20 Years of Pokemon

It's hard to believe that Pokemon has been around for twenty years. I still remember when I got Pokemon Red for my Game Boy way back when, diving into a grand adventure with absolutely no idea what I was doing.

I enjoyed exploring a new world, trying to catch all the Pokemon and battling Team Rocket on my way to Indigo Plateau, but looking back I had no real idea about stats or STAB or any real idea as to using strategy beyond attacking with specific elemental types. I never took advantage of moves with status effects, or buff/debuff effects either, only focusing on direct attack.

Even though I was too young to really understand the nuances of the game, it was simple enough to enjoy anyway. I never felt frustrated by training my Pokemon or going into battle, so long as I knew the basics of type match-ups and built my team accordingly. That's the reason that Pokemon became so popular; anyone could get into it, though there was a lot of complexity to the whole system if you looked.

I'm glad I got back into Pokemon when I did, now that I'm smart enough to understand the stats and abilities of my Pokemon and train them accordingly. I know that attacking isn't always the wisest move, that sometimes you need to hit the opponent with status effect moves or the occasional debuff to weaken them. I know to teach moves to my Pokemon that work with their strengths, or fix their weaknesses, and likewise I have a general idea on the strengths and weaknesses my opponents just by looking at the Pokemon or their type.

Something that amazes me is how Pokemon has gotten more complex over the years without ruining the core experience for basic players. Things like the ability system, natures, the expansion of the stats to separate attack and defense from special attack and special defense, and held items all add to the experience. With Generation 6, we've seen Mega Evolution arise, which allows ONE Pokemon in your team to become even stronger for a battle, as well as the appearance of EXP Share and Super Training to make training easier than ever.

Probably the greatest thing about the series, since Generation 3, is the ability to bring your Pokemon from one game to the next, allowing Trainers like myself to maintain their progress and hold onto all their Pokemon. Because of this system, players don't lose any of their hard work, and they're even able to keep working on catching all the hundreds of different Pokemon in the game. It would be a tough pill for anyone to swallow if they needed to start fresh with every game, but thanks to the transfer system they at least have all their beloved Pokemon with every generation.

This was the reason I started all the way in Sapphire; I wanted to experience every generation, every story, and I wanted to make sure my progress continued throughout. Sometimes it was hard, pushing myself to get through one part of a game or another, especially when things got tough. SoulSilver comes to mind, because of just how long it was and how difficult I found the first half of the game. I also disliked the month-long grind I needed to get my team strong enough to finally defeat the Elite Four in Pokemon Black, but it was all worth it.

I'm happy that Nintendo has spent every month this year releasing a Mythical Pokemon to celebrate. I was worried that I would never get any of them because of my late start on the series. Come December I'll have every single Mythical Pokemon ever released, and between that and my previous run through Alpha Sapphire I'll have every Legendary and Mythical Pokemon ever released.

I thought I was going to spend a while trying to train all the Pokemon I caught through these years and generations, but with Pokemon Sun and Moon coming out, I've decided I'll hold off until then. I've enjoyed my time with Pokemon Y, but I'm just about finished with it. It's going to be nice, having so many low-level Pokemon to rely on when I go to the new game, allowing me to fill roles I might have difficulty with otherwise.

I can't wait to see what happens with Pokemon in the years to come, and now I'll be there every step of the way with hundreds of Pokemon ready to battle at my side. Who knows, maybe someday I'll get really into the IV and EV system, especially with Super Training being available, but for now I'm happy to just battle and see how my Pokemon grow.

Thanks for keeping up with my blog, and let's see where it goes from here!

Pokemon Y - Terminus Cave and Zygarde

I flew to Couriway Town, then I went north on Route 18 to reach Terminus Cave, which was rumored to hold a monster. I taught Brody to use Rock Smash in place of Odor Sleuth so that I could smash the rocks around the cave.

I went inside the cave, smashing several rocks to get various items, including a Max Revive before I went down the stairs. From there, I went south and smashed a rock so I could get across a narrow bridge to find a Star Piece. From there I went back, and continued along the main path and across a bridge before I got into a battle with a Worker named Narek.

Narek sent out Graveler, and I had Gabriel sent out first, though I switched over to Logan who got hit by Self-Destruct for great damage, which knocked out the Graveler. Another Graveler was sent out, and I kept Logan in the fight. I had Logan Mega Evolve and attack with Energy Ball to deal massive damage to Graveler, who clung on thanks to it's ability, "Sturdy," before it used Self-Destruct for great damage.

