Pokemon Y - Laverre City and the Laverre Gym

While at the Laverre City Pokemon Center, I met up with Mr. Bonding again, and he gave me Encounter Power Lv. 1 to go with my other O-Powers. I also heard a little song about the end of the ancient war in Kalos, and tipped the singer before I left.

Laverre City was called "The city of otherworldly dreams" according to the sign there, and then I visited the Laverre Boutique where I bought a nice black v-neck t-shirt, and I went to the Pokemon Center to change my outfit with the black hat I had bought the other week as well. With a new style going on, I left the Pokemon Center again to explore the city further.

I received TM41 (Torment) from a kid before I went into a house to meet some of the other people living there. I didn't find much there, so I left and talked to a man at the nearby gate after that and received a Poke' Doll from him. I continued through the town, and received a Gengarite from a Hex Girl, then I did a bit more exploring.

I relaxed at a cafe there at the north side of the city, then I decided I would go to the Laverre Gym, which was an old building built inside of a mushroom-covered tree.

My team consisted of:

Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 45)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 46)
Cadence (Floette, Fairy, Lv. 45)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 45)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 45)
Axel (Pikachu, Electric, Lv. 45)

I was told by the Gym Guide that the Laverre Gym was a Fairy-Type Gym, and that I needed to make my way around the brightly-colored gym with warp panels. I went right, and found myself in another room of this fairy-tale designed Gym.

The first room I found myself in was a sewing room with fabrics, books, and shelves where someone would design dresses. I took another warp panel and found myself in a bathroom. I continued on and found myself in a study where I finally met with a Trainer. I got into a quick battle and won, and I continued on.

I found myself in some kind of living room where another Trainer stood there waiting for me. We had a short battle, and Logan grew to Level 46, then I continued onto another warp panel. I went back a couple times through the panels I tried, then after a time I found myself in another room, some kind of dressing room it seemed.

There was nobody there, so I continued on, and found a kitchen and dining room where I managed to sneak by a Trainer, before I got onto another warp panel and reached a bedroom. I got into another battle with another Trainer here, and through the battle Brody grew to Level 46. I continued on, and finally found the Gym Leader.

I went up to her, and the Gym Leader introduced herself as Valerie. She spoke of the surprising strength of Fairy-Type Pokemon, and then we battled.

I sent out Logan against her Mawile, and he struck with Petal Dance for massive damage, before it countered with Crunch for minor damage. Logan struck again with Petal Dance, being locked into the attack, and it knocked out Mawile before Logan grew confused.

I kept Logan in the fight when Mr. Mime was sent out, and while though he was confused Logan managed to attack with Venoshock for massive damage that left Mr. Mime deep in the red, and then Mr. Mime used Light Screen to increase it's special defense. Valerie used a Hyper Potion after that, and Logan was still confused and hurt himself. I had Logan try again, but he hurt himself once more before he got hit by Pschic for massive damage.

I switched over to Gabriel, who received a Psychic attack for great damage. I had Gabriel go high, and Mr. Mime used Reflect to increase defense before Fly struck for good damage, then it used Psychic to do massive damage to Gabriel. I decided to switch to Axel, who took a Psychic attack for massive damage. Axel attacked next with Thunderbolt for great damage, then Mr. Mime knocked him out with Psychic.

I sent Cadence out next, and Valerie used a Hyper Potion to heal Mr. Mime before Cadence attacked with Magical Leaf for minor damage. I found myself in trouble, and sent Brody out when Mr. Mime used Light Screen once more to increase special defense. I had Brody go underground, and Mr. Mime used Reflect next to increase defense, before Brody struck with Dig for great damage. Mr. Mime attacked with Psychic after that for minor damage.

I found that Brody could take the attack without much difficulty, so I had Brody attack with Strength for great damage, and Mr. Mime countered with Psychic for good damage. I had Brody attack once more with Strength, and Mr. Mime was knocked out!

Gabriel grew to Level 47, and there was only one Pokemon left. I switched to Logan while Valerie sent out Sylveon. I used a Hyper Potion to heal Logan, who got hit by Dazzling Gleam for minor damage, and then reflect wore off. Logan struck with Venoshock next, and it did great damage, then Sylveon countered with Dazzling Gleam once more for minor damage. Logan kept up the attack with Venoshock, and it did massive damage to knock Sylveon out and win the battle!

Cadence grew to Level 46, and learned Moon Blast in place of Fairy Wind, and Jack also grew to Level 46. After the battle, Valerie handed me the Fairy Badge, which would allow me control of Pokemon up to Level 80, and she also handed over TM99 (Dazzling Gleam) as well. She talked about the designs of her dresses, telling me they were like that because she always wanted to be a Pokemon, but admitted that she found the only time she feels truly at one with Pokemon is when she's in a battle.

I left the Laverre Gym, proud of my team and feeling a newfound respect for Fairy-Type Pokemon after the difficulty I had beating her. I heard someone calling to me when I left, and I found Shauna and Trevor there to greet me. Shauna told me she and Trevor were going to go to the Poke' Ball Factory, and asked that I come with them.

I went to the Pokemon Center to heal my team, and I taught Dazzling Gleam to Cadence in place of Magical Leaf before I decided to call it a day. I would have to check out the Poke' Ball Factory later.

Current Team:

Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, LV. 46)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 47)
Cadence (Floette, Fairy, Lv. 46)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 46)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 46)
Axel (Pikachu, Electric, Lv. 45)

Pokemon Y - Going to Laverre City

I headed north through the gate to Route 14, and I couldn't even get past the stone steps before I heard Trevor calling to me from further north. He stood by Serena, and told me that they were comparing their Pokedex entries. Trevor won the comparison between them, but I saw more Pokemon in the Kalos Mountain Region than he did.

Serena wanted a battle after that, and she sent out Meowstic while I sent out Logan against it. I suspected it was an Ice-Type Pokemon, and I switched out to Gabriel, who took a hit but burned Meowstic thanks to his ability. Gabriel struck with Flame Charge for great damage, then Meowstic countered with Psychic for great damage, then it got hurt by burn. Gabriel struck with another Flame Charge for great damage, and it attacked with Disarming Voice for minor damage before it was knocked out by it's burn.

Logan grew to Level 44, and then I sent Cadence out against Serena's Absol. Absol attacked with Quick Attack for minor damage, then Cadence attacked with Fairy Wind for massive damage. Cadence attacked with Fairy Wind once more, and Absol was knocked out.

Gabriel grew to Level 45, and Jack grew to Level 44, then I sent Gabriel out against Serena's last Pokemon, Chesnaught. Gabriel attacked with Flame Charge for great damage, then it countered with Seed Bomb for minor damage. Gabriel struck next with Acrobatics, and it did massive damage to knock out Chesnaught. Cadence grew to Level 44, and the battle was won.

Shauna came by, and complimented us on having an intense battle. She asked where Tierno was, and Trevor told her that he was at the Fighting dojo. Tierno came by quickly, telling us he lost track of time during a sparring dance. Serena asked him if he found any good Pokemon for his dance team, and he told us that he did, that he was very close to his ideal dance team. I was glad he had managed to get something worthwhile done on his journey thus far, as he seemed to be the least capable of the bunch.

Shauna told us we should all go to the scary house, by Laverre City, which Trevor thought was just a rumor, but Shauna was determined to find out if it was real. Serena said she'd pass, sure it was just a rumor. She went north, and Trevor and Tierno followed, and Shauna started on, before she asked why I was traveling. She said that everyone is working really hard at what they want to do, but told me that she's just all about memories, goofing around. She left after that, and I went back to Lumiose City to heal my team before I went north.

I quickly got into a battle with a Pokemon Ranger, and Axel grew to Level 44. I found a Big Mushroom nearby, then I wandered over to some tall grass where I found a new Pokemon, Goomy, but it was knocked out by Axel after escaping a couple Pokeballs. Brody grew to Level 45, and I looked around for another.

After some time I found another Goomy (Dragon, Female, Lv. 30) and after a time I finally caught it. It took some effort to catch it, but I had another new Pokemon. I went through the marsh and found a Cleanse Tag, then I got into another battle with another Pokemon Ranger. It went quickly, and then I got into another battle with a Hex Girl.

