Pokemon SoulSilver - The Elite Four

I had to get a lot of training done before I was finally ready to take on the Elite Four, but that wasn't all I had to do. I know from Hoenn that the Pokemon that fight at your side through the league aren't necessarily the same ones that will win you the Championship.

I looked at my team, and knew they weren't quite as varied in abilities as they should be, but one in particular wasn't as strong as I needed them to be. Lucas is a good Pokemon, he has helped me from the very beginning as Pidgey, and has done his best in every battle. Thanks to Lucas I was able to get the Fog Badge, and the Legendary Beasts, as well as to get around the Johto Region easily.

Unfortunately, Lucas doesn't shine in any stat except Speed, with a secondary in Attack, and unfortunately neither are quite at a level where he's able to do much. I decided to change up my team, and I grabbed Rayquaza (Dragon/Flying, Lv. 70) and went about training the rest of my team to around Level 50. I knew Rayquaza would be 20 levels above the most powerful Pokemon the Elite Four had to offer, and with both the power and speed to beat any enemy it might come across.

Through all the training, Seth learned Leaf Blade in place of Razor Leaf, and Samuel learned Fire Spin in place of Leer, but I turned down another couple attacks that I felt weren't going to be a good fit for my team. After days of training, I felt my team was ready. I couldn't wait to finish my journey through Johto and start on the next league.

My team consisted of:

Blake (Feraligatr, Water, Lv. 50)
Seth (Victreebel, Grass/Poison, Lv. 49)
Edward (Electabuzz, Electric, Lv. 50)
Samuel (Infernape, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 50)
Claire (Gengar, Ghost/Poison, Lv. 49)
Rayquaza (Dragon/Flying, Lv. 70)

I wanted to start off with Blake, my starter from this region. I met Will, the first of the Elite Four, in an odd room with glass cubes floating all about. Will told me how he had trained his Psychic-type Pokemon all around the world, and that he'd finally been accepted into the Elite Four. He told me losing wasn't an option, but he was in for a rude awakening.

Will sent out Xatu, and I sent out Blake. Blake used Crunch for massive damage, and Xatu went down instantly. Jynx was sent out next, and Blake used Crunch to knock out Jynx too. Exeggutor was sent out third, and a Crunch from Blake did massive damage, but it clung on and used Psychic for great damage. Another Crunch from Blake knocked out Exeggutor.

Slowbro was sent out next, and Blake used Crunch for massive damage, then Slowbro used Curse to lower it's speed but raise it's attack and defense. Blake used Crunch again for great damage, then Slowbro used Psychic for good damage. Will used a Full Restore to heal Slowbro, then Blake used Crunch yet again for great damage.

I switched to Edward, then Slowbro used Curse again to raise it's attack and defense. Edward used Thunderbolt and did massive damage, and Slowbro was knocked out. I kept Edward in the fight when Xatu was sent out last, and he used Thunderbolt for massive damage, and Xatu went down instantly. With his last Pokemon knocked out, Will lost, and the first battle was over!

I moved on, and healed Blake before I switched Samuel for first position. I then talked to the second member of the Johto Elite Four, Koga. He bragged about the various status effects his team could cause, and told me that Pokemon aren't only about brute force.

Koga sent out Ariados first, and I sent out Samuel. Samuel used Flame Wheel for massive damage, and Ariados went down. Crobat was up next, and I decided to let Claire have a shot against it. Claire used Shadow Ball for massive damage, then Crobat used a Sitrius Berry to heal a bit before it used Double Team to raise it's evasiveness. Claire missed with Shadow Ball, then Crobat used Wing Attack for good damage. Claire hit Crobat with Hypnosis, and it fell asleep, then Claire used Dream Eater to do massive damage and knock it out while healing herself fully.

Venomoth was sent out third, and I sent out Samuel against it. Samuel used Flame Wheel for massive damage, and it went down instantly like Ariados did. Forretress was sent out next, and I kept Samuel out to fight it. Forretress used Protect, and thus avoided damage by Flame Wheel. Samuel was able to hit it with Flame Wheel afterwards for massive damage, and it was knocked out.

I decided to send Claire out against Koga's final Pokemon, Muk. Claire used Hypnosis to put Muk to sleep, then she used Dream Eater for massive damage, but Muk clung on and woke up to use Minimize to increase it's evasiveness, then Muk used Black Sludge to heal. Koga used a Full Restore to heal Muk fully, then Claire missed with Shadow Ball. Claire missed with Hypnosis after, and Muk used Minimize again. I knew that I would have a tough fight ahead if things kept up like this.

