Pokemon SoulSilver - Taking back the Radio Tower

When I got to Goldenrod City, I found it overrun with Team Rocket Grunts. I found that they were keeping all the local Trainers stuck in the Goldenrod Gym, and I couldn't do anything to help them. I found a couple standing in front of the Radio Tower, and I went inside only to find I couldn't get past the lobby without a Team Rocket uniform.

I left the Radio Tower and talked with some of the Rocket Grunts, and one mistook me for a newcomer, telling me that I could get my uniform in the studio in the tunnel. I left to head underground and explore the tunnels, and I quickly came across a Rocket Grunt who explained that they needed to recruit new members for the Radio Tower mission, and that they ran out of uniforms. He told me he heard this studio had some, and so he decided to take some. I took the uniform and put it on, and he complimented me on my look, but advised me not to go around scaring people like that.

I went back inside the Radio Tower and talked to the Grunt guarding the stairs to the 2nd Floor. He moved aside and I started up the stairs, only for Aiden to come rushing over to confront the Grunt and I. He told us to stop going around troubling people, calling Team Rocket cowards. Unfortunately, he noticed who I was, and thought that I considered myself strong now that I looked like them. He told me that was foolish, and that I shouldn't wear such a uniform. I took off the uniform, and the Grunt realized I wasn't a Rocket Grunt myself.

After I fought off the Grunt, he realized how strong I am, and went up the stairs to warn the other Team Rocket Grunts that I was coming. Aiden realized I was trying to be sneaky, and thought it was just a sign of my weakness. However, he let me handle the Radio Tower, and told me he had to defeat the Dragon Tamer, Lance, before he left.

I went up the stairs and fought off several Grunts, and Lucas and Claire both grew to Level 32. I went up to the 3rd Floor and fought off several more Grunts, and Samuel and Blake both grew to Level 33. I talked to a woman near some locked doors, and she told me the Team Rocket Executive locked himself in there. She told me that the Director on the 5th Floor would have the Card Key needed to get through the doors, and I went up to the 4th Floor.

I fought a Grunt, and Claire grew to Level 33, while Seth was knocked out. I left the Radio Tower to heal my team, and I went to the Department Store to get healing items, before I headed back up the Tower. Before I continued further through the Grunts, I taught Seth the move Solar Beam in place of Poison Powder, and Sludge Bomb in place of Acid. With Seth using far more powerful moves, I knew I could get a lot farther.

I fought a couple more Grunts and Seth grew to Level 34, then I went up to the 5th Floor. I found the Director, announcing on the intercom his decision to broadcast wonderful shows to praise Team Rocket. He told them he didn't want to hear them complain, to just do a good job, before he noticed me standing nearby. I realized something was off, and the "Director" turned out to be Petrel again! It seemed Petrel was trying to impersonate the Director to influence the entire region to support Team Rocket.

I sent out Lucas to fight Petrel's Koffing, and he flew high while Koffing's attack missed, and when Fly hit it did great damage, before Koffing countered with Sludge for good damage. Lucas used Fly again to strike down Koffing, and then Weezing was sent out while I kept Lucas in the fight. Lucas used Twister for minor damage, then Weezing countered with Sludge for great damage. Lucas went high and avoided Sludge, then Fly hit for great damage before he was knocked out by Sludge.

I sent Claire out against Weezing, and she used Shadow Ball for massive damage to knock it out. Petrel sent out another Koffing, and I had Claire use Shadow Ball again, which knocked Koffing out in a single blow. I kept Claire in the fight for another Koffing, and another Shadow Ball took it out easily. Another Koffing was sent out, and it too went down from a Shadow Ball attack. Claire grew to Level 34, and one final Koffing was sent out to be taken out by Shadow Ball!

With Petrel defeated, he told me that they stashed the real Director in the underground warehouse, which I could find at the far end of the Goldenrod Tunnel. Petrel gave me the Basement Key to get to the underground warehouse, but he doubted I could make it that far. I left the building, healed my team at the Pokemon Center, and then went underground again.

I went through the underground, and encountered a Kimono Girl. She had seen the Team Rocket Grunts running around, and was wondering what was going on. I told her that I had taken on Team Rocket, and she was impressed, and was about to mention some Legendary Pokemon before stopping herself from revealing too much. She left, and I continued on.