Finally a Golem was sent out, and I sent Jack out against it. Jack struck with Surf, but Golem clung on with Sturdy before it attacked with Bulldoze for good damage, then Jack finished the fight with Waterfall. Logan grew to Level 78, and the battle was over.

I moved on, heading south past a smash-able rock to receive an Ether and a Heat Rock, before I went back where I had the battle and moved east. I managed to sneak past a Hiker and another Worker along the path to find another rock. I smashed it to get a Pearl, and went to the end of the side path to get a Moon Stone.

I went across some jagged flooring, and had to double-back to my previous point, though I couldn't get past the Worker without a quick battle which saw Brody grow to Level 78. From there, I went south and found an Escape Rope before I continued on to get into another battle, this time with a Hiker.

I got through his team, a Boldore and a Steelix, and through the battle both Jack and Cadance grew to Level 78. After the battle, I got turned around again and needed to double-back once more before I went down some stairs at the Worker I met with earlier.

I wandered around for a bit, finding a Dusk Stone, and a Full Heal, before I got into another battle, this time with a Battle Girl. Gabriel took out her team of Fighting-Type Pokemon, and he grew to Level 78. I went north to find an Elixir, then backtracked a bit and found an X-Attack as I went along a narrow path, before I began to backtrack once more.

I was forced to battle another Battle Girl, and by the end of it Axel grew to Level 78. I continued along the path, sneaking past a Fighter to go and find TM30 (Shadow Ball), before I went back where the path broke off.

I went south and got into a Double Battle with a pair of Pokemon Rangers, then I continued along the path to find an Iron Plate, before I went east to go up some stairs. I smashed some rocks for items, and I went north to get into another short Battle with another Worker, then I went further along the path to find more stairs.

I went north and found myself in front of Zygarde (Dragon/Ground, Lv. 70), and I went to battle it. I sent Logan out against it, but then I remembered the Master Ball I acquired earlier in my journey, so I threw it to catch the Legendary Pokemon!

I explored the cave system, and found a Griseous Orb, an Adamant Orb, a Lustrous Orb, and a Big Nugget. When I was sure that everything had been found, I used an Escape Rope to get out of there and flew back to Lumiose City, glad to be near the end of my journey in the Kalos Region.

Pokemon Y - Looker Bureau Part 5

After taking time away from the world of Pokemon, I returned to Lumiose City to receive a call from Emma, asking me to come to the Looker Bureau. After getting lost for a while, I finally found the Looker Bureau once more.

Emma was there, looking for Looker. She was hardly around there anymore, being too busy to hang out, and asked where he was. I told her he was in the hospital, and she started panicking about his health. Before she could worry about going to visit, though, she told me she had to leave for some kind of appointment she had.

Not a second after she left, a man in a suit came in, looking specifically for me. He had a request, but before he would give it to me he wanted to verify my strength. I agreed to a battle, and sent Axel out against his Pokemon, a Braviary, and a single Thunderbolt took it down to win the battle. Axel grew to Level 76, and my strength was proven to the old man.

The man revealed himself to be a former admin of Team Flare, and a mere servant sent by order of his "mistress" to measure my skill and to send me to Hotel Richissime if I proved myself worthy. I left the bureau and headed straight for the hotel.

I went to the fifth floor, and found Malva of the Elite Four there waiting for me. She said she needed my help, but also complained about how long I took to get there. We had a battle, and Axel was able to beat her Pyroar with just a couple attacks.

After the battle, Malva told me that Essentia was actually Emma, wearing a piece of special technology called the "Expansion Suit," which was created by Dr. Xerosic. He was one of Team Flare's scientists, and Malva's request was to make sure Xerosic disappears, in any way I could. She told me that even in Team Flare they had a sense of pride, that they were doing what they thought was right. She told me she wouldn't let him sully their honor now.

She continued on, knowing that I wouldn't want Emma to keep committing these crimes as Essentia. Malva told me that if I wanted to help Emma, then I would need to put a stop to Xerosic. She said we could find him at Lysandre Cafe, and I left immediately to confront him.

I met Malva in the cafe, and went into the headquarters. Malva told me I could find Xerosic in the lab, a secret floor that only certain admins know about. She put a special password into the elevator for me to get there, and told me it was up to me to stop him, but before I went down she said to tell Looker that she fulfilled her end of the bargain, and that he should keep in mind what would happen to him if he doesn't do the same.