I beat the Hex Girl and continued through the marsh to get into another battle with another Pokemon Ranger, and through the battle Logan grew to Level 45, and learned Synthesis in place of Leech Seed, and Gabriel grew to Level 46. I got TM06 (Toxic) from a Hex Girl nearby, then I got into a battle with another Trainer, and Axel grew to Level 45. I grabbed TM61 (Will-O-Wisp) nearby before I continued north.

I was spotted by Shauna, who ledt me off the main path to find a spooky house. Trevor and Tierno were both there as well, and Trevor suggested we go inside, though Tierno was scared of the house. Shauna and Trevor were both eager to go inside, and I figured I'd check it out too. We found a man inside, who told us a story.

He told us it was a dark and stormy night many years ago when he arrived at this house while lost. He said the lights wouldn't turn on, so he looked around the house and found his way to the kitchen with no sign of anyone there. He said he opened the fridge, and a faint light leaked out, and he could make out his surroundings.

It was in the light that he saw the faint outline of a man huddling in the corner of the room, and he tried to tell the man that he was lost and hoping he could stay until morning, but when he approached the man screamed "Stay back!" He apologized, and asked if the man could help him, but the man shouted "I'm not talking to you!"

He was surprised, and the man asked him "Can't you see them? Behind you! A horde of faceless men!" He asked for a tip after that creepy story, and everyone was confused that he was charging us for a story. He told us that even haunted houses aren't free, and I gave him a small tip before we all left.

Everyone left, and I continued north to finally reach Laverre City. I went to the Pokemon Center to heal my team, and decided to call it a day.

Current Team:

Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 45)
Axel (Pikachu, Electric, Lv. 45)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 45)
Cadence (Floette, Fairy, Lv. 45)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 45)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 46)

Pokemon Y - Exploring Lumiose City

I wandered around Lumiose City for a bit, and I found a couple Skaters who taught me new moves, one being a "Drift-and-Dash" and the other being a backflip I could perform off of ledges. I also found a nice little shop offered baked goods called Lumiose Galettes, and I bought one and received a free Moomoo Milk to go with it.

I found a couple Trainers willing to battle as I wandered around the maze-like city, one being lost by a cafe and others just standing around in alleyways. I defeated them all, and through the battles Axel, Cadence, and Logan all grew to Level 43, and Brody grew to Level 44. I also received an Elixir from a Beauty that I defeated, which was a pleasant surprise.

I went to the northern Pokemon Center and healed my team, then I decided to look up a map of Lumiose City so that I could best explore this massive, winding city. I went into Hotel Richissime on North Boulevard, and found Mr. Bonding, and he gave me Bargain Power Lv. 1 which would allow me to more cheaply purchase items at Poke' Marts. This seemed like it would be very useful for what I had heard of acquiring Style Points in Lumiose City.

I talked to people in the lobby, and spoke with some members of the staff. I was surprised when one of them offered me a job there, and I accepted for some quick cash. I could chose to do Room Service, make beds, or work Lost and Found. I decided to work Room Service. I met with the concierge, Stew, and he told me that he wanted me to correctly remember guests' orders. I soon got a call at the desk, and the guest placed an order for Mild Iapapa Berry Stroganoff, Sludge Wave style, and I gave Stew the order.

The woman at the desk told me my work was perfect after the guest was absolutely thrilled with getting their order, and I received $2000 for my work. After that I decided to explore the hotel floor by floor, and talk with the guests staying there. One of the guests was an odd girl who wanted to listen to the elevator, and another guest on the top floor gave me TM49 (Echoed Voice), but there was little else to see at that point so after that I went back down to the lobby to leave.

My next stop was the Lumiose Museum, which stored much beautiful artwork free to view, but I decided to spend some cash on an audio guide so I could learn more of the artwork. I went to the right and found several paintings that were part of a set, all depicting scenery that inspired overseas artists while they were visiting Kalos.

I went to the left after that and looked at more artwork, which depicted scenes of other regions, which included Sinnoh's Battle Frontier, Unova's Castelia City, and Johto's Ecruteak City. I decided to talk to some of the people there who were admiring the artwork, and one of them gave me TM82 (Dragon Tail).

I headed up to the next floor after that, where I found some lovely artwork of people interacting with Pokemon. One was of Mr. Briney and his Wingull, Peeko, both of whom I had met when I started my journey in Hoenn. I went to the right side of the second floor, and found artwork depicting the marvels of engineering that were the Kalos Power Plant and the Pokeball Factory, all four part of a series focused on technology in Kalos.

I went to the top floor, and checked out the artwork to the right which seemed to depict historical Kalos in different styles. The artwork was interesting, but nothing really stood out to note except for one of a portrait of royalty that requested the artist add Mew to the picture to make him seem more regal.

I went to the left side of the top floor and found a few pieces of artwork that depicted various subjects. One of the pieces was about the Battle Subway of Unova, featuring a couple Trainers and their pokemon battling it out on a speeding subway train, while another featured a Trainer and his Pokemon finding a fossil in the Sinnoh Underground. I felt myself missing the underground and the excitement of finding new items and fossils, and building up my own secret base.

I left the museum after that, and referred to the map I found to see more of the city. I went along North Boulevard and found Cafe Ultimo, a place for Super Training fanatics. The people there described Super Training to me, and it seemed like I would need to do some research on this Super Training if I wanted to make my ultimate team.

I found Cafe Action nearby, which was apparently for those who were fanatical about Trainer PR Videos. One of the people there gave me a new text style, but there wasn't much else to do there. I had remade my own Trainer PR video and set it to my favorites the night before, so that I could have something good to show.

I left the cafe and went into another building nearby. I was given a Star Piece from a scientist who was there as thanks for letting her see Cadence. I went up in the elevator and talked with people on the second floor who were working in cubicles, and most of them were predictably annoyed at having to work on such a lovely day. I went up to the fourth floor and talked with more people who were working up there, and I received a Prism Scale from a little girl.

I left the building and looked to my map to see where I was and what else I could do. I quickly found the Battle Institute, which would give me Battle Points and prizes based on how skilled I was battling against five Trainers in a row. It seemed that I would have to become the Champion to even attempt a test though, so I left soon after.

I found Cafe Bataille and went inside, and was told it was a cafe for Trainers dedicated to Pokemon Battles. I saw four Black Belts along the wall, and I talked with each of them to get very useful advice on Abilities and moves that Pokemon can use and how they could work in my favor.

I went down Autumnal Avenue and found several places to explore, the first of which being the Poke' Ball Botique. I talked to the people inside and received Heal Balls from one girl before I talked with the lady working at the counter. I had heard that getting lots of style points was as easy as buying lots of the Premier Balls which were sold there for a good price, but I would have to buy them one at a time.

I sold the Star Piece I had for almost $5000, and I started buying up a bunch of Premier Balls, one at a time, until I had 20 of them in my bag. I thought that would be enough to get into Botique Couture, which was the only reason I wanted to increase my Style to begin with. I went ahead and bought a few Dusk Balls while I was at it, for later use, then I left.

I went into nearby Cafe Pokemon-Amie, which was for Trainers who dedicated themselves to Pokemon-Amie. Pokemon-Amie is a system that allows a Trainer to play with their Pokemon and grow closer through fun activities. While I did spot a new Pokemon in the cafe, there wasn't much for me to do there, so I left and continued to explore.

I found Restaurant Le Yeah nearby, a two-star restaurant which featured Triple Battles, four in a row, and at the end of each battle I would eat a different course of my meal. I didn't feel like going through all that at this time, because it still seemed like I had a lot to explore, but I knew I would have to come back later.

The next place I found was the Juice Shoppe, which offered either premium Berry Juice or fresh-made Berry Juice created from my own stock of berries. I did a bit of research and found out that depending on what Berries I selected I could create juices that would alter the growth of my Pokemon, and I wasn't exactly interested in trying to figure all that out.

I continued exploring and found myself in Rogue Alley where I spotted a vacant storefront that was recently rented out, though the renter had not gotten there yet. I left there and also found Sushi High Roller, but the bouncer wouldn't let me in unless I got famous, because it was a restaurant for VIPs only.

I continued on to Hibernal Avenue, and first checked out Cafe Kizuna, which seemed to be a Cafe popular with people who had strong friendships with Pokemon. I left the cafe and went next door to Restaurant Le Wow, which was only open to Trainers who were as strong as the Champion.