I used the Basement Key on the steel doors, and then I went inside to find sstairs leading further underground. I went down the stairs, and spotted a few Rocket Grunts about, and before I could start fighting I was stopped by Aiden. He revealed that he had lied before, and was tailing me, hoping I would lead him to Lance. I didn't understand his obsession with the Dragon Tamer, but it was getting on my nerves.

Aiden told me that Lance never showed up, but he was planning to beat me after Lance, and would repay me for his "debts" he felt I owed him. I sent out Lucas against his Golbat, and Golbat used Air Cutter for great damage before Lucas flew up high. Golbat missed with another Air Cutter, and then got hit by Fly for great damage. Aiden withdrew Golbat and sent out Magnemite, and Lucas went high, then he attacked with Fly for good damage before it used Thunder Wave to paralyze Lucas. I sent out Samuel, and Magnemite used Spark for good damage. Samuel hit Magnemite with Flame Wheel for massive damage, and knocked it out.

Golbat was sent out again, and I sent out Edward to fight it. Edward hit it with Thunder Punch for massive damage and knocked it out, and he grew to Level 35. Sneasel was sent out next, and I sent Samuel out again to fight it. Sneasel used Faint Attack for good damage, then Samuel countered with Flame Wheel for massive damage. Samuel finished it off with Mach Punch, and grew to Level 34, and he stayed to fight Meganium.

Samuel hit Meganium with Flame Wheel for great damage, then it used Reflect to raise it's defense. Samuel used Flame Wheel again for great damage, then it used Synthesis to regain health. I used Paralyze Heal to cure Lucas of Paralysis, then Meganium used Petal Dance for good damage. I switched over to Lucas, and he got hit by Petal Dance for good damage. Meganium used Petal Dance again for great damage, and knocked out Lucas, then it got confused due to fatigue while I sent out Claire against it. Claire used Shadow Ball for massive damage, then Meganium hurt itself in it's confusion. Claire used Shadow Ball again and knocked out Meganium, then Haunter was sent out against her.

Claire used Shadow Ball against Haunter for massive damage, and knocked it out in a single blow! Aiden's last Pokemon was beat, and he lost yet again! He couldn't understand why he lost, when he assembled the strongest Pokemon he could find. He just didn't understand how friendship and kindness could strengthen a Pokemon and their bond with the Trainer, how both could become better because of being friends. Aiden started to question whether Lance was right, that he didn't treat Pokemon properly. He wondered if love and trust were really what he lacked, if they were keeping him from winning.

Aiden promised it wouldn't end here, not now, not because of this. He told me he wouldn't give up his dream of becoming the world's best Pokemon Trainer, then he left, and I healed my team before I started to battle more of the Rocket Grunts. Lucas grew to Level 33, and I solved a simple button puzzle before I continued fighting off Rocket Grunts, and a couple Burglars. Lucas grew to Level 34, and I opened up the gate leading back to the stairs before I went into the warehouse.

I fought a Grunt shortly after getting into the Warehouse, and Seth grew to Level 34. I fought against another Grunt who remembered me from their Hideout, and I beat him easily, and he was oddly entertained by the battle... I fought against one final Grunt, and Blake grew to Level 34, before I finally reached the Director. I grabbed TM82 (Sleep Talk) nearby before talking to him.

The Director was very grateful for the rescue, and I told him what had happened over at the Radio Tower. He gave me the Card Key, which I could use to open the shutters on the 3rd Floor. He begged me to help, worried about what Team Rocket would do if they controlled the transmitter. He believed I was the only one he could call on, and I promised him I would fight hard to beat Team Rocket and save the Radio Tower.

I healed my team at the Pokemon Center again, then I went back to the Radio Tower to battle the rest of Team Rocket. I used the Card Key to get through the door, and fought the Grunt guarding it before I went up the stairs to the 4th Floor. I found myself against Rocket Executive Proton, and he was still angry about me kicking his ass at the Slowpoke Well. I was more than happy to school him again in the art of Pokemon Battles.