Claire managed to hit Muk with Hypnosis again, then she used Dream Eater for massive damage, a critical hit that managed to knock out Muk. Koga was out of Pokemon, and with that I won the second battle! Koga admitted defeat, and that he hit my Pokemon with everything he could. I moved on, ready to fight the next battle.

The third member of the Elite Four was Bruno, a master of Fighting-Type Pokemon. He told me he always trained to the extreme because he believed in the potential of his Pokemon. I was ready for his strength, and he could see that. He claimed I would bow down to his overwhelming power, but I knew better.

I sent Claire out against his first Pokemon, Hitmontop. Claire used Shadow Ball for massive damage, then Hitmontop burrowed it's way underground. I had Claire use Destiny Bond, then Hitmontop attempted to use Dig, but Claire's ability, Levitate, stops all Ground-Type moves from hurting her! Claire used Shadow Ball again and knocked out Hitmontop.

Hitmonlee was sent out next, and I kept Claire in the fight. Claire used Hypnosis and put Hitmonlee to sleep, then she used Dream Eater for a one-hit KO. Hitmonchan was sent out next, and I kept Claire in the fight. Claire missed with Hypnosis, and got hit by Ice Punch for great damage, but then Claire managed to hit Hitmonchan with another Hypnosis, and then Dream Eater did massive damage and healed Claire.

Hitmonchan was still asleep, but was woken up when Bruno used Full Restore to heal it fully. Claire hit it with Shadow Ball for massive damage afterward, meaning most of the health it regained was lost. Claire used Shadow Ball again to knock out Hitmonchan, then she grew to Level 50.

Onix was sent out next, and I sent Seth out against it. Seth used Leaf Blade and Onix was knocked out instantly, then Machamp was sent out next, and I decided to send out Rayquaza. Rayquaza flew up high, then Machamp used Revenge for minor damage, before it was hit by Fly for massive damage, and so Bruno's last Pokemon was knocked out.

Bruno accepted his defeat, and realized he had no right to say anything about it. He told me to go face my next challenge, and I was all too glad to do so. I was happy to see all my hard work, all the training my Pokemon went through, had paid off with fairly easy battles up until this point!

- - - - -

The last member of the Elite Four was in a dark room with large crystals growing near the entrance. She introduced herself as Karen, and told me she loved Dark-Type Pokemon. Karen told me she was known for overpowering tactics. I knew I was up to the challenge, and the battle started.

I sent out Samuel, while Karen sent out Umbreon. Samuel used Close Combat for massive damage, and knocked out Umbreon in a single blow. Samuel's defense and special defense both went down, but he grew to level 51!

Murkrow was sent out next, and I sent out Edward against it. Edward used Thunderbolt on Murkrow for massive damage, and it was knocked out in instantly. Houndoom was sent out next, and I sent Samuel to battle it. Samuel used Close Combat for massive damage, and it was knocked out instantly as well, though his defense and special defense both went down further.

Gengar was the fourth of Karen's Pokemon, and I decided to send Claire out against it. Claire used Shadow Ball for massive damage, and Karen's Gengar was knocked out in a single blow. Vileplume was sent out last, and I sent Samuel out to fight against it. Samuel used Flame Wheel for massive damage, and Vileplume clung on to use Stun Spore to paralyze Samuel.

Karen used a Full Restore to heal Vileplume, and then Samuel missed with Fire Spin. Vileplume used Petal Dance for good damage, then Samuel hit it with Flame Wheel for massive damage. Vileplume clung on, and used Petal Dance for good damage, before Samuel ended the fight with another Flame Wheel. Karen's last Pokemon fell, and I was victorious once more!

Karen commented on the views of Pokemon being strong or weak, saying how that was only the selfish perception of people. She told me that skilled Trainers should try to win with their most beloved Pokemon, and for the most part I agreed, though I knew I had switched out Lucas for Rayquaza for this fight. Karen told me she liked my style, that I understood what was important, then told me to go on and fight the Champion.

- - - - -

I continued on, and found myself in a golden room with statues nearby and gears moving in the walls. I thought it was a bit much, but I guess if you're the Champion you can do whatever you want... I was surprised when I went up and found Lance waiting for me!