I went to Jaune Alley and found an apartment there, which I discovered was the home of Trevor. It turned out that his parents were Pokemon Trainers who were out in the world training their Pokemon, and it seemed they left Trevor and his siblings there in Kalos.

I next visited Vert Alley, and got into a battle with a Punk Girl, though it only took Logan one attack to win the battle. I visited Cafe Cyclone after that, which didn't seem to have a focus to it. I heard a poem, saw someone put on a costume, and met a poor Furfrou who wanted to get a proper grooming. I tipped them all and left for new sights.

Finally I reached  Estival Avenue, the last road I needed to visit. I went to the Loto-ID Center, which had a daily lotto ticket number to be matched to your Pokemon's ID number. I didn't win, but I knew I could keep coming back for the chance of getting some good items.

I checked out Cafe Rouleau after that, a place for Roller Skaters like myself to gather. It was there I learned my last trick, "the 360" which I could use to spin off a ramp. I left there to check out the last cafe in the city, Cafe Gallant, which seemed almost empty of customers but seemed to employ only men.

I ended my exploration of Lumiose City with a visit to Lumiose Press, the major newspaper publisher of Lumiose City. I was told by a woman in the office that the editor-in-chief had been gone for a long time, and that she left a note on the desk. The memo on the desk said she'd be away to pursue the Mythical Pokemon, and that she would first go deep into the mountains.

I met up with the woman who gave me the Exp. Share, the journalist Alexa, and she told me that while she would go around the world for news that her focus was Lumiose City. Alexa told me that she knew everything about the city, and offered to tell me about all of Lumiose's hottest spots upon request.

Before I would call it a day, I decided to go to the Boutique Couture and see if I could even get in, and to my pleasant surprise I was allowed to shop there. The shop had two floors, the first floor dedicated to women's clothing and the second floor dedicated to men's clothing. They had some great styles I was interested in purchasing, but I didn't have the cash necessary to purchase what I wanted.

I went to a nearby Pokemon Center to heal my team, and called it a day. I spent enough time sightseeing, it was time to get back to my journey!

Current Team:

Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 43)
Cadence (Floette, Fairy, Lv. 43)
Axel (Pikachu, Electric, Lv. 43)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 43)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 44)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 44)

Pokemon Y - The Lumiose Gym and Lysandre Cafe

I headed toward the central tower in Lumiose City, called Prism Tower, and I noticed a Gym logo on the tower, just above what looked like a large doorway. I met up with Shauna there, and she pointed out a boy standing at this doorway. She told me his name was Clemont, and that he was the Lumiose City Gym Leader. She went on to explain that he's an inventor who has apparently created many different things. I also found out that she and Clemont were friends.

I watched as Clemont and a little girl stood by the tower, the former checking out the lighting circuit to make sure it was in working order. The girl noticed Shauna there, and called out to her, wondering if she was a challenger, and asked her to wait a moment. She demanded that Clemont hurry up, and he was soon ready to light up the tower. I watched as he activated the lighting system, and the Prism Tower suddenly glowed brightly, lights activating from the bottom to the top.

Shauna commented on feeling entranced, and told me she was happy to share another great memory with me. Meanwhile, Clemont was happy to see his Prism Tower lighting system working just as well as all his other inventions, but the girl (I assumed to be his sister) wasn't impressed. She reminded him that challengers were waiting for him, and then she told Shauna and I that Prism Tower itself is Lumiose City's Pokemon Gym, which I was surprised by.

The two went inside, and Shauna admired his inventions. She told me she had been given an invention of his that solves puzzles, but told me that it always feels like a shame to use it, and so she hasn't yet. She wished me luck at the Gym, and I was free to take on the challenge.

My team consisted of:

Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 41)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 42)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 41)
Axel (Pikachu, Electric, Lv. 42)
Cadence (Floette, Fairy, Lv. 41)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 43)

I was informed by the Gym Guide that the Lumiose Gym was focused on Electric-Type Pokemon, and that it was also known as a quiz gym. I wondered what he meant by that, but he wouldn't elaborate further. I found myself wishing that Brody knew more Ground-Type moves than just Dig, but it would have to do. At least Logan was resistant to Electric-Type moves because of being a Grass-Type Pokemon.

The bottom floor was a place with blue and green lights flashing on the walls, and glowing white panels on the floors. There was also a central pillar at the center with doors, and I talked to a couple sightseers before I went to the pillar and headed up.

I went up to the next floor, and found a room with three doors, a small stage, and a screen on the wall. The room lit up and Trainers came out of the doors, while the little girl from before greeted me at the stage. She introduced herself as Bonnie, and told me that she was in fact Clemont's sister. She advised me to step on a panel ahead of me.

I was quizzed on Pokemon, having to name the Pokemon that was outlined. The picture was of a Pikachu like Axel, and I went to door 3 to battle the Trainer there. The Trainer's Dedenne went down fairly quickly, and Logan and Cadence grew to Level 42. I went into the elevator, ans was told my answer was correct, and I headed up to the next floor.

On the next floor I was shown the outline of a Fletchling, like Gabriel was when I first caught him. I went to door 1 and gave Brody a Lucky Egg before I battled the Trainer there. The Trainer's Raichu went down with a single Dig attack, and Brody grew to Level 42, and I taught him Bounce in place of Agility. My answer was correct, and I moved on.

I stepped forward for another quiz, and I saw a picture of one of the elemental monkey Pokemon, which looked to be Panpour. I went to door 3 and battled the Trainer there, who had an Ampharos, and his Pokemon went down after a short battle. Diggersby was paralyzed by the Ampharos' Static ability, and I went into the elevator and was told that my answer was correct.

I went up to the next floor, and healed Brody of his paralysis and gave him a Potion before I stepped forward to see an outline of Butterfree, and another Kalos Bug/Flying-Type Pokemon I believed to be named Vivillion, and then another Bug/Flying-Type Pokemon I recognized as another that originated from Sinnoh, though I couldn't remember the name.

She asked me which one was Vivillion, and choose which of the doors I believed would be the answer. I was sure it was door 2, and got into another battle. The Trainer's Plusle went down with one Strength attack, and Brody grew to Level 43. I went into the elevator and found that I was correct, and I went up to face the Gym Leader.

I took the Lucky Egg from Brody so he wouldn't go too far ahead of the others, and I stepped forward to confront Clemont. I stepped onto the stage that he was standing on, and he thanked me for coming before his sister, Bonnie, introduced him formally. She warned me that her brother was strong, and Clemont pulled her aside to tell her that strength of the Trainers had nothing to do with anything, that we were only here because of the strength of our Pokemon.

The battle started with Clemont popping a couple mechanical arms from his backpack, and he sent out Emolga while I sent Brody out against it. Emolga used Aerial Ace for good damage before Brody countered with Strength for great damage. Emolga used another Aerial Ace for good damage before Brody knocked it out with Strength.

Heliolisk was sent out next, and I kept Brody in the fight. Heliolisk used Quick Attack for good damage, then Brody burrowed underground. Brody avoided a Quick Attack, and then struck with Dig to knock Heliolisk out.

Jack grew to Level 43, and then I sent Gabriel out to fight against the last Pokemon, Magneton. Gabriel struck with Flame Charge for massive damage, but it clung on to use Electric Terrain which made electricity flow through the ground. The move seemed to do nothing, and I had Gabriel attack with Flame Charge once more for great damage which knocked out Magneton. Gabriel grew to Level 44, and learned Acrobatics in place of Razor Wind.

The battle was won, and when Bonnie was shocked at her brother's loss, Clemont told her that there's no shame in losing. He told her that he's glad whenever he gets to learn something new thanks to strong challengers like myself. With that, Clemont handed me the Voltage Badge, which would allow me to control Pokemon up to Level 70. Clemont also handed over TM24 (Thunderbolt) as well.

Clemont got irritated with Bonnie when she told me about the move, apparently regularly interrupted by his sister because of her youthful energy, though he didn't seem like he was much older than she was. He told me that his desire was to enjoy every day to the fullest with his Pokemon while doing the science that he loves with his inventing.

- - -

I left the gym, and received a Holo Clip from Professor Sycamore. He wanted to talk with me for a bit, and asked that I come to the Lysandre Cafe, which was located by the Pokemon Center by Prism Tower. He said it was the red Cafe, and that I could hop into a taxi if I couldn't find it.