I exited the elevator, and immediately got drawn into a battle with a Scientist. I sent Jack out against her Elgyem, and she used an X Special Attack on her Pokemon before Jack struck with Night Slash to take it down. Klingklang was sent out next, and I sent Gabriel out to fight it. Gabriel struck with Flame Charge for massive damage, then Klingklang countered with Metal Sound to lower Gabriel's special defense. Another Flame Charge knocked it out, and Gabriel grew to Level 76 before the battle was over.

The lab was a maze, and I was forced to travel around it until I encountered another Scientist. Jack was able to take out his Weezing, and Brody took out his Heliolisk with a single Earthquake. After the battle, I continued along through the maze and encountered a gang member hired as a security guard. I beat her pretty easily, and I continued on.

A short distance away I met up with another gang member, and when the battle was over Cadence grew to Level 77. I continued along the maze, and fought another Scientist, and after a quick battle Brody grew to Level 77, then I continued along the path. I reached the end of the maze, and found Nix, one of Emma's gang friends I met at the train station previously, and we had a battle.

Nix didn't last long, his Pokemon so much weaker than my own, and by the end of it both Jack and Logan grew to Level 77. After the battle I followed him into the room he was guarding, and he decided to have a look around the room for goodies, seeing as how nobody was supposed to be there.

I found a bunch of pokeballs, and information on the Expansion Suit. There was data reporting on the various features of the suit, and journal entries detailing the missions Emma had been on while wearing the suit, as well as reporting on the usage of some type of control mechanism to make her do these terrible things.

When I finished up there, I told Nix there were only pokeballs and papers around, and he promised me he wouldn't take them after giving Looker his word. Suddenly a bell rang, and Nix told me that his shift was up before he ran off. I began to leave the room, only for a big guy to come in and talk to himself.

It so happened to be the scientist I was looking for, Xerosic, but he seemed so absorbed in his thoughts that he passed me by. He was pondering how to maintain control of Emma while in the suit, until he noticed me and recognized me from an earlier encounter. He was determined to beat me and get me out of the way to continue his research.

He called Essentia down, and I was forced to fight her. Essentia send out Jellicent, and I sent Logan out against it. I had him Mega Evolve into Mega Venusaur, and he struck with Energy Ball to take down Jelicent. Volcarona was sent out next, and I sent Jack out against it. Jack only needed a couple turns to take it down and end the battle.

After the battle, Xerosic seemed proud of himself and the Expansion Suit, and urged Essentia to battle on. I was forced to fight her again, but it went as well as the first, and after a short battle I came out victorious once more, and Gabriel grew to Level 77 at the end of it. Again Xerosic cheered her on, telling me that she was only getting started.

I had to endure a third battle, this time against a Persian, and Gabriel was able to take it down easily to win the battle. Xerosic wondered if I was getting tired, and told me that Essentia would never experience physical or mental fatigue, so long as she wore the Expansion Suit.

He encouraged her to battle on, but a Pokemon called from the doorway, and it turned out to be Mimi and Looker. Xerosic wondered who they were, and Looker told him that Mimi was a Psychic-Type Pokemon, and so it was only natural that it could find it's friend. Oddly enough, Xerosic declared Looker barging in as a crime, as if he were concerned about the law, but Looker declared that he and Mimi simply stepped into a wide-open elevator.

Xerosic ordered Essentia to attack, but Looker begged Emma to stop. Xerosic told Looker that it was useless, that Emma couldn't hear him, and that he was in control of Essentia, but Mimi came up and called to Emma, which seemed to do something.

Emma tried to fight it, and Xerosic couldn't believe what he was seeing, though he was able to take control by turning the system up to maximum. I was forced to fight Essentia again, but after a quick battle I came out victorious once more. Emma struggled, and Looker screamed for her to stop, and she stood there screaming in pain as she tried to fight the control system.

Xerosic turned off the remote control, claiming that there was never any danger to the girl. Emma acted like she was just coming out of a nap, and Xerosic told her that she did a good job. Looker was concerned for her, but she said all she had to do was wear the suit while she snoozed away.

It occurred to her that Looker was supposed to be in the hospital, but he claimed that he got special permission to check himself out of the hospital. He said he was worried about her, so he found out where she worked and came to find her. Emma told him she was afraid he might be mad because she started working without telling him, so she kept it a secret. She thought he was a great detective for finding her.

Looker told her to go get dinner while he talked with Dr. Xerosic, and I left with her and Mimi. Looker remained behind to bring the doctor to the bureau. He wanted to confirm that the mastermind behind these criminal acts was Xerosic himself, and Xerosic did admit his guilt. Xerosic told Looker that he had full control of Emma while she was unconscious in the suit, so she had no responsibility at all for the crimes.