Lance told me he had been waiting for me, that he knew I would eventually reach him. He told me that there was no need for words, that battle would determine which of us was stronger. I was ready, this was why I brought along Rayquaza!

Lance sent out Gyarados, and I sent out Rayquaza, but his attack was cut by Gyarados' Intimidate ability. Rayquaza used Dragon Claw for massive damage, then Gyarados used Ice Fang for great damage. Lance used a Full Restore to heal Gyarados, then Rayquaza hit it with Dragon Claw for massive damage. Rayquaza went high, and avoided another Ice Fang, then it hit Gyarados hard with Fly to knock it out!

Dragonite was sent out next, and I kept Rayquaza in the fight. Rayquaza used Dragon Claw for massive damage, and it went down instantly. Another Dragonite was sent out, and I kept Rayquaza out to fight it, with another Dragon Claw from Rayquaza to knock it out too.

Aerodactyl was sent out, and I sent out Blake against it. Blake's Bell activated and allowed him to hit Aerodactyl with Waterfall, and it's massive damaged knocked out Aerodactyl instantly. Blake grew to Level 51, and then I sent out Rayquaza again against Lance's next Pokemon, another Dragonite.

Rayquaza used Dragon Claw against Dragonite for massive damage, and it went down with a single blow. Rayquaza grew to Level 71, and then I decided to send Edward out against Lance's last Pokemon, Charizard.

Edward hit Charizard with Thunderbolt, and it did massive damage, but Charizard countered with Shadow Claw for great damage. Lance used a Full Restore to heal Charizard, then Edward used Thunder Punch for massive damage. Edward finished Charizard off with Thunderbolt, and the battle was over. I had beaten Lance, and become Champion of the Johto League!

Lance saw that I had become powerful, and told me that my Pokemon had responded to my strong and upstanding nature. Lance said that I would continue to grow strong with my Pokemon, and then the doors behind him opened, and a woman named Mary ran up with Professor Oak. Apparently they would have witnessed the battle, had Professor Oak slowed her down.

It had been some time since I had last talked to Professor Oak, and he told me I looked more impressive than last we talked. He complimented me on my conquest of the Johto League, and told me my dedication, trust and love for my Pokemon made this happen. Professor Oak told me that because my Pokemon believed in me as a Trainer, they persevered.

Mary wanted to interview me, but Lance told me it was getting too noisy, and asked that I come with him. I went in through the doors behind him, avoiding the interview for now, and I entered my information into the computer. Lance told me it had been a long time since he had been there, and told me I AND my team would be commemorated with the other League Champions for all eternity.

I am now Champion of the Hoenn, Sinnoh, AND Johto Leagues, and I've got a ways to go yet. Still, I'm glad to have achieved such an easy victory after so many difficulties getting to the Elite Four. I started to wonder about my team, if they were able to stand up to the power of the Elite Four, but fortunately hard work and good tactics won the Championship.

Pokemon SoulSilver - Catching the Legendary Beasts

I decided before lots of necessary training for the Pokemon League, that I would spend some time to catch the Legendary Pokemon that were roaming through the region. I had encountered Entei a few times, and hit him for some damage, but not by much. I knew I would have to focus, and be careful, if I was going to catch these two.

I decided to fly to Blackthorn City, and go between the city and Route 45 to wait for the two Legendary Beasts to come my way. After some time, my effort was rewarded with an encounter with Entei. Lucas used Wing Attack for good damage, putting Entei in the yellow before he ran off.

I went between the city and the route a while more, before I decided to fly to Mahogany Town where the two Lions seemed to enjoy hanging around more. I went onto Route 42 and soon found Raikou, my first encounter with it so far. Lucas used Wing Attack and did good damage, but then Raikou ran off.

After a while, I encountered Raikou again, and another Wing Attack did good damage, before it ran off again. I soon encountered Raikou again, another Wing Attack for good damage that brought it to the yellow, and again it ran off. Oddly enough, during this time, I had difficulty finding Entei on the map at times.

I decided to fly to Ecruteak City and go between there and Route 37 to find the Lions again. I didn't have much luck at all after a while spent, so I went to the Ecruteak Pokemon Center to get my team some rest. Afterwards, I went down to Route 36 and found myself against Entei again. Lucas hit Entei with Wing Attack, and brought it to the red before it fled.