I went around Centrico Plaza and found a Photo Spot and got a picture of myself in front of Prism Tower. I found myself desperately wishing that Lumiose City had it's own map on my device, but I made my way to the Magenta Plaza, and quickly found the Lysandre Cafe. I saw Professor Sycamore and Lysandre there talking, and Sycamore called me over.

I made my way to them inside this red cafe, and Sycamore told me they were having a conversation about Mega Evolution. Lysandre congratulated me and told me that he wished he too could use Mega Evolution. Sycamore revealed to me that Lysandre is of royal ancestry, descended from the king's younger brother. He admitted though that because the story was 3,000 years old it might not be entirely reliable.

Sycamore asked if I knew where the Holo Caster is made, to which I told him no, I didn't, and he said that they're made in Lysandre's lab. He touted Lysandre qualities, and said that he supports Trainers and Pokemon research with some profits from the Holo Caster. Lysandre told me that people could be divided into two groups, those who give and those who take. He said it was just as the Kalos region's two Legendary Pokemon gave life and took life.

Lysandre continued, telling me he wanted to be the kind of person who gives, but said that in this world some foolish humans exist who would show show their strength by taking what isn't theirs. He denounced those people as filth, and told me about the king of Kalos who wanted to take everything for his own, and how in that greed he created a terrible weapon which unleashed a fire of destruction.

Lysandre said that Kalos was currently beautiful, and that there would be no foolish actions if the number of people and Pokemon don't increase. He continued on to say that the future isn't decided, and said that you can't be sure that each day will be like the one before. Lysandre did have something good to say of the king though, that while his actions were reprehensible that the ultimate weapon DID manage to wash the world clean of that era's filth.

Lysandre gave me a King's Rock and thanked me for listening, and said that the King's Rock was an apology for taking up my time. Lysandre left, leaving Sycamore and I alone with the other patrons. Sycamore commented on Lysandre's passion, like a blazing flame, and wondered if the pride in his lineage is what makes him burn so intensely.

Sycamore told me that what Lysandre says is only one way of looking at things, and that it wasn't necessarily the truth. He told me that what was truly important is the time you spend together with others, and told me to treasure these moments spent traveling the Kalos region with my Pokemon.

I left the Lysandre Cafe, and got another Holo Clip, this time from Trevor. He told me that they were all going to meet on Route 14, and asked that I join them. I would eventually meet up with the others, but I decided I would go to the Pokemon Center to heal my team.

I called it a day, because I knew I would have to explore this huge city before I could continue on. There was so much to see and do, and I wanted to experience it all while I had a break on my journey!

Current Team:

Cadence (Floette, Fairy, Lv. 42)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 42)
Axel (Pikachu, Electric, Lv. 42)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 43)

Pokemon Y - Kalos Power Plant

I started the day taking care of some berries, and thanks to a few battles I got into with Bug-Type Pokemon who were attacking the trees I was able to get Logan and Brody both to Level 39. I looked around the boutique shops and didn't find much I was interested in, so I went ahead and started south from Coumarine City.

I couldn't even reach the gate to Route 13 when I got a Holo Clip. It was from Lysandre, the red-haired man I met earlier. He was informed by Professor Sycamore that I could use Mega Evolution, and congratulated me. He said I could steer my future in a better direction, then commented on how we can't cover up the old filth with new filth. He then asked me to consider what we need to do to change the world into a new and beautiful world.

The Holo Clip ended, and with that odd message I continued to the gate. While at the gate I heard of the Kalos Power Plant being located on Route 13, and I was given Black Sludge before I started heading south. Before I could even leave the gate, I heard someone shouting at me, and found the two scientists, Sina and Dexio, waiting for me. They told me they were on their way to the Power Plant at Professor Sycamore's request, but said that the gate connecting Lumiose City to Route 13 had been shut by a power outage.

Sina reminded me of Central Kalos and Costal Kalos, and then Dexio told me that there was another area, called Mountain Kalos. They updated my Pokedex with the Mountain Kalos Pokedex entries, and then Sina commented on how I looked more mature than the last time we met. They left after that, and finally I could move on.

I went south on the rocky terrain of Route 13, and I found a PP Up, Smooth Stone, and an X Accuracy, and through several battles with Wild Pokemon both Cadence and Axel grew to Level 39. I continued on and kept having Pokemon chasing after me from underground, and through several more battles Jack grew to Level 40.

I kept going through Route 13 but kept getting attacked by Ground-Type Pokemon who prevented me from escaping by because of their Arena Trap abilities. I managed to find a Flame Plate as I continued on, and soon enough I found a member of Team Flare guarding a bridge.

I confronted the Flare Grunt and fought him, and through the battle Logan and Axel both grew to Level 40. It turned out that this was a Grunt that I had fought previously, and I wondered just how many of these useless jokers were ACTUALLY causing harm in the region. He tried to run away, but realized that he lost his Power Plant Pass.

I managed to find it, and I healed my Pokemon before I went to the mechanical door and used the Pass to enter the Power Plant. I ran down a long hallway before I reached the Power Plant proper. I was quickly spotted by another useless Flare Grunt, and through it both Brody and Cadence grew to Level 40.

After I beat the Flare Grunt, he revealed that Team Flare was redirecting the power that's supposed to go to Lumiose City, but didn't reveal where it was going or for what. He warned me not to get in their way, but I went past him to stop his buddies. I found a room nearby where all the workers and scientists were currently held by Team Flare. I snagged a Zap Plate there and continued through the Power Plant.

I fought against another Flare Grunt, but she was beaten quickly enough, and afterwards I continued through the Power Plant. I found myself in a major part of the Power Plant, and I was stopped by another Flare Grunt who was itching for a fight. His Pokemon went down quickly, and Gabriel grew to Level 42.

The Flare Grunt refused to move out of my way, so I had to try finding another way through, and I quickly got into another battle with another Flare Grunt. Jack grew to Level 41 through the battle, and I continued along trying to stop Team Flare. I got into another battle, and through the battle Logan grew to Level 41.

I got into yet another battle with another Flare Grunt, and Axel, Cadence, and Brody ALL grew to Level 41, then I healed my team before I continued along. I got into another battle after that, and the Flare Grunt went down quick. I had to deal with another Flare Grunt after that, and I started to get frustrated at the amount of these useless assholes I had to deal with.

Finally I found the assholes running the operation at the heart of the Power Plant. They were talking among themselves about having enough energy to power some device, but they noticed me before they could reveal anything else. I fought against a Team Flare Admin, whose Houndoom went down easily against Jack, and through the battle Jack grew to Level 42 while Gabriel grew to Level 43.

The Flare Admin backed off after his defeat, and ordered his scientist to fight me. I put Logan at the head of the team, and fought against the scientist, Aliana, who sent out Mightyena, while Logan went out against it. I had Logan Mega Evolve before he used Petal Dance for massive damage, which knocked Mightyena out instantly.

Axel grew to Level 42, and the battle was over. The scientist, Aliana, laughed, and said she didn't expect me to be so interesting. She hoped we could meet again, and left with the other members of Team Flare. Soon enough Sina and Dexio came up to me, dressed in unusual costumes, and disappointed that I had taken care of Team Flare before they could get there.

Sina healed my team as thanks for saving the Power Plant, and complimented the strength of my team while simultaneously warning me not to push myself too hard. Dexio handed over some Full Restores, and told me that power was back on in Lumiose City. He told me I could go through the gate at Route 13 to Lumiose City once more, and they left.

I checked on the workers before I left, and I received TM43 (Flame Charge) and a Magnet as thanks for saving the Power Plant. I left the Power Plant and went south, and I snagged a Sun Stone before I went down some stairs, and found myself before a towering stranger. He mentioned a flower Pokemon, one that was given eternal life, and then wandered off toward Lumiose City.

I got back to Lumiose City, and heard Shauna call for me. She ran up to me and told me she had been running after me for a while. She had heard that the power had been returned to Lumoise City, and that the Power Plant had been under attack by Team Flare. I told her that I was the one who saved the Power Plant, and she couldn't believe it. Shauna told me they were going to light up the big tower at the center of the city, which we could see from our position.

The tower, called Prism Tower, was at the center of the city. I decided I would call it a day though, and explore more of the city later. My team had deserved a break after all that work, but I would continue on soon.