Dr. Xerosic declared that he was the only one who should be apprehended for those crimes, and he felt glad to have seen his life's work come to fuition thanks to Emma. Looker declared that he, as a member of the International Police, would arrest Xerosic for his crimes, though he hoped that the scientist would dine with him and Emma and let her enjoy a  last, cheerful night before he had to tell her the truth.

After that, I got a call on the Holo Caster from Emma, who had incredible news. She asked me to go back to the Looker Bureau, and I headed back to meet her. She told me that Looker was getting out of the hospital, and wanted to welcome him home, but Mimi came by holding a letter from Looker. In the letter, he admitted that he was an officer of the International Police, and that his hospital stay was a ruse to keep us all out of harm's way.

The letter further went on to tell us that Looker came to this region for an investigation, and while his efforts closed the case it also meant that his time in the region was over. Looker wrote that I was a wonderful partner, and presented me with his code name "Looker" as thanks, and for Emma and Mimi he left the Looker Bureau, having purchased the whole building so they'd never have to worry about rent.

Emma was upset about him leaving without seeing us, and she ran off to look for him with Mimi not too far behind, and I was left at the bureau. I began to leave, only to be stopped by Nix, who came by to visit. He told me that Looker was heading to Lumiose Museum, and I ran off to see him.

I went to the museum, heading on up to the top floor, where I met with the curator who declared the repairs to the mural complete. It turned out that Looker came by to tell him that the suspect had been apprehended, and I left to search for him. I got a call on my Holo Caster from Emma, who got a message from Xerosic telling her that he was with Looker at Lysandre Cafe.

I rushed over to join them, and I found Xerosic and Looker talking at the cafe. Emma and Mimi came by shortly after me, and confronted Looker about his lies, and why he was leaving us behind. He said that his letter explained everything, that he was an officer who went around the world to fight crime. Emma told him to take her and Mimi with him, that she'd join him, that they could be police or anything if they could just stay together.

Looker told Emma that he wished it could be like that, but that it wasn't possible for her to come with. He told her it was time for her to graduate from being his assistance, and he declared her the new head of the Looker Bureau. He decided that since she was born and lived in the city, that she knew it inside and out, and that no one else could do the things she could.

He asked her to take his place, and protect the peace of Lumiose City. Emma was upset that Looker had to leave, but there was nothing he could do. He told her that she and Mimi and I would all be his dear friends, always and forever. Xerosic gave Emma his Expansion Suit, with remote-control functionality removed, so that she could protect Lumiose City. He also gave her the Pokemon he raised, to help her in her task.

Emma was saddened by Xerosic's actions, and bid him farewell, before she promised Looker that she would keep working hard, and become the new head of the Looker Bureau. Looker said goodbye, and left with Dr. Xerosic, leaving us to protect the Kalos Region.

Pokemon Y - Looker Bureau Part 4

I went back to the Looker Bureau, and met up with Looker, who told me that he's grown concerned about Emma. He told me that she's been running off somewhere on her own, quite often. He said that he was hoping she could watch the office for him today, and once again she's nowhere to be found. Furthermore, it looked like she didn't return the night before.

Looker told me that her former gang friends were legit, so he hoped it wasn't anything bad, but he wasn't sure. Before he could continue though, I got a message on my Holo Caster, some news from Lumiose City, telling me that an intruder broke into the Lumiose Musem and damaged a painting. Security staff at the museum claimed that breaking into the museum is impossible, and the report ended saying that the culprit remains at large.

Looker wanted to run off to the Lumiose Museum to get on this case, but said he had an appointment soon that he couldn't miss, and so was stuck at the office. He asked me to start the investigation without him, and I had a strong urge to tell him of the need to get PAID for any investigations we might handle, but I just went to check things out and let him deal with running the place.

I went to the museum, and was stopped at the entrance by a red-headed girl. She told me that a piece of graffiti was left on some artwork on the third floor, and that the museum director was up there too. I headed up to the third floor to see the damage and talk to the director, hoping to get some kind of information.

The piece was completely ruined by the blue spray paint, and the museum director was just standing there taking in the damage. The director asked me what feelings rose up within me when I looked at the graffiti, asking if I felt that the value of this glorious artwork had been affected. I told him that I felt it had been sullied, and he went on and on about how terrible it was that this historic piece had been damaged like that.