With Entei in the red, I considered switching over to Claire for Hypnosis, but knew if I came across Raikou that I would need a Pokemon to do minimal damage to it, take it down with bug bites so to speak. I wandered between Ecruteak City and Route 37 a bit longer and found Raikou again, and another Wing Attack did good damage before it fled.

I wandered a bit more before I saw Entei on the Route thanks to my Pokegear, and I switched to Claire before seeking it out. Claire managed to put it to sleep with hypnosis before it escaped (by sleepwalking I assume...) and I knew I'd have a great shot to capture it next time.

I switched back to Lucas and decided to save, then I wandered between city and road before I encountered Raikou again. Lucas hit it with Wing attack, and it stayed in the yellow before fleeing. I wandered around a bit more before I encountered Entei once more, and this time I tossed a Quick Ball that shook twice before it escaped and fled.

I knew a few more would catch Entei, but I would need to find it again. Fortunately it didn't take long before Entei (Fire, Lv. 40) returned, and this second Quick Ball caught him! Like previous Legendary Pokemon, I decided to leave it nameless, to respect it's status.

One Legendary Beast down, two more to go, and only one more I could catch currently. I kept at it, and soon enough came across Raikou again. Lucas hit Raikou with Wing Attack and it barely clung on with Wing Attack, just where I needed it. When it fled, I switched to Claire, and kept looking for Raikou.

Raikou was staying far away from Route 37 when I wandered, and I started to wonder if I should move on. I decided after a while to head to Violet City and move between the city and Route 32. It took me some time before I found Raikou again, but Claire missed with Hypnosis before it fled again.

I found Raikou again with a bit of effort, and this time Hypnosis put Raikou to sleep before it fled. I saved, then I kept on looking on Route 32, confident that I would soon have the second Legendary Beast in my collection! After some time of searching I encountered Raikou again, and I tossed a Quick Ball, and it failed immediately before Raikou fled.

I decided to fly to Blackthorn City because Raikou was staying at the eastern side of Johto, and then I saw it staying at the northern side. I wondered if maybe it was avoiding me, but I was determined to catch it!

After some time, I finally found Raikou again, but it escaped immediately before it fled again. Fortunately it wasn't much of a wait to find it again, but the next Quick Ball only shook once before it broke free and fled once more. I started to wondering how much effort it would take to catch this weakened, sleeping Pokemon, and if I had enough Quick Balls for the job.

I decided to fly back to Ecruteak City and move through Route 37 again, and after a while I found Raikou again, but it escaped the Quick Ball immediately and fled. After a long while, I found Raikou again on Route 37, and a single shake was all the Quick Ball could take.

I kept at it, and finally, FINALLY, I caught Raikou (Electric, Lv. 40) after a few more Quick Balls on Route 37. With both Pokemon caught, I decided to call it a day, I had worked hard to get these two and I thought my team could do with a break, myself included.

Pokemon SoulSilver - Victory Road

I flew to Goldenrod City to heal my Pokemon, and also to buy some supplies for the challenge ahead. After I felt good and ready, I went to Route 43 to get into another battle, a rematch with a Trainer I met a while ago, and Lucas grew to Level 41. I returned to Victory Road, and started my way in.

I got into a couple wild Pokemon battles, and Seth grew to Level 42, then I went up a ladder and got into another couple wild Pokemon battles with Blake, and he grew to Level 42 too. I found a Potion and a Full Heal on the first floor, and nothing on the second floor before I went up another ladder.

I dropped down a hole nearby and went north a ways, moved a boulder to grab a Full Restore, then I went up some stairs and up another ladder. As I went through a few wild Pokemon battles, Samuel grew to Level 42. I dropped down another hole, and found an HP Up, before I hopped down and went up another ladder.

I noticed as I continued on that there wasn't yet a single Trainer around Victory Road to challenge me. I wondered where they could be, because the previous Victory Roads I had traveled were swarming with Ace Trainers and the like training their Pokemon. I continued fighting wild Pokemon as I made my way through, and Claire grew to Level 42.

I found TM79 (Dark Pulse) and found my way to the exit, only to be stopped by Aiden. He told me that he had beaten all of the other Trainers along Victory Road, and said they were all spineless. Aiden declared that my journey would end right there, because he would crush me.

Aiden sent out Sneasel, and I sent out Lucas. I switched out to Samuel, who got hit by Icy Wind for minor damage, and also suffered from speed reduction. Sneasel used Quick Attack next for minor damage, then Samuel countered with Close Combat to knock it out in a single blow!