I sent out Samuel against his Golbat, and Samuel used Flame Wheel for great damage before it countered with Confuse Ray. Samuel was confused, but used Mach Punch for minor damage before Golbat countered with Wing Attack for massive damage. I sent out Edward, and he got hit by Wing Attack for good damage, but his Static ability paralyzed Golbat. Edward used Thunder Punch to knock out Golbat, and Samuel grew to Level 35.

I kept Edward in the fight against Weezing, and he used Thunder Punch for great damage, before he got hit by Smoke Screen to lower his accuracy. Edward used Shock Wave for massive damage, and Weezing countered with Sludge for great damage. Edward finished Weezing off with Shock Wave, and the battle was won!

I left Proton in the dust as I ran up the stairs, and I encountered Rocket Executive Ariana at the elevator doors. She remembered me beating her in the hideout in Mahogany Town, and thought because I was all alone this time that she could beat me easily. She had no idea the amount of pain she was in store for!

Ariana sent out Arbok, and I sent out Lucas against it. Lucas used Gust for minor damage, and Arbok missed it's Glare attack. Lucas flew high, and avoided Glare, before it struck with Fly for great damage, and finally Arbok landed Glare to paralyze Lucas. Arbok used Crunch for good damage, then Lucas flew up high again, and he avoided an attack but fell from paralysis. I switched to Seth, and Arbok used Crunch for good damage. Arbok used Crunch again for great damage and a critical hit, then charged up for Solar Beam. Arbok used Crunch again, and Seth fainted before he could get the shot off.

I sent out Claire next, and she used Shadow Ball for massive damage to knock out Arbok, and she grew to Level 35. I sent out Edward against her Murkrow, and he used Thunder Punch for massive damage to knock it out in a single blow! Finally Vileplume was sent out, and I sent out Samuel against it. Samuel used Flame Wheel for massive damage, and it countered with Acid for minor damage.  Ariana was confused about my strength, and she could only remain that way as Samuel finished off Vileplume with another Flame Wheel!

I healed my team, and then went up the elevator to the observation deck. I found Rocket Executive Archer at the top, staring out into the city and beyond. He was impressed that I had made it all the way to him, and told me that they intended to take over the Radio Tower and officially announce their comeback. Archer thought it should bring their boss Giovanni back from solitary training. He promised me that Team Rocket would regain it's former glory, but I had no intention of letting them try!

Archer sent out Houndour, and I sent out Lucas. Lucas went high, and avoided Houndour's Fire Fang, then he struck with Fly for massive damage, before he got hit by Fire Fang for great damage. Lucas used Gust for great damage and knocked it out, then I had him stay in the fight against Koffing. Lucas flew high again, avoiding a Sludge attack, then he hit Koffing with Fly for great damage before it countered with Sludge for great damage. I switched out to Seth, who got hit by Sludge for great damage. Seth and Koffing traded blows with Cut and Sludge, each Pokemon taking good damage.

I gave Seth a Hyper Potion, and he got hit by Sludge again for great damage. Seth absorbed light, then got hit by Sludge for great damage before he used Solar Beam for massive damage, and knocked out Koffing. Finally Houndoom was sent out, and I sent Blake out against it. Houndoom used Bite for good damage, and Blake used Surf for massive damage, a critical hit that knocked it out in a single blow!

Archer was defeated, and with him even the strongest of Team Rocket was proven no match for my team and I. He couldn't understand how they lost, and despaired at their plans being crushed by me. Archer realized that he wasn't up to the task of leading the Team, and told me that like Giovanni had done before him, he would disband Team Rocket. He bid me farewell before he left the Radio Tower.

The Director came up after Archer left, and thanked me for defeating Team Rocket. He told me that my courageous actions had saved Pokemon nationwide, and I was glad to help. The Director gave me a Silver Wing for my efforts, and told me that there used to be a tower right where we stood. He told me that the Silver Wing was found at the top of the tower when it was being replaced. The Director told me that he heard I could go down the cave at Whirl Islands with this Silver Wing, but didn't explain any further. He left back to his office, and bid me farewell before he too left, stopping only to tell me that I would need something more than the Silver Wing to make the Legendary Pokemon appear.

I was glad to finally be rid of Team Rocket, and I hoped that I could just focus on getting my last Gym Badge and training my team for the Elite Four!