The director was torn, because trying to restore the original work may worsen the damage, and thought they may need to just leave it as it was. About the only silver lining the the whole thing was that the damage might bring more visitors curious about the graffiti.

I left the museum, and got a message on my Holo Caster about thefts of Poke' Balls, and that the thief strikes after Pokemon battles, when Trainers let their guard down. The thefts are all believed to be the work of a single individual, but reports differed greatly on the suspect's features, so authorities were struggling to identify the culprit.

With news that these crimes were occuring in back alleys and in other quiet places, I was about to walk around the city to explore the alleyways when I got a call from Looker, who asked me to return to the Looker Bureau.

I got there, and Looker told me he had devised a sting operation, hoping that by laying a trap in an alleyway we could lure the thief out. I would go and put myself out as bait, waiting for other Trainers to come to me while Looker would wait nearby for my signal.

I left the office and made my way to the nearest alleyway, and I found a woman who was itching for a battle. She sent out Jellicent while I sent Jack out against it. Jack managed to take it down with Night Slash, and after that he took out her Volcarona with a Waterfall attack. Brody grew to Level 76, and the battle was over.

Suddenly the woman disappeared, and in her place was a woman wearing a black and orange suit. Looker came running to help me, but before we could catch her the woman managed to escape, leaving us with several questions and no answers.

I made my way to the next alleyway, and this time I found a little girl. We battled, and her first Pokemon, a Whimsicott went down from Gabriel's attacks, then Gabriel took out her next Pokemon, Mawile, then finally Logan took down her third Pokemon, Granbull. Through the battle both Jack and Logan grew to Level 76.

The girl disappeared, and the woman in black appeared once more, wanting my Pokemon. Before she could try anything, Looker came running to help me. The woman ran off again, jumping right out of the alley, and Looker healed my Pokemon before I headed to the next nearest alleyway.

When I got there, I found a Trainer who was upset, and Looker came running to talk with him. We found out that the woman struck with powerful Pokemon, and after the battle was over she stole all his Pokemon. We managed to get a lead on her whereabouts, an alley on South Boulevard, and I headed there immediately.

I found a woman in the alley, and I challenged her to a battle. She sent out a Persian, and I sent Axel out against it. A Nuzzle and Thunder were able to take it down, and the battle was over.

The woman revealed herself to be the woman in black, and Looker came running once more. He stood in front of me to protect me from her, and told her the odds weren't in her favor between my Pokemon and his combat training.

Suddenly Mimi, Emma's Pokemon came by, and ran up to the woman in black. Looker told Mimi to get back because the woman was dangerous, but it just kept running around excitedly. The woman was confused by Mimi, while Looker and I were wondering why she reacted like that to this woman.

The woman tried to attack Mimi, but Looker protected her, and when she went to fight, Looker realized that it was Emma. The woman denied this, and said her name was Essentia, but Looker knew the truth. He asked her why she was doing these things, but she didn't respond, only crying out in agony when her suit began flashing and making odd noises.

She ran off, and I helped Looker back to the office. Looker talked about going to visit the hospital, and told me to go home and rest. I headed off to Vaniville Town to relax at home after that sting operation, leaving Looker to get some medical help.

Pokemon Y - Looker Bureau Part 3

I headed back to the Looker Bureau to find out what the newest job was, though before I got there I fought a couple Trainers along the way and got a Nugget for my efforts.

When I got there, Looker told me that he was worried about Emma, the new girl living there. He said that ever since she started living at the office, she seemed to be stressed, and so he's worried about her. He asked if I thought something could be wrong, and I told him yes, I felt something was bothering her.

Looker told me that when he invited Emma to live there, he was hoping to act as a guardian to her, to do everything for her as a parent would. He worried that his feelings of responsibility were burdening her, but I didn't think that could be the problem.

Before we could discuss it further, a Japanese woman ran in shouting, though I couldn't understand her language. Looker wondered what it was this tourist wanted, and she continued to shout, too quickly for Looker to understand her. She repeated her message, and Looker thought she had been given offense for not being offered tea...

Looker ran off to get some tea, and the lady continued to shout out to him. Emma came soon after, with her Pokemon, wondering who the old lady was. She kept shouting and while I couldn't understand her at all, it appeared that Emma could in fact speak Japanese, and the two had some kind of discussion before Emma realized I had no idea what they were saying.

Emma asked her Pokemon, Mimi, to use her power to allow me to hear the woman's thoughts. It turned out that the reason the woman was so upset was because her Pokemon were stolen. It turned out that her Pokemon were stolen at the train station; while she was walking along, a man sneaked up behind her and stole her bag with her Pokeballs.