Aiden sent out Kadabra next, and I sent out Claire. Claire used Shadow Ball, and it knocked out Kadabra instantly! Haunter was sent out next, and I kept Claire in the fight. Claire used Shadow Ball again, and Haunter went down instantly just like Kadabra.

Aiden sent out Golbat next, and I sent Edward out against it. Edward used Thunder Punch for massive damage, and Golbat went down hard. At this point I wondered how good all the Trainers along Victory Road could be if I was beating Aiden so easily!

Meganium was sent out next, and I sent out Lucas against it. Lucas flew high, then Meganium used Reflect to increase it's defense, then Lucas swooped down to hit Meganium with Fly for great damage, and avoided a countering Poison Powder. Lucas hit Meganium with Wing Attack for good damage, then it used Synthesis to heal itself.

Lucas went high again, while Meganium used Synthesis again to heal itself fully, before Lucas hit it with Fly for great damage. Meganium countered with Poison Powder, and Lucas was poisoned, and took some damage from it. Lucas finally finished off Meganium with Wing Attack, leaving Aiden with a single Pokemon.

Finally Aiden sent out Magneton, and I sent Seth out against it. Seth charged up, then Magneton used Thunder Wave to paralyze him. Magneton missed an attack, then Seth was stopped by his paralysis! Magneton used Magnet Bomb next for good damage, then Seth countered with Razor Leaf for good damage.

Magneton used Magnet Bomb again, and then I had Seth charge up again. Magnet Bomb hit Seth again for good damage, then he countered with Solar Beam for massive damage. Magneton clung on, and it used Magnet Bomb again for good damage, before Seth used Razor Leaf to finish it off and win the battle!

After the battle, Aiden told me he hadn't given up on becoming the greatest Trainer, and that he would find out why he can't win, and become stronger. He told me that when he got his answer, he would challenge me again. He promised to beat me, but also told me to keep at it until then. It's odd to be rooted for by a power-hungry thief like Aiden, but I guess I'd rather he stay out of my way otherwise...

I left Victory Road and at the end of a short path I found myself in front of the Indigo Plateu, and the Pokemon League HQ. I went inside and healed my team, then I wondered what could be waiting for me at the end of all this. I've gone through so many tough battles so far, and now I would take on my toughest challenge yet!

Current Team:

Lucas (Pidgeot, Normal/Flying, Lv. 41)
Samuel (Infernape, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 42)
Seth (Victreebel, Grass/Poison, Lv. 42)
Edward (Electabuzz, Electric, Lv. 42)
Claire (Gengar, Ghost/Poison, Lv. 42)
Blake (Feraligatr, Water, Lv. 42)

Pokemon SoulSilver - Onward to Victory Road!

I flew back home after I caught Lugia on the Whirl Islands, and I knew it was time to head east to the Pokemon League. I surfed a bit to the east, and when I touched upon land again, a man came up and told me that I had taken my first step into Kanto. I checked my Pokegear to see if he was right, and it did confirm that I was crossing into Kanto. It also showed new paths I hadn't seen previously, including Victory Road, the Indigo Plateu, and a path to Mt. Silver as well.

I went inside Tohjo Falls and found myself in a cave with large waterfalls pouring into the underground ponds below. I realized that these would stop all but the strongest Trainers from advancing further, even if I had found myself here when I got Surf.

I noticed a path behind the falls, and I found some natural steps up to the rocky platform where I found a Moon Stone. I noticed a cave hidden behind the left falls, and I went inside. I found a broken radio inside, and some breakable rocks. I wondered if perhaps someone had been hiding out here?

With a small mystery behind me, I left the cave and found myself instantly in a battle with an Ace Trainer. I was surprised when she sent out Bulbasaur against Seth, and I switched over to Samuel who got hit by Growl to lower his attack. Samuel used Flame Wheel to knock out Bulbasaur, then Ivysaur was sent out next. I kept Samuel in the fight, and another Flame Wheel did massive damage, but Ivysaur clung on and countered with Leech Seed, and regained some health by draining Samuel! Samuel used Rock Smash next for minor damage, then Ivysaur used Petal Dance for minor damage.