Pokemon SoulSilver - Mahogany Gym

I flew back to Mahogany Town to get my next Gym Badge. I had Edward at the head of my team as I went inside the building.

My team consisted of:

Edward (Electabuzz, Electric, Lv. 32)
Claire (Haunter, Ghost/Poison, Lv. 31)
Blake (Feraligatr, Water, Lv. 32)
Seth (Weepinbell, Grass/Poison, Lv. 32)
Samuel (Monferno, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 32)
Lucas (Pidgeotto, Normal/Flying, Lv. 31)

I found a Gym covered in ice, and I knew I would be dealing with Ice-Type Pokemon, and Water-Type Pokemon that could use Ice-Type attacks. The first room I was in had a simple sliding puzzle with a couple ice blocks in the center of a large patch of ice. I got through easily and moved on to the next room.

In the next room I fought a couple Trainers, and after a couple short battles I made my way through the next sliding puzzle. I had to move one block to the other, slide forward, and then slide to the end of the room to move to the next room. I fought another few Trainers as I made my way through the sliding puzzle, and Edward grew to Level 34 by the time I reached the end of the room.

I finally reached the Gym Leader, Pryce. He told me how Pokemon have many experiences in their lives, like people do, and how he had seen and suffered much in his life. He told me he would show me what he meant, and that he had been training Pokemon since before I was born.

Pryce sent out Seel, and Edward went out against it. Edward used Thunder Punch for massive damage, and knocked it out in a single blow. Next up was Piloswine, and I sent out Samuel against it. Samuel used Mach Punch for great damage, then it countered with Hail for minor, multi-turn damage. Samuel used another Mach Punch for great damage, then Piloswine used a Sitrus Berry to heal itself a bit, and then it countered with Mud Bomb for massive damage that left Samuel clinging on.

I switched over to Blake, who got hit by Ice Fang for good damage, and hurt a little by Hail. Blake used Surf against Piloswine for massive damage, and it was a critical hit that knocked it out! Finally Dewgong was sent out, and I sent Edward out against it. Edward used Shock Wave for massive damage, and it countered with Aurora Beam for great damage, then the hail stopped. Edward finished Dewgong off with Thunder Punch, and the battle was over!

With the battle won, Pryce congratulated me on my victory, and told me he knew I would overcome all life's obstacles. He then handed over the Glacier Badge, which raised the Special stats of my Pokemon. I could also use Whirlpool to get across real whilrpools. Pryce gave me TM07 (Hail) which does minor Ice-Type damage for 5 turns, but would not hurt Ice-Type Pokemon.

I left the Mahogany Gym feeling pleased with myself and my team, glad that I had beaten another Gym Leader quite easily. I felt like I was training my Pokemon well, and I felt confident in my ability to beat the Johto League just as I had the Hoenn League and the Sinnoh League.

I didn't take more than 3 steps before I got a call from Professor Elm, who told me that something weird was happening with the radio broadcasts. He said they were talking about Team Rocket! He asked if I knew anything about it, and worried that Team Rocket had returned. I healed my team, and got ready to fly to Goldenrod to take back the Radio Tower!

Current Team:

Edward (Electabuzz, Electric, Lv. 34)
Seth (Weepinbell, Grass/Poison, Lv. 32)
Samuel (Monferno, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 32)
Blake (Feraligatr, Water, Lv. 32)
Claire (Haunter, Ghost/Poison, Lv. 31)
Lucas (Pidgeotto, Normal/Flying, Lv. 31)

Pokemon SoulSilver - Second test at the Safari Zone

With HM05 (Whirlpool) in hand, I taught it to Blake in place of Scratch. It turned out to be a multi-turn move like Bind which would do damage every turn for several turns. I wondered if I would be forced to teach Blake another HM to traverse the world or if perhaps this was enough.

As I left the Pokemon Center, I got a call from Baoba and he told me that the second test was ready. I flew over to the Safari Zone where I met him, and he told me for my second test I needed to capture a Sandshrew and show it to him. He revealed to me that it wouldn't be as easy as it sounds, because it would not appear with the current Safari Zone setting. Baoba then led me to a machine, and explained that it would allow me to customize the Safari Zone Areas. He called the the Area Customizer, and it was certainly unique among the Safari Zones I had traversed thus far.