Current Team:

Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 41)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 42)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 41)
Axel (Pikachu, Electric, Lv. 42)
Cadence (Floette, Fairy, Lv. 41)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 43)

Pokemon Y - Azure Bay, Coumarine City, and the Coumarine Gym

I decided to go back on the Monorail to reach the first part of Coumarine City where the docks were, because I wanted to go and check out the bay near there. I rode the Monorail, and when I got there I found a girl on a hill overlooking the dock. I passed a quiz she had, and I received TM63 (Embargo) for my prize.

I visited the Coumarine Hotel,  where I received a Lucky Egg from a girl in the lobby. I went up to the second floor, where I met the Director, who asked that I show him my Pokedex when I've filled it up. With little else to do there, I handed the Lucky Egg to Brody before I left.

I continued along to the bay, and I got a Good Rod as I crossed the port, and I also received a Silk Scarf from an elderly man before I reached Route 12. I surfed on Jack and went north from Route 12 to find a Water Stone, then I continued heading north to reach Azure Bay.

I soon got into a battle, and afterward Brody grew to Level 36. I kept him holding the Lucky Egg so he could get more experience to keep up with the others, and I continued along Azure Bay. I got into another battle after that, and the Swimmer's Slowpoke went down quickly with a single attack from Logan.

I kept going north, and found myself on a small island, where an old man gave me Ampharosite when he saw the Mega Ring I had on my wrist. I also got into a battle with a Trainer there, and afterwards I got a photo on the island with Phil, where I got a photo of myself riding a Lapras.

I continued along Azure Bay and got into another battle, and Axel grew to Level 37. I kept on exploring, and I found another island that I could explore after I went through a side path. While there I found a Deep Sea Tooth, a Deep Sea Scale, and TM81 (X-Scissor), and with nothing else to find there I left to explore more of Azure Bay.

I found a couple small islands in the shallows to the north of that island I had explored, and I snagged a Dive Ball before I headed east to find another island with a cave. I snagged a Splash Plate on the shore before I went into the cave. Inside the cave I found nothing, a large area but nothing else to see. I figured I had seen everything I could, and I headed south after that to reach Coumarine City once more.

I rode on the Monorail again to reach the main part of Coumarine City, and went to the Pokemon Center to heal my team. After that I explored the town, talking to the citizens. I found one person who could do Pokemon calls, and I received a Poke' Toy from them when I identified Pikachu's call. I also found a Sky Plate when I looked through the last of the city before I reached the Coumarine Gym.

When I got to the Gym, Serena came running up from behind, apologizing for being late. She asked that I show her Mega Evolution, wanting to know what the potential of a Pokemon really is. I was more than happy to show her, especially with Logan at the head of my team.

Serena sent out Meowstic, adn I sent Logan out against it. I had Logan Mega Evolve into Mega Venusaur, and Meowstic used Fake Out to make Logan flinch. Meowstic used Light Screen next to increase special defense, before Logan struck with Petal Dance for great damage. Meowstic used Psybeam for great damage after that, before Logan attacked with Petal Dance once more to knock it out.

Absol was sent out next, and I sent Cadence out against it. Cadence struck with Fairy Wind for good damage, then Absol countered with Slash for great damage. Absol struck with Quick Attack after that for good damage, and Cadence countered with another Fairy Wind for good damage. I saw that her attacks, while super effective, weren't good enough to take down Absol, and so I switched Cadence out for Brody.

Brody got hit by Quick Attack for good damage, and then Light Screen wore off, then Brody struck with Mud Shot for good damage before it countered with Slash for great damage. Brody attacked with Mud Shot once more, and knocked Absol out to grow to Level 37 and learned Dig in place of Mud Shot. Cadence and Logan also grew to Level 37, while Gabriel grew to Level 38.

Quilladin was sent out last, and I sent Gabriel out against it. Gabriel went high, and avoided Bite, then he attacked with Fly to knock Quilladin out instantly! Jack grew to Level 37, and the battle was won!

Serena reflected on how powerful I had become compared to her, even though we both started in Vaniville Town. She wondered what could be so different about us, but wished me luck with my Gym Battle before she left. I went to the Pokemon Center to heal my team, and gave Jack the Lucky Egg before I went to the Coumarine Gym to earn my next Badge.

My team consisted of:

Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 38)
Cadence (Floette, Fairy, Lv. 37)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 37)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 37)
Axel (Pikachu, Electirc, Lv. 37)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 37)

When I went inside the Gym, I found a MASSIVE tree growing at the center, with ropes leading up the tree to the top. I was informed that the Gym Leader specialized in Grass-Type Pokemon, and I knew Gabriel would be all over this. I had found out that there was a TM I missed earlier in my journey which could have been useful here, something I could have taught to Logan, but at least I knew where to find it after I could use Fly.

I climbed up the first rope, and saw two different paths I could go around the tree. I swung on a rope to the right, and got into a battle with a Pokemon Ranger. The battle was short, and I continued on up another rope. I swung across a couple more gaps, then climbed up another rope, before I found three different directions to go.

I could go left, right, or up, and I decided to try going left, but only found a path down. I went back, then right, and only found another Pokemon Ranger to battle. Through the battle Gabriel grew to Level 39, and learned Flame Charge in place of Ember. I went back and up that rope, only to find a dead end.

I went to the left, and down a rope, then further left before I got into another battle. Through the battle Brody grew to Level 38, and so did Axel, then I moved on. I climbed up the rope, then went left, and climbed up another rope. I found myself able to go left or right, though not feeling any sense of getting closer to the Gym Leader. I went right and got into another battle, and Jack, Logan, and Cadence all grew to Level 38. Cadence also learned Aromatherapy in place of Tackle.

I healed Gabriel, and climbed up the rope, then I went right and right again to finally reach the Gym Leader. He stood inside a library built at the top of the tree-like structure, and introduced himself as Ramos. He was an old man who somehow reached the top of this tall structure each and every day. He wondered if I had enjoyed his garden playground, and warned me of the strength of his team before the battle started.

Ramos sent out Jumpluff, and I sent out Gabriel against it. Gabriel used Flame Charge for massive damage, and an increase in speed, before Jumpluff used Acrobatics for good damage. Gabriel struck with Flame Charge again to knock it out, and to increase his speed further.

Gabriel grew to Level 40, and I kept him in the fight when Gogoat was sent out. Gabriel went high and avoided Take Down, before he attacked with Fly for massive damage which knocked Gogoat out. Jack grew to Level 39, and I kept Gabriel in the fight to battle against the last Pokemon, Weepinbell. Gabriel went high once more, and avoided Poison Powder, before he attacked with Fly to knock out Weepinbell and win the battle!

Ramos saw how I believed in my Pokemon, and how they believed in me, and he handed over the Plant Badge! With the Plant Badge I could use Fly outside of battle, and Pokemon up to Level 60 would obey me. Ramos also handed over TM86 (Grass Knot) which is a move that does more damage the heavier the opponent is.

I slid down the tree and left the Gym to heal my team at the Pokemon Center. After that, I decided to take a quick flight back to Camphrier Town so I could head to Route 6 once more. While I was there I took a trip to the Berry Fields to plant a Sitrus berry and get the other berries taken care of.

After that I went to Route 6 toward the Parfum Palace before I went south once more on the eastern path to find an Antidote and TM09 (Venoshock), and to get into several battles. I taught Venoshock to Logan in place of Poison Powder, which meant he finally had a powerful Poison-Type move to fight with.

I decided to call it a day after that, and knew I'd have to go back to old towns and cities to look for items I might have missed, as well as to get some new clothes now that I could reliably check stock each day.

Current Team:

Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 38)
Cadence (Floette, Fairy, Lv. 38)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 38)
Axel (Pikachu, Electric, Lv. 38)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 39)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 40)

Pokemon Y - From the Tower of Mastery to Coumarine City

I went to the Tower of Mastery to meet up with Korrina, and the guru told me that Korrina, the Mega Evolution successor, was waiting for me at the top of the tower. I went up the spiral path, and went to the first room, where I learned that the Mega Evolution guru's real name is Gurkinn.

I went into the second room after I went higher up the tower, though I didn't find much, and I continued going up the tower. I received TM47 (Low Sweep) before I continued on and reached the top of the Tower of Mastery. It was there that I found Korrina looking out over the world below from the balcony.

Korrina told me she loved that place, and said that when she's there with her Pokemon, looking at the sky above, all her worries disappear, and she feels like she can do anything. She came close and thanked me for coming there, and told me it was decided that this must be the place where the Mega Ring is handed over. She said it was about making sure we never forget to set our sights as high as the sky.