Samuel finished Ivysaur off with Flame Wheel, then Venusaur was sent out last. Samuel used Flame Wheel for massive damage, but Venusaur endured and used Sleep Powder to put Samuel to sleep, before the lingering Leech Seed regained some of Venusaur's health. I sent Claire out, and she was immune to Venusaur's Double-Edge. Claire used Shadow Ball to knock out Venusaur and win the battle!

Samuel grew to Level 41 from all the experience, and then I got a call from Ralph who wanted a rematch on Route 32. I knew I'd have to remember that, because I doubted my team was quite strong enough to take on the Elite Four yet. I went into the nearby house, which held a kind, elderly woman who gave me TM37 (Sandstorm) as a reward for having such loyal Pokemon.

I went further east, surfing further into Kanto before I got back on land. I fought a wild Tentacruel, and upon victory Seth grew to Level 41. When I reached land, I found myself caught up in another battle. I sent out Seth, who found himself up against Magneton, a powerful Electric-Type Pokemon. Seth charged up, and Magneton missed it's attack before Seth struck it with Solar Beam for massive damage! Thunderbolt hit Seth for minor damage, but he countered with Razor Leaf to knock it out.

Exeggcute was sent out, and I sent Claire out after it. Claire used Shadow Ball to great effect, and knocked out Exeggcute immediately. I kept Claire in the fight when Quagsire was sent out, and another Shadow Ball did massive damage before it countered with Water Gun. Claire missed with Hypnosis, and got hit by Water Gun for minor damage. Claire missed with Hypnosis again, and then Quagsire used Yawn to make Claire drowsy. I decided to quit messing around, and another Shadow Ball knocked it out to win the battle!

I used Awakening on Samuel, and a Super Potion to heal him, then I switched Blake to the head of the team before I continued on. I went across a bridge, and found myself in another battle halfway through it. I sent out Blake, and the Ace Trainer sent out Mareep. I quickly switched to Claire, and she got hit by Cotton Spore to lower her speed. Claire used Shadow Ball for massive damage, and knocked out Mareep before it could do anything else. The battle was won, and I continued further on.

I went across a cliff face and down some stairs, then found myself truly within Kanto. I found a Destiny Knot, then as I went further I found myself in yet another battle, this time with a Psychic. He sent out Starmie, and I sent out Blake. Blake used Ice Fang for good damage, then it countered with Confuse Ray to confuse Blake. I switched over to Edward, and he got hit by Swift for minor damage. Edward used Discharge for massive damage, knocking out Starmie before Girafarig was sent out.

I kept Edward in the fight, and another Discharge did massive damage, then Girafarig countered with Psybeam for good damage. Edward used Thunder Punch to knock it out, and then Exeggcute was sent out last. Edward used Discharge for massive damage, then it countered with Poison Powder. Edward was poisoned, and took some damage, but then used Strength to knock out Exeggcute and win the battle.

I quickly cured Edward of his poison, then continued on. I found myself caught up in another battle, but it was finished quickly, but afterward I had to cure Lucas of poison caused by a Nidorina's ability. I exchanged phone numbers with the Ace Trainer, and then I went further down the path. I looked at my various remedies like Iron and Calcium, and wondered if maybe I should go ahead and try boosting the stats of my Pokemon before we got too much further into things.

I decided against boosting their stats, but I DID give a few of them items to hold. I gave Samuel the Muscle Band to increase his attack power even further, I gave Claire the Soothe Bell to make her friendlier after the trade to Sinnoh, and I gave Edward an Amulet Coin to hold for better cash going further on.

I came to Route 26, and fought against a Fisherman who went down easily against Edward. Edward grew to Level 41, and then after a great payday we went north.  I fought against another Psychic, and Claire took down his Espeon easily, then she grew to Level 41. I soon came across a house where the owner was kind enough to let my team and I rest. I thanked her for her help, and then got into another battle just west of her house.

Blake took down her Pikachu with a single Ice Fang, then I sent out Seth against her Blastoise. Seth charged up, then got hit by Surf for great damage, before he hit Blastoise with Solar Beam for massive damage, which knocked it out and won the battle.

From this point, the path lead north, and I went north until I got into another battle. The Ace Trainer, Gavin, sent out Victreebel, Kingler, and Flareon, and all went down easily. Blake grew to Level 41, and I exchanged numbers with Gavin before I continued further north. I was quickly thrown into another battle, and won quite the payday before I went further north.