Baoba kept it's workings a secret, but told me that I shouldn't have trouble operating it. He told me to just talk to the staff next to him, then he went back to the table. When Baoba got to the table, he remembered one more thing, that he was in the middle of explaining the second test. He further explained that I would have to use the Area Customizer to change the Safari Zone areas to insert the desert area. He wished me luck, then relaxed at the table.

I went up to the Area Customizer, and turned it on, then I switched out the Mountain for the Desert and turned it off. I felt the ground shaking, then I heard a voice from the system tell me that the areas had been changed. I paid my dues and went out into the desert area, ready to get a Sandshrew.

I first spotted a Marowak, but I didn't want to grab it because I figured I could find a Cubone instead, if I hadn't already found it on the Pokewalker. My next find was a Sandshrew (Ground, Male, Lv. 16) and I tossed some Bait, before I threw a Safari Ball, and that single ball caught it! With my test already completed, I decided to explore the Desert area further.

I soon came across a Cubone (Ground, Male, Lv. 16) and caught it, then when I could only find the same four Pokemon I went and searched the other areas. All I was finding were Pokemon I had already caught or evolutions of Pokemon I had already caught, so I decided to leave, switch out Lucas for the Sandshrew, and then I went back to the Safari Zone building to show Baoba. He told me that I had passed the test... and that I was now the Safari Zone Owner!

Baoba told me he always wanted to see young people playing at the safari, and that he knew this would help me complete my Pokedex. He said that was why he had been thinking about the Safari Zone, and giving it to me. He asked that I continue to pay admission, and that they had their reasons, but I was more than happy to pay the fair price. He told me he'd keep thinking about how to create new, fun ways to help me complete my Pokedex. Finally Baoba told me to have fun at the Safari Zone, and I left to get Lucas back.

I knew I'd have to change the areas around and really explore the possibilities, but soon I'd have a great way to expand my Pokedex! Two Championships under my belt, and now I'm the owner of the Johto Safari Zone. I wondered what would happen next!

Current Team:

Claire (Haunter, Ghost/Poison, Lv. 31)
Blake (Feraligatr, Water, Lv. 32)
Seth (Weepinbell, Grass/Poison, Lv. 32)
Samuel (Monferno, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 32)
Edward (Electabuzz, Electric, Lv. 32)
Lucas (Pidgeotto, Normal/Flying, Lv. 31)

Pokemon SoulSilver - Team Rocket Mahogany HQ

I found Lance in the Souvenir Shop with his Dragonite, and he ordered it to use Hyper Beam against the Scientist I saw earlier. Lance asked me what took me so long, and then told me that the radio signal was coming from there. We confronted the man running the shop, and Lance found the stairs below the golden box the man was standing next to. Lance told me we should split up to check this place, and he went first into the dark.

I quickly went down the stairs, and found myself in the Team Rocket HQ! I started down a hallway, only to feel like someone was watching me. I looked around, then noticed the Persian statue nearby was glowing, before it flashed and an alarm sounded. A Rocket Grunt ran up quickly, trying to stop me. I sent out Claire against his Drowzee, and Shadow Ball knocked it out instantly. The Grunt sent out Zubat next, and another Shadow Ball took it out easily.

Just as I was about to move on, another Rocket Grunt ran up to fight. I sent out Claire against his Zubat, and Shadow Ball took it out. Rattata was sent out next, and I sent Samuel out to fight it. Samuel knocked it out with Mach Punch, then Grimer was sent out and Flame Wheel knocked it out instantly. The Grunt told me that they would keep coming at me for each alarm I tripped, then he ran off.

I continued through the hallways, avoiding a couple Persian alarm statues before coming across a Scientist who wanted to fight. He told me that this place was once a ninja hideout, and that there were traps around to confuse intruders like myself. I sent out Claire to fight his Magnemite, and she used Shadow Ball for massive damage that knocked it out instantly. Another Magnemite was sent out, and another Shadow Ball took it out easily. A third Magnemite was sent out, and it too was knocked out by Claire's Shadow Ball. Claire grew to Level 31, and the battle was won.