Korrina handed over the Mega Ring, a bracelet I wore on my wrist, and she told me how to use the power of Mega Evolution. One of her Lucario seemed to act up after that, and it came to stand by my side. It turned out that the Lucario wanted to battle alongside me, and Korrina was surprised that some traveling Trainer like myself had a stronger bond with it than she did.

Korrina asked if I would battle her Lucario with the one who had sided with me, and I had no issues with it at all. She revealed that both had their Mega Stones, Lucarionite, and were ready for Mega Evolution.

The battle started, and Korrina sent out her Lucario, while I sent out mine. I urged Lucario to Mega Evolve, and he transformed into a powerful new form, before the other Lucario also Mega Evolved. My Lucario struck with Power-Up Punch, and it was a critical hit that knocked out Korrina's Lucario instantly!

After the battle, Korrina told me that with such a strong bond like I had with Lucario, I shouldn't have any trouble triggering my Pokemon's Mega Evolution. Korrina thought it best that I bring Lucario along on my journey, and thought we made a great team. I had no problems with that, even though I had a Riolu from Sinnoh waiting.

I sent Cadence to the PC and received Lucario, and Korrina told me that as long as Pokemon and Trainers have the kindness to care for each other and give each other courage, the world would be full of smiles. I wasn't sure about all of that, but I was certainly happy to have the Mega Ring to make my Pokemon even more powerful.

I left the Tower of Mastery, and I gave Logan his Mega Stone to hold onto for later. I went to the Pokemon Center to make sure my team was ready for the road ahead, and also switch Lucario out for Cadence once more before I headed for the gate to Route 12.

I reached the gate to Route 12, and Serena came up from behind and gave me HM03 (Surf). Serena commented on how amazing it was that I had just moved to the Kalos region and started traveling with her and the others. I thought it was nice to have so many companions on my journey, especially if things got troublesome like in previous regions.

I taught Jack to use Surf in place of Water Pulse, and then I continued on to Route 12. I started on Route 12, Fourrage Road, and met up with a Trainer who asked me to take a Lapras who saved him to see the world. I had to go back to the city to get an empty slot, then I received Lapras (Water/Ice, Female, Lv. 30) and I went back to the city to switch her out before I would continue along Route 12.

I went looking through the tall grass at the start of Route 12, and I caught a Slowpoke (Water/Psychic, Male, Lv. 24) in the off chance I didn't have a second for both evolutions. Thanks to the battle, Gabriel grew to Level 36, and I continued looking through the tall grass to find a Chatot (Normal/Flying, Female, Lv. 23) and at the end of the battle Brody grew to Level 34.

I went back to the city to heal Brody, then I returned to Route 12 to continue along to the next town. I saw immediately that I would need Jack to use Surf to continue on, and I started along the water to find myself in a battle. I used the opportunity to have Logan Mega Evolve for the first time, and he transformed into an impressive and powerful new form to strike down the Trainer's Qwilfish, and then his Binacle as well.

I went across the stream to get into another battle, then afterward I found a small farm, where I received TM45 (Attract) from a little girl there, and I rode on one of the Skiddo they were raising to find a Whipped Dream, a Shiny Stone, a Sachet, and Leftovers before I made my way out of there to continue onward.

I got into a battle as I made my way through, and Axel, Cadence, Logan, AND Jack all grew to Level 35, then afterwards I decided to head back to the city to load up on supplies for the journey ahead. I spent quite a lot of money on supplies, but I was confident that I could face whatever challenges would lay ahead.

I got into another battle, and Brody grew to Level 35, then I continued along to reach another Trainer looking for a battle. Through the battle, Gabriel grew to Level 37, and Axel grew to Level 36. I healed my Pokemon, then I continued going through Route 12. I got into another battle with another Trainer, a Fisherman, and through the battle Jack, Cadence, AND Logan all grew to Level 36.

After the battle was over, Jack evolved into Greninja, and wanted to learn Water Shuriken, though I decided not to have him learn that move. I continued along the path, and reached Coumarine City.

It was there that I got a Holo Clip from Serena, who challenged me to a battle in front of the Gym. I found out that to reach the Pokemon Center and Coumarine Gym, I would need to ride on a monorail. I went into the station, and found Professor Sycamore there, along with that actress, Diantha, who I met in Lumiose City.

Professor Sycamore congratulated me on obtaining everything I needed for Mega Evolution, both the Mega Stone for my Pokemon and a Mega Ring for the Trainer. Diantha was a bit confused about the bond needed when Sycamore said it was required, and he explained that he believed a strong bond between Pokemon and Trainer is the key to this new evolution.

Professor Sycamore posed questions about Mega Evolution, wondering what kind of bond was needed, and why Mega Evolution was seemingly found only in the Kalos region. She asked him if it made him think of something like Kalos's Legendary Pokemon, only found in Kalos, and she thought that maybe it wasn't a coincidence. Sycamore thought that she posed an excellent point, and before he could get too caught up in thoughts of more research, he handed over HM02 (Fly) which I could use to get around the region.

Sycamore left after that, and Diantha commented on the importance of bonds to all people and Pokemon, and she told me that when she's acting she thinks she's always trying to forge a bond between herself the character she plays as. She revealed that if she only thinks about how different she is from a character then she just ends up hating it, but if she focuses on what she has in common with the character, then she might be able to understand her. She claimed it was the same for people or Pokemon, then apologized for babbling about her own things.

Diantha requested a battle next time we'd meet, and then she left. I taught Fly to Gabriel in place of Peck. I rode the monorail to the Pokemon Center, and I healed my team there before I called it a day. Before that though, I met up with Mr. Bonding, and received a new O-Power, Befriending Power Lv. 1, which makes Pokemon grow friendly more easily.

I would have to battle Serena later, and explore Coumarine City as well. But not this day.

Current Team:

Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 35)
Cadence (Floette, Fairy, Lv. 36)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 36)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 36)
Axel (Pikachu, Electric, Lv. 36)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 37)

Pokemon Y - Shalour City and the Shalour Gym

While at the Pokemon Center, I met with Mr. Bonding again, and he gave me the O-Power Critical Power Lv. 1. I talked to people in the Pokemon Center, and one of them told me of mysterious stones that are filled with life energy which I could find in the Kalos region. Another told me that a shining stone that emitted great warmth was discovered, possibly one of those life stones, and she said that a great tower was built to house and protect the stone.

I left the Pokemon Center, and went to explore Shalour City, a "city of awakening" as the sign by the Pokemon Center said. I went into one house, where a Scientist gave me an Eviolite for my efforts to complete the Pokedex. I did more exploring, and received a Soothe Bell from someone when they saw that Cadence liked me so much. I also loaned Gabriel to a woman to help her with luggage, and she gave me several bits of Stardust as thanks.

I started going north to see more of the city, but I was stopped by Tierno and Trevor. They greeted me, and we compared our Costal Kalos Pokedexes, and I won by seeing 50 different Pokemon. Tierno told me he found some great Pokemon dancers. Trevor remembered that the professor told us all to say hello the Mega Evolution guru when we reached Shalour City. Tierno wondered where we could find him, and Trevor said that he's in an imposing building called the Tower of Mastery.

I explored the city further, and found out that Korrina was training in the Tower of Mastery. I soon found it, and Tierno came up from behind. He wanted to show me something, and I thought it was a new dance, but it turned out to be a stone he got from a person calling themselves the Wandering Stone Collector as thanks for showing off his dance moves. He thought it might be a Mega Stone, and gave me the Intriguing Stone because I was such a good Trainer.

We both turned to look across the shore to the Tower of Mastery, truly a large and imposing structure. Tierno said he'd call Trevor and told me to go on ahead. I found a photo spot where I got a nice picture of myself in front of the (blurry) Tower of Mastery. After I tipped Phil the Photo Guy, I went back to the Pokemon Center to sell those bits of Stardust I had for a good profit.

I went inside the Tower of Mastery, and within the tower I saw a massive statue of Lucario with a door at the base, and spiraling stairs heading up the tower. It was an amazing sight, and I went through the door at the statue to find a small room.

I found Korrina and an old man there. He knew who I was, and said he was told by Sycamore that I would be coming. He told me he was called the Mega Evolution guru, though it of course wasn't his real name. I went over to him, and he was surprised that I was the only one there, having been told that Sycamore gave five kids a Pokedex, and he wondered if I had anyone else with me.