I was in sight of the entrance to Victory Road when another Ace Trainer named Jamie wanted to fight. After a short battle, I was victorious, and I exchanged phone numbers with her. I had finally made it to Victory Road, and I wondered what challenges lay ahead of me.

I went inside the Reception Gate, and a guard there checked on my 8 Gym Badges before I continued on to Victory Road. I think I'll leave to grab more healing items before I continue further.

Current Team:

Lucas (Pidgeot, Normal/Flying, Lv. 40)
Samuel (Infernape, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 41)
Seth (Victreebel, Grass/Poison, Lv. 41)
Edward (Electabuzz, Electric, Lv. 41)
Claire (Gengar, Ghost/Poison, Lv. 41)
Blake (Feraligatr, Water, Lv. 41)

Pokemon SoulSilver - Whirl Islands

I went to the nearby Poke' Mart to get several kinds of berries and a Muscle Band from the Deliveryman, then I bought some Pokeballs and taught Edward Flash in place of Light Screen. I then went to Cianwood City and started east to the Whirl Islands.

I went exploring the eastern cave, and found myself soon at the western cave. I found I had made a wrong turn and went through caves linking the two. I left the western cave, and surfed back to the eastern cave, and went through the north path instead. I found myself in a new part of the cavern I was in, and I went through a ways before I made my way further down.

I came across an old man, a monk who recognized the Silver Wing I held which floated above me and glowed. He allowed me to pass, and it returned to me before I continued on. I found a Rare Candy, and got a view of a beautiful waterfall far below, before I went down the side of the island to enter the cave of the waterfall.

I met up with the Kimono Girls, who told me they were there to greet Lugia. They told me that it would emerge from the waterfall basin once their dancing matched the sounds of the Tidal Bell. The Tidal Bell floated up and glowed, and the Kimono Girls moved around the stone it hovered above and started to dance. I watched as the nearby bells at the sides of the waterfall sounded in time with the Tidal Bell, and the dancing matched the tone.

Lugia emerged from the waterfall, and we all stood in awe of it's power. Zuki told me that I was part of the reason it emerged after so long, because of my pure heart. She told me it had been waiting for someone like me all this time. I quickly saved to make sure nothing could go wrong, then I went over to confront Lugia.

I sent out Seth to fight against Lugia, and Lugia used Rain Dance before it got hit by Razor Leaf for minor damage. I switched over to Claire, and Lugia used Extrasensory on Claire for massive damage that knocked her out instantly. I had to switch out to Edward, and he got hit by Aeroblast for great damage before he countered with Thunder Punch for great damage, and caused paralysis!

Edward used Discharge next for great damage, and Lugia missed with Hydro Pump after. Edward used Flash next, and Lugia was stopped by paralysis. Edward used Flash again, then Lugia used Rain Dance again to increase it's Water-Type attacks. Edward used Flash once more to lower Lugia's accuracy further, and it was stopped by paralysis again. I knew a few more hits by Flash would stop it from doing anything at all.

With a few more hits by Flash, Lugia was unable to land a blow, and with paralysis stopping it repeatedly I knew I needed to start trying to catch it. I tossed a Heavy Ball, but it did nothing. I tossed a Dusk Ball, and it did nothing either. Lugia managed to hit Edward with Aeroblast, and he was knocked out. I sent out Blake next, then tried a Net Ball which did nothing. I started to wonder what I could do...

I switched over to Seth to attack Lugia with Razor Leaf, then it countered with Hydro Pump for great damage. Another Razor Leaf missed, then Lugia used Rain Dance again. Seth used Razor Leaf again to bring Lugia to the red, then it failed with Rain Dance. I tossed a Net Ball and found it did nothing.

I started focusing just on tossing Pokeballs, and a Dusk Ball got a couple shakes before Lugia broke out. A couple more Dusk Balls, and I finally caught Lugia!

I went back and talked to Zuki, and noticed that she and the rest had been watching our battle. She was amazed that I not only drew out Lugia, but that I had also caught it. She said I was so wonderful, and that they had nothing more to say. She wished me well on my journey, and I slowly worked my way out of the cave.

I flew back to Cianwood City, and healed my team at the Pokemon Center. My team did well, and I decided that they deserved a short break. I would continue my journey to Victory Road and the Pokemon League soon enough!