After the battle was over, the Scientist told me that his PC behind him turned off the Persian alarms, and I had half a mind to keep them on to train my Pokemon, but I knew it would be far better and easier to just shut them off. I turned off the alarm systems, then grabbed the Guard Spec nearby before continuing through the hallways. I found a Hyper Potion down one path, then continued on and found a Nugget.

I soon found a warp panel to the entrance of the labyrinth, and stairs going further down. I switched Blake to the head of the team, and he followed me further down. I met Lance near the stairs at that floor, and he asked if I was alright. He gave me medicine to heal my Pokemon, and told me to give my best, then he continued further through the hallways.

I followed after Lance, and came across a Grunt. He sent out Venonat, and I sent out Blake. Blake used Ice Fang and knocked it out, then another Venonat was sent out. Blake used Crunch on the next one, and knocked it out easily. I checked the large doors near him and found them locked, and that they needed a password. I went through the hallways and found another Grunt, whose Pokemon were easily defeated by Blake. I saw stairs going further down, and I went even deeper into this maze.

I came across Lance again, who told me that to unlock the door to the radio transmitter, I would need the voice of a certain person. He told me that person was named Petrel, the Team Rocket Executive. He told me he found out the Executive is hiding in their leader's office, but told me that room is also protected with a password. Lance left to try to find the password, while I went down another hallway to try to find it myself.

I found a Full Heal down one hallway, then TM49 (Snatch) from another, then I went into one room to fight against a Rocket Grunt. After I beat him, he told me the password was RATICATETAIL, then revealed that there was a second password to get to open the door. I found an X Special and a Protein nearby, then fought another Scientist. His Ditto was knocked out before it could transform into Blake. The Scientist didn't care at all for the Pokemon they were hurting, and was excited at the thought of turning up the signal strength across the region.

I fought against another Scientist, who was formally a Silph Co employee, now running research for Team Rocket. I beat him easily, and Blake and Samuel both grew to Level 32, then I had Seth follow along. The Scientist revealed that the signal, which drives Pokemon mad, was his research, and he hoped to get a promotion soon because of it. I felt like having Seth Vine Whip him, but unfortunately I knew that would solve nothing.

I fought the Grunt nearby, and after I beat her she revealed that the second password was SLOWPOKETAIL, with no idea that I had the first password. I went up a second set of stairs through a hallway to more stairs going back down, and I beat another Grunt before I went down. I started toward the office, only to be stopped by Aiden, who was there for some reason.

Aiden said I must really like Team Rocket to mess with them again. He asked who that man in the cape was, with the Dragonite, and he told me his Pokemon were no match at all. He told me he didn't care that he lost, he told me he could beat him by getting stronger Pokemon. Aiden was actually bothered by what Lance told him, that he doesn't love and trust his Pokemon enough, and it made him furious that he lost to a 'bleeding heart' like him. Aiden told me he didn't have time for the likes of me before leaving.

I grabbed a nearby Ultra Ball, then went through the door. The man there said he had been waiting for me, then introduced himself as Giovanni. I didn't buy it for a second, and told him he didn't sound anything like Giovanni, and didn't even look like him. He told me that he worked so hard to mimic him, then revealed himself to be Petrel, a Team Rocket Executive. He knew I was trying to sneak into the radio-transmitter room, but he wouldn't allow it. He told me the password was "Hail Giovanni" and I was a bit surprised to hear that from him. He told me that it wouldn't help though, that his voice was the only one it would react to.

I got ready for a fight, and sent out Seth against his Zubat. Seth dealt damage with Cut, then Zubat got him confused by Confuse Ray, and Seth hurt himself and took damage from Wing Attack before he took out Zubat with another Cut. I switched to Edward to fight against his Koffing, and he used Thunder Punch for massive damage, before Koffing countered with Smoke Screen to lower Edward's accuracy. Edward hit it with Shock Wave next, and it was knocked out. Finally, Petrel sent out Raticate, and Edward hit it with Thunder Punch for massive damage before it countered with Hyper Fang for massive damage, a critical hit that put Edward in the yellow. Edward finished it off with Headbutt, and the battle was over.