It was then that Tierno and Trevor came in, wondering who I was talking to. They introduced themselves to one another, and he was pleased to meet them but wondered where the other two were. The guru recognized the Intriguing Stone I held, but I told him it was given to me, though Tierno seemed to want me to say that I found it alone. The guru said that it didn't matter who found it, only that I was honest. He told me of the virtue of honesty, and said the Intriguing Stone is just an ordinary rock.

The guru heard some commotion outside, and went to leave the room. Korrina was glad to see I made it to Shalour City, and told me that Lucario, even while in it's Pokeball, was really happy to see me. She thought we should see what the commotion was, and it turned out that Serena and Shauna had both made it as well.

I lined up with the others, and Serena wondered where I'd been, while Trevor commented that it had been a while since our group gathered in one place. Tierno remembered the last time was on Route 7, and I hadn't realized it had been so long. I had seen them here and there quite often on my journey, so I didn't think much of us being together as a group.

Tierno asked the guru who the woman was, and he introduced her as his granddaughter, Korrina, and told my friends that she was Shalour City's Gym Leader. He said, as we were all there, he would explain Mega Evolution to us. He assumed we all knew of Pokemon Evolution, and then told us that Mega Evolution is something that transcends all other evolution.

The guru told us that Mega Evolution is a transformation of Pokemon that were thought unable to evolve any further. Trevor asked if it meant a Pokemon like Charizard would be able to evolve even further, and Korrina told him that was indeed the case. She said that not ALL Pokemon have a Mega Evolution though, and explained that there was a reason he used the word "transformation" moments before.

The guru told us that Mega Evolution differs from Evolution because it ends after a certain amount of time, a temporary evolution. After the time ends, the Pokemon goes back to their normal form, and back to their normal strength. Korrina told us that there was still so little known about Mega Evolution, and what was currently known was that it required special items, and even more importantly it required trust between Pokemon and Trainer.

The guru told us that to make Mega Evolution work, you need two items: a Mega Stone for the Pokemon, and the Mega Ring, which has a mysterious stone set in it, which is held by the Trainer. The guru told us that he would like to give these items to all of us, but that at that time he only had ONE Mega Ring to give.

He said it's a very precious item, and that's why his research wasn't getting anywhere. He told us he wanted us to decide among ourselves which one of us would be the one who challenges the Mega Evolution successor. Tierno, Shauna, and Trevor all turned down the offer, which left me and Serena as the two looking to earn the Mega Ring.

Tierno said that we were two of the best Trainers, and Serena thought we should battle for it. I had no objections to that, and our friends, the guru, and Korrina all watched as we battled. She was determined to win, to get the Mega Ring, and to prove herself the best Trainer, but I was determined to get that Mega Ring and become stronger and stronger. I'm Champion of Hoenn, Sinnoh, Johto, Kanto, AND Unova, and I wouldn't be denied this new power!

Serena sent out Meowstic, and I sent Cadence out against it. Meowstic used Light Screen to raise it's Special Defense, and Cadence attacked with Fairy Wind for minor damage. I switched to Jack, and Meowstic used Disarming Voice for minor damage. I had Jack attack with Thief for great damage, and then Mewostic countered with Psybeam for good damage and confusion.

Jack was confused, but he attacked with Thief once more for great damage, then Meowstic used Psybeam for good damage again. I decided to switch back to Cadence, and Mewostic used Disarming Voice for minor damage, and then Light Screen wore off. Meowstic used Disarming Voice once more for minor damage, then Cadence attacked with Fairy Wind to knock Meowstic out.

I kept Cadence in the fight when Absol was sent out, and it struck first with Quick Attack for good damage before Cadence countered with Fairy Wind for great damage. Cadence attacked with Fairy Wind once more, and Absol barely clung on to attack with Bite for good damage. Cadence used Fairy Wind once more, and knocked out Absol, and Jack grew to Level 33 and learned Smack Down in place of Lick. Gabriel also grew to Level 34 from the Exp Share.

I sent Gabriel out against Serena's last Pokemon, Quilladin, and Gabriel attacked with Peck for great damage before he got hit by Needle Arm for minor damage. Gabriel attacked with Ember for massive damage, and Quilladin barely clung on to counter with Needle Arm once more which did only minor damage. Gabriel finished Quilladin off with Peck, and at the end Logan and Cadence both grew to Level 33. With Quilladin down, I won the battle, and the Mega Ring!

After the battle Serena told me she could feel how powerful the bond between my Pokemon and I were, and said that losing was frustrating but she was certain that my Pokemon could Mega Evolve. Korrina said that there may be winners and losers in a Pokemon battle, but she thought that Serena and I and all our Pokemon were winners.

Korrina said that Mega Evolution is nothing more than just one way to make Pokemon stronger. She told us that Trainers can bring out the strength of their Pokemon WITHOUT Mega Evolution, and this was very true. The guru told me that I should challenge Korrina, and she left after telling us that we should all challenge her.

Everyone left, and I went to heal my team before I went to the Shalour Gym. I would soon earn that Mega Ring and become more powerful than ever!

 My team consisted of:

Cadence (Floette, Fairy, Lv. 32)
Axel (Pikachu, Electric, Lv. 32)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 32)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 32)
Jack (Frogadier, Water, Lv. 32)
Gabriel (Fletchinder, Fire/Flying, Lv. 33)

The Gym Guide told me that Shalour Gym was a Fighting-Type Gym, and he said that I just need to run into all the Roller Skaters and beat them. It turned out that this Gym was one large roller rink, and I would have to skate around on my Roller Skates if I wanted to battle with all the other Roller Skaters.

I soon got into a battle, and through the battle Axel grew to Level 33. After the battle two of these platforms raised up at the center platform. It looked like each Trainer defeated would get a bridge built up to battle against Korrina at the end of it. I healed my team and continued along the Gym, looking for more Trainers to battle against.

I got into another battle, and his Heracross was taken out in short order. Brody grew to Level 33, and I continued on after more of the bridge was formed. I got into another battle shortly after, and Gabriel took out the Roller Skater's Pancham easily and grew to Level 35, then Cadence took out his Throh, and finally Logan knocked out his Machoke to grow to Level 34, while Cadence and Jack both grew to Level 34 as well.

After the battle Gabriel evolved into his final form, Talonflame! Another part of the bridge was raised, leaving just one more Trainer for me to fight. I healed my team, and searched out the last Roller Skater. I soon found her, and after a short battle the final part of the bridge raised and I could finally battle Korrina.

I reached the central platform, and met up with Korrina. She knew I was a strong Trainer already, and didn't see a point in holding off any longer. I agreed, and the battle started immediately.

Korrina sent out Mienfoo, while I sent out Gabriel. Mienfoo used Fake Out for minor damage, and caused Gabriel to flinch. Gabriel used Peck next for massive damage, and Mienfoo countered with Power-Up Punch for minor damage, but the move also increased it's attack. Korrina used a Hyper Potion to heal her Pokemon, before Gabriel attacked with Peck for massive damage, leaving it where it was before the Potion.

Korrina used ANOTEHR Hyper Potion, and Gabriel attacked with Peck for massive damage, leaving Mienfoo in the red. Gabriel attacked with Peck again, and Mienfoo was knocked out. That was one down, and two more to go. I hoped that Korrina was out of Hyper Potions after using two on that one Pokemon!

I kept Gabriel in the fight when Machoke was sent out, Gabriel attacked with Peck for massive damage, and Machoke used Rock Tomb for massive damage in return. Gabriel attacked with Peck once more for great damage, and Machoke was knocked out.

Axel grew to Level 34, and I sent Axel out against Korrina's last Pokemon, Hawlucha. Hawlucha used Flying Press for massive damage, and it took some damage from Rocky Helmet before Axel used Nuzzle for minor damage and paralysis. Axel used Thunderbolt after that, and it did massive damage to knock out Hawlucha and win the battle!

Korrina was disappointed in her defeat, but she accepted it like a proper Gym Leader. She handed over the Rumble Badge, which meant Pokemon up to Level 50, including traded Pokemon, would obey me. She told me that I could also use Surf outside of battle, thanks to this new Badge. Korrina also handed over TM98 (Power-Up Punch) which does damage while also increasing attack power.