Pokemon SoulSilver - Ecruteak Dance Theater

I decided to go ahead and train my Pokemon before the visit to the Ecruteak Dance Theater. I knew that I still had challenges ahead, and that my team needed to be even stronger to get through them. I trained my whole team to Level 40. During training, Claire learned Dream Eater in place of Confuse Ray, Lucas learned Wing Attack in place of Gust, and Seth learned Razor Leaf in place of Vine Whip.

After I had finished training (for now) I decided it was time for Claire and Seth to evolve. I sent Claire off to Sinnoh, where she evolved into a Gengar, then I had her come back with a Leaf Stone, and I used it to evolve Seth into Victreebel!

I decided to do a couple other tasks while I was training, the first being a return to Moomoo Farm to give their Miltank several Oran Berries I had managed to get from the Pokewalker, and when it got better I received a Seal Case and several seals as thanks from the daughters, while their mother gave me TM83 (Natural Gift), which uses a held berry to do an attack.

I also went to the National Park to compete in the Bug-Catching Contest again. After a while of searching, I found a Scyther (Grass/Flying, Female, Lv. 13) and after dealing quite some damage to her and tossing a few Sports Balls, I finally managed to catch her! I had been wanting a Scyther for some time, and I was glad to finally have one. I went around, just biding my time until the end of the contest, and I came across another Scyther (Grass/Flying, Male, Lv. 14) and I figured I would use up my Sports Balls to end the contest quickly, but when I tossed the first Sports Ball at it without doing any damage, he was caught! I switched him for the female, and I won the contest with 354 points for my capture! I received a Sun Stone for my victory.

With my Pokemon all stronger than before, I flew to Ecruteak City and went to the Ecruteak Dance Theater. When I got there, I bumped into Aiden. He was complaining of losing to the Kimono Girls, confused by his defeat. He noticed me after, and told me he never thought defeating five Kimono Girls would be so hard. He assumed I was here for the same reason, and told me not to get cocky just because I defeated Team Rocket.

After Aiden left, I went inside, and was greeted by the Kimono Girl known as Zuki, whom I met in Violet City. She told me that to bring back Lugia, they needed someone with the right bond with Pokemon. It turned out that Mr. Pokemon gave the Mystery Egg to Professor Elm on their orders, and thus to me because I showed true potential. Zuki told me that being pure alone would not be sufficient to face the power of Lugia.

Zuki asked if I was ready to be tested, and when I said yes, she sent out Umbreon while I sent out Samuel. Samuel hit it with Close Combat and the Dark-Type Eevolution was knocked out instantly. I saw that I had 4 more Kimono Girls to fight, and knew I'd have a tough time continuing on.

Next up was Naoko, the one I helped in Ilex Forest, and she sent out Espeon, and I sent out Samuel. Samuel used Flame Wheel for massive damage, then it countered with Psychic for an instant knock-out. I sent out Claire next, and her Shadow Ball attack finished off Espeon and won that battle.

The third one was Miki, who I saved from a Rocket Grunt who had been harassing her right there at the theater. She sent out Flareon, and I sent out Seth. I switched over to Blake, who avoided a hit by Fire Blast. Blake's Quick Claw activated, and allowed him to strike Flareon down with Waterfall in a single blow!

The fourth Kimono Girl was Sayo, who I saved from the Ice Path. Sayo sent out Jolteon while I sent out Seth. Jolteon used Double Team to increase it's evasiveness, then Seth hit it with Sludge Bomb for massive damage AND made it poisoned! Jolteon used Thunder Wave to paralyze Seth, then it avoided his Razor Leaf attack, but took damage from poison. Jolteon used Thunderbolt next for good damage, then Seth was stopped by paralysis while Jolteon took more damage from poison. Jolteon used Last Resort for good damage, then Seth missed with Cut, and Jolteon clung on with more poison damage. Jolteon used Last Resort again for great damage, and Seth missed with Cut again, but Jolteon finally succumbed to poison.

Kuni was the last Kimono Girl, and she met me in the Goldenrod Tunnel. Kuni sent out Vaporeon, and I sent out an injured Seth. I immediately had Edward switch out, and Vaporeon used Aurora Beam for good damage. Edward hit Vaporeon with Thunder Punch for massive damage, a critical hit that knocked it out and won the battle!

Kuni told me that I was indeed worthy, and gave me the Tidal Bell. Suddenly the earth shook, and a little girl ran up onto the stage. She said she had just seen a large shadow in the Whirl Islands' waters. Zuki told me that she and the others would be at the Whirl Islands, and that they would see me there.