Petrel told me that since disbanding Team Rocket three years ago, Giovanni had gone missing. He told me that they were certain he's been waiting for the right time for their revival. Petrel suddenly laughed, and said that losing to me wouldn't change the fact that I can't get in the radio-transmitter room. Petrel ran off, and then the Murkrow that was standing nearby mimicked Petrel with "Hail Giovanni" in Petrel's voice! The Murkrow ran off, and I chased after it. I found TM46 (Thief) in one room, then went back up the other stairs to find the Murkrow.

I kept after the Murkrow through many hallways until it ended up at the door of the radio-transmitter room, and it screamed the password, mimicking the voice of Petrel, and the doors opened up. The Murkrow ran off after the door opened, and I went in to turn off the system, before I heard a voice from the doorway. I went back to find Ariana, another Executive, telling me they couldn't let me do as I please forever. She was worried about Team Rocket's pride being crushed by my countless victories, and told me it was time to finish me. She figured if her and another grunt fought me at the same time, that I would have no chance of winning.

Suddenly Lance ran up from another hallway, telling her to hold it. He said how unfair it was for there to be a two-on-one battle, and that he would join the battle. Ariana asked about my sense of dignity by having an accomplice, but I could only ask the same thing when she was bringing a grunt to fight me too. She said as interim boss of Team Rocket, she would show me how wrong it is to mess with Team Rocket.

I sent out Seth, and Lance sent out Dragonite, while Ariana and the Grunt sent out Arbok and Drowzee. Arbok's Intimidate cut Seth's and Dragonite's attack, then Dragonite went high, and so Arbok missed it's attack, then Seth used Poison Powder aginst Drowzee to poison it before it countered with Confusion for great damage. I sent out Claire in place of Seth, then Drowzee got hit by Fly for massive damage and was knocked out, then Arbok used Glare to paralyze Dragonite before Grimer was sent out. Claire used Shadow Ball on Arbok for massive damage, then Arbok used Crunch for massive damage against Claire, before Dragonite flew high and Grimer's Sludge attack missed.

Claire used Shadow Ball against Arbok for great damage, and knocked it out, and Seth grew to Level 32, then Dragonite was stopped by paralysis before Murkrow was sent out. I switched out to Edward after Claire was knocked out by Murkrow's Pursuit, then Grimer used Minimize to increase it's evasiveness. Edward used Thunder Punch to knock out Murkrow, then Dragonite flew up high again before Grimer used Mud-Slap against Edward for great damage. Gloom was sent in, then Edward missed with Thunder Punch, and got hit by Sweet Scent to lower his evasion, then Dragonite's Fly missed again before Mud-Slap was used again for great damage.

Edward used Shock Wave against Grimer and knocked it out instantly, then he grew to Level 32. Gloom used Mega Drain for minor damage against Edward, then Dragonite used Thunder for massive damage against Gloom. Edward finished off Gloom with Headbutt, and thus ended the battle.

Ariana was angry at her defeat, but told me it was fine, that the broadcast experiment was a total success. She said it didn't matter what happened to the hideout now, and that they had much bigger plans. Ariana claimed I would come to appreciate Team Rocket's true power soon enough, and that I should enjoy myself while I could. After they left, Lance apologized to me, telling me he just hung back because he saw how well I was doing. All that was left was to turn off the signal, then we went to the machine creating it.

Lance looked over the machine, and told me that he couldn't find a switch on it, and then told me we would have to make all the Electrode powering it faint. It wasn't the Electrode's fault, and it made us both sad to have to do this. Lance said that we should split the job, and I went on the one side to fight the few there. I healed Seth, then fought and knocked out the three Electrode. With all the Electrode knocked out, the signal was stopped. Lance met with me at the front of the machine again, and complimented me on stopping Team Rocket. He thanked me for my help, and gave me HM05 (Whirlpool) which I could use to get through whirlpools only after getting the Badge from Mahogany Gym.

Lance wondered if I would keep going, knowing that it's so hard to become a Champion. I told him that I certainly would, that my Pokemon were strong and that we were all up to the task. I told him that if I gave up that easily, I never would have chased this dream to begin with. He told me he looked forward to seeing me again, then he left.

I made it out of the HQ, and found the Souvenir Shop empty. When I left, I saw that the tree-like cover of the antenna had been taken off or destroyed, and the antenna stood bare, heavily damaged and never to send out any signal again. I healed my team, and I knew my next stop would be the Mahogany Gym.
