Pokemon Pearl - Stark Mountain

After I went around Sinnoh to gather supplies and ready for the adventure ahead, I went east to Route 226 where I found a house on top of one of the cliffs that held a Hiker and nothing else. He was surprised I made it to his house, but shared in my disappointment that there was nothing there otherwise.

I went east, going up and down a few cliffs, and I battled a few Trainers. Through the battles, Alexander and Lucius both grew to Level 60. After I got through the cliffs I kept on east through some water and around a lot of big rocks, battling a Swimmer along the way. In the middle of the pond there was a house, and when I went inside I met up with someone named the "Meister" who altered my Pokedex to allow me to read descriptions of Pokemon in other languages.

I got through the sea and went north to find myself near the base of Stark Mountain, where ash was raining down from the volcano. I had to go up the route using my bike on some ramps, and I got into a few battles which saw Annabelle grow to Level 61. I got through the path and found myself in front of Crasher Wake and Simon. Wake admired how strong I had become to train there, and how strong my bonds with my Pokemon were becoming.

Simon told me that we stood before Stark Mountain, and that Buck was on his way. Simon told me he would find the volcano's treasure before him, and if he could do that then a 21-win streak at the Battle Tower could be possible. We watched as Simon ran off, then Wake turned to me, surprised that I was going to Stark Mountain too. He warned me of the strength of the wild Pokemon, and that my Pokemon needed to be well trained to get through. He told me to be fully prepared, and I was, I had the items I'd need and my Pokemon were strong enough to tear through even the Ace Trainers around here.

Crasher Wake left, and I rested up at a house at the base of Stark Mountain before I went up. I went across a beam on my bike, and ran into Buck. He was surprised to see me, and called me wimpy, concerned about the strength of my team going in. Buck then wondered why he asked, realizing he didn't care anyway, and told me the race was on to see who got the Magma Stone first. Buck left, and I was determined to find this Magma Stone before him!

I went through a few Trainers on my way to the entrance of the mountain, and Marcus grew to Level 61. Finally I found my way inside the volcano. There were several levels to the place, and many large boulders to move around. I pushed aside some boulders, made my way around the early part of the cave, and found an Escape Rope and a PP Up. I have 5 of the latter item now, I think I should look through my dream team and see who needs the boost most.

I got to the top of the first area, and found Simon by the entrance to the next area. He was angry, and told me that Buck wiped out his team. He was surprised at the strength Buck possessed, but looked upon his loss as room to become even tougher. I admired his point of view on that, it was very mature and better than I would think of loss. I continued on and went to the next area of the volcano.

I met up with Buck again shortly ahead in the second area, telling me how he wiped the floor with Simon, and how he made sure that Simon was taught a lesson. However, Buck didn't know if he could beat Simon again the next time, knowing that you're bound to run into tough Trainers everywhere. He told me that he found out about this place, but the Pokemon are tough, and suggested we team up together. I decided that would be a good idea, to build my team up and get through this place.

I continued forward with Buck, fighting in a couple Double Battles with wild Pokemon alongside his Claydol, and then we got into a battle against a pair of Ace Trainers. They had a Aerodactyl, Kangaskhan, and Ursaring who all went down easily against Maria and Claydol, and Maria grew to Level 61. We went through fighting more wild Pokemon, and Alexander grew to Level 61 through it.

Near the end of the cave, Buck and I encountered a Dragon Tamer and a Veteran who were itching for a fight. They sent out Loudred and Bagon while I sent out Maximus and Buck sent out Claydol. Maximus and Claydol worked together to knock out Bagon, before Loudred used Uproar on Maximus for good damage. Shelgon was sent out next, and both Maximus and Claydol did massive damage to it, before it countered with Crunch to knock out Claydol and then Loudred hit Maximus with Uproar for good damage. Maximus used Spark against Loudred for massive damage and knocked it out, before Shelgon used Scary Face on Maximus.

Donphan was sent out, and it used Rock Tomb on Maximus for minor damage, then Shelgon hit Maximus with Crunch for good damage, and after that Donphan was found to be immune to Spark. I switched to Marcus, whose Intimidate cut their attacks, then Donphan and Shelgon both used Scary Face. Shelgon used Zen Headbutt for good damage, then Donphan used Slam for good damage, then Marcus countered with Close Combat which hit Donphan for great damage. Donphan used Rock Tomb against Marcus for massive damage, and knocked him out, then I switched out to Maria. Maria used Earthquake against Shelgon and Donphan, which knocked out Shelgon and left Donphan with massive damage, before it countered with Slam for great damage. Maria knocked out Donphan with Waterfall, and then Tauros was sent out last.

Maria's Quick Claw let her use Earthquake first, and it did great damage, before Tauros countered with Giga Impact for great damage. Maria's Quick Claw started again and she did good damage to Tauros. Tauros used Rock Slide, then Maria used Recover to heal up. Tauros missed with Zen Headbutt, then Maria hit it with Waterfall for good damage, and it clung on. Tauros used Zen Headbutt for good damage, then one more Waterfall knocked it out and won the battle.

I used a few Max Repels to get through the cave without incident from wild Pokemon, and we got into one final battle against a pair of Trainers. I got through them quickly enough, and Maximus grew to Level 61, then we got to the end of the cave. Buck was excited to see the exit, telling me his instincts told him the treasure was just ahead. He said goodbye, and told me I may be the toughest besides him.

I ran in after Buck, and he presented me with the Magma Stone, the treasure of Stark Mountain. He figured that since he found it, that made him the greatest Trainer out there. He thanked me for my help, then there was an earthquake. Buck was amused, thinking the volcano was in shock because he got the stone, but I was concerned about being in a potentially active volcano. Buck left and told me to say hello to Simon for him. I used an Escape Rope to get out, then flew back to the Survival Area.

I'm not sure what that earthquake was, but I'm willing to bet the Magma Stone was there for a reason. I'm gonna need to find Buck and hope he'll let me bring the stone back, or else that volcano may just erupt and take out the entire island with it!