Korrina then apologized to me, and told me I would need to make it to the top of the Tower of Mastery if I want the Mega Ring. She apologized for sending me this way and that, promising me that she wasn't giving me the runaround, though I wasn't so sure of that. She went further, telling me that since I've done so great rolling with the punches that she'd like to ask me a favor.

Korrina wanted another battle, between equals, as two Trainers who can use Mega Evolution. She told me she would be waiting for me with Lucario at the top of the Tower of Mastery. Korrina left, and it seemed like I would have to fight hard if I wanted to gain the power of Mega Evolution.

I left the Shalour Gym to heal my team at the Pokemon Center, and I decided I would call it a day. Korrina would be waiting for me at the Tower of Mastery, and I didn't feel like having to fight my way through many more Trainers.

Pokemon Y - Through Reflection Cave to Shalour City

I started heading east, about to leave Geosenge Town when I heard someone calling for a Lucario. It turned out to be Korrina, who I met on Route 5 previously. She thought that Lucario wanted to battle with me again, and so we had another battle there.

I had a prolonged battle with her two Lucario, and both Brody and Axel seemed unable to do much against her first Lucario, though Axel managed to paralyze it before I finally switched to Gabriel, who was able to knock out the first Lucario with a couple Ember attacks after it was hurt by Brody and Axel.

The second Lucario was sent out, and Gabriel did minor damage with Peck, and it countered with Power-Up Punch for good damage. Gabriel attacked with Ember for massive damage, a critical hit that left Lucario in the red before it used Swords Dance to increase it's attack. Lucario struck with Feint for great damage, and then Gabriel used Ember once more to knock out Lucario and win the battle.

Gabriel grew to Level 29, Cadence and Axel grew to Level 28, and Korrina was left stunned that her powerful Pokemon were defeated by mine. Korrina told me she got it, that she saw why Lucario likes me so much. She asked me if I remembered that she is the Gym Leader in Shalour City, and told me that once I got past the cave just beyond there I would reach the city.

Korrina left, and I went to heal my team at the Pokemon Center before I continued east onto Route 11, also known as Miroir Way. I thought it was very interesting how all the routes seemingly had names where in previous regions they were just called Routes.

I quickly got into a battle with a Psychic, and through it Brody grew to Level 28, and Jack grew to Level 29, but Axel got knocked out. I had to go to right back to Geosenge Town to heal my team before I could continue along Route 11. I was starting to get frustrated at the struggle I had to go through in battle, as it seemed like every battle was a challenge even when I had Type advantage. I couldn't wait for my team to get more powerful, AND get stronger attacks.

On that note, I taught Jack to use Thief in place of Round, which did the same amount of damage but would give him STAB when he reached his final form. I got into another battle when I continued east, and after that I continued on. I saw glowing stones jutting out the ground, and I wondered if they were part of those curious stones I saw on Route 10.

I decided to search through the tall grass for new Pokemon, and fortunately I found myself a Dedenne (Electric/Fairy, Female, Lv. 21), an odd little electric mouse with a plug for a tail. I was able to catch it thanks to Brody and a single Great Ball. I searched some more, and I found a Throh (Fighting, Male, Lv. 22) and after some time and several Pokeballs, I finally caught it, though both Axel and Cadence were knocked out by it. At least Logan grew to Level 29...

I went BACK to Geosenge Town to heal my team, AGAIN, and then I continued along Route 11. As I made more progress, I got a Holo Clip from Professor Sycamore, who called to tell me about a person in Shalour who knows about Mega Evolution. It seems that people call this man the Mega Evolution guru, and he told me the others were all informed of this person, suggesting I give him a visit.

I got into a Double Battle, where Brody grew to Level 29, and Gabriel grew to Level 30, but through it Cadence, Jack, AND Axel were all knocked out. I grudgingly went BACK to Geosenge Town, healed my team AGAIN, came back to Route 11, then I snagged TM69 (Rock Polish) and a Hyper Potion before I got into an aerial battle. Gabriel grew to Level 31, though it seemed as though none of my other Pokemon gained experience.

I reached Reflection Cave, which was so named by the reflective crystals along the walls, and I quickly got into a battle with a Backpacker. Through the battle Cadence grew to Level 29, and then I looked around for new Pokemon. Unfortunately before I could find any new Pokemon I stumbled into a battle with a Battle Girl, and Logan, Jack, and Brody all grew to Level 30, but Axel got knocked out. I left the cave to heal up in town once more, then I came back and looked for more Pokemon.

I decided to use some O-Powers for Defense and Special Defense, hoping that Axel might not get knocked out before he could get more training. During training Axel grew to Level 29, and learned Thunderbolt! Finally he had a POWERFUL move that would really help in battle! I found a Revive as I looked for new Pokemon, but I could only find Roggenrola for a while.

I got into some wild Pokemon battles, and Gabriel grew to Level 32, though Axel got knocked out by a Wobbuffet. I had to use the Revive I found to heal him up, and I wondered how much longer he'd be following my orders if he kept getting knocked out like that... I found a Moon Stone before I finally found a new Pokemon, Solosis (Psychic, Female, Lv. 23) and it was caught in short order, thanks to Axel.

I gave Axel a Rocky Helmet to wear before I got into another battle with an Ace Trainer, and Axel was able to one-shot the first Pokemon, a Doduo, and the other two Pokemon went down fairly easily thanks to the combined efforts of Cadence and Axel, though Axel got knocked out again by Headbutt. Cadence grew to Level 30, and the battle was won, but I had to leave to heal my team once more.

I decided to stock up on supplies while I was at the Pokemon Center,  which included Revives, and I went back to the cave once more. I found that fighting wild Pokemon wasn't getting me much experience, so I knew that at least my team was properly trained, though they clearly need more powerful attacks. The only thing for it was more training, getting to higher levels and gaining new moves that way, as well as finding TMs in the wild.

I soon found another new Pokemon, Carbink (Rock/Fairy, Lv. 23) and I caught it with some effort and help from Axel and Logan. I healed Axel and Logan after that battle, and made my way through the cave. At that point I decided to use my Repel, after I got into a battle with a Wild Pokemon, and I found I couldn't go any farther forward, except to go deeper into the caves.

I went down some stairs and into a deeper level, and I found a woman who healed my team for me. I soon got into a battle with a Tourist, and Logan and Jack both grew to Level 31, but Axel had still not gained a level.

Soon enough I found Tierno waiting for me along the path, and he handed over TM70 (Flash), telling me that I could use it to prevent Wild Pokemon from attacking. He told me he relied on it because he's not good at battling and keeps getting into trouble. I went back and found a Black Belt before I continued on the path.

I snagged an Escape Rope, then I got into ab attle with a Black Belt. Axel grew to Level 30, and Brody grew to Level 31, though Axel got knocked out in the battle, and Cadence got knocked out too. I revived Axel during the battle, but Cadence was still knocked out by the end of it. I healed my team and got into a battle with a Psychic, and I came out of it victorious.

I soon got into another battle, who I assumed was the fiancee' of a woman I fought earlier who told me she ditched her fiancee' to explore. I got through the battle easily, and found myself loving Rocky Helmet as it did massive damage to the Nidorino I was up against. Gabriel grew to Level 33, and I healed Axel before I continued along.

I found a Hyper Potion and got into a Double Battle, and through the battle both Cadence and Axel grew to Level 31, and Logan grew to Level 32. After the battle, Logan evolved into his final form, Venusaur, and learned Petal Dance in place of Razor Leaf.

I soon got into another battle against another Ace Trainer, and through the battle Jack grew to Level 32. I grabbed a nearby Iron, and then I saw two different paths. I decided to go further into the caverns by going down some stairs. I found an Earth Plate, and TM74 (Gyro Ball) before I went back up the stairs, and made my way back around to reach the main cavern once more.

I got into a battle with a Hiker, and both Cadence and Brody grew to Level 32, and after I beat his third Pokemon Axel grew to Level 32 as well. I moved a large boulder to fill a large hole in the ground, to allow full access through the main cavern, and I talked to a Scientist about Reveal Glass before I left the cavern to finally reach Shalour City.

My Pokemon made a LOT of progress while in that cavern, and Axel finally learned a VERY powerful Electric-Type attack, while Logan evolved into his final form, Venusaur, and learned a very powerful Grass-Type attack. I could only hope that my team would continue to get more and more powerful!