Emma had an idea about who the guy was, and Looker returned, still thinking the lady was upset because of tea... Mimi went up to Looker and broke off the mental connection I had, and Emma told him why the woman was there. Looker wanted to go to Lumiose Station at once, but Emma told him that the guy who stole the old lady's Pokemon was probably part of the Lumiose Gang. She warned us that they're tough, and getting involved would mean a battle for sure.

Even with that warning, Looker ran on ahead, and Emma asked me to help Mr. Looker, who didn't even have any Pokemon. She said he told her a story that a long time ago, he had a Pokemon as a partner, but during one particular case things went bad, and the partner Pokemon didn't make it. She knew that he wouldn't stand a chance without a Pokemon by his side, and I was forced to run off after him.

I ran off to North Boulevard to find the Lumiose Station, and I quickly found Looker confronting some punks. It turned out they knew Emma, and hated Looker for taking her in because she doesn't come to hang out with them anymore. It turned out they stole those Pokemon just to get Looker into their turf, hoping to fight him. If he won then he'd get the Pokemon back, but if he lost then he'd have to stay away from Emma.

Unfortunately for Looker, he didn't have a single Pokemon, much to his embarrassment. Before I could even question him on the wisdom of fighting crime without even a SINGLE Pokemon, they decided that I could fight for him.

I took on the first punk, and her Mandibuzz went down easily against Gabriel and Logan, after the former was switched out by Whirlwind. Gabriel grew to Level 75, and the battle was over with two more punks to go.

I took on the second punk, and she sent out Pangoro against Jack. It could do little before Jack knocked it out, and then Bouffalant was sent out next. It also went down hard against Jack, and the battle was quickly over.

The third punk sent out a Druddigon against Jack, and after one blow Jack suffered massive damage, and I was forced to switch out with Cadence, who knocked it out with Moonblast. Krookodile was sent out next, and I sent Logan out against it, and after he Mega Evolved his Energy Ball struck hard  to knock it out in a single blow. Cadence grew to Level 76, and the battle was over.

All three were defeated, and immediately after that, Emma ran up to us telling them to stop. She demanded that the gang leader return those stolen Pokemon, and he revealed to us that SHE was the leader and that there wasn't a point to their group if she didn't come around anymore.

She told him to shut it, that she told them not to count her in the gang, that they went ahead and called her boss without asking what she wanted. She told him to back off before she really lost it, and he was scared enough to listen and return the Pokemon, as well as to apologize to the old lady they stole them from, and Looker as well.

Looker told them that if they promised to change, to no longer perform cruelty to people or Pokemon, that they were welcome to come by the Looker Bureau to visit Emma as her friends. With that, we returned to the Looker Bureau, where Emma apologized for what happened. He said he was shocked to find out she was the leader of their gang, but she revealed that they began calling her boss after she took them down one time during a big fight.

The gang leader came in and told us that while Emma may look like a cute kid, she's actually crazy strong. Looker was surprised to see them visiting already, and the guy told Looker that they were planning on getting honest work. With the promise of visiting Emma later, he left, and Emma reflected on how she doesn't do any work at all even when he asked her to be his assistant.

She wondered if it was really okay for her to be there when all she did was learn things from Looker, and he admired her questions, and all that she had been learning since she got there. He told her that learning is very important work at any age, especially for her now. He told her to put her heart into her studies, and that she didn't need to worry.

She brought up the problem of Looker almost never having clients, and she asked if her and Mimi were just getting in the way. She brought up that he turned down taking money from the tourist lady, and she asked him directly if it was okay, moneywise, for her and Mimi to stay there. Looker told her that she didn't need to worry, that he has savings set aside. He didn't sound all that sure though, and I could tell that things were very tight.

I left, and headed for a Pokemon Center to heal my team. Along the way I got another message from Looker, telling me there was a situation that he needed help with. It seemed my work was far from over.

Pokemon Y - Looker Bureau Part 2

After some time away from the world of Pokemon, I returned once again to aid Looker in bringing justice to the Kalos Region.

The new task I had from Looker was from a Lumiose City mothers' group, concerned about kids spending lots of time in back alleys recently. The job required that I go to these alleys, and get the kids to stop hanging around. It seemed like it would pay well, at least.

Looker advised me to check South Boulevard first, and gave me a list of all the locations that I could find alleys, before I left to search for these kids. I looked in one alleyway, only to find a Chef who wanted to battle. After that, I checked the alleyways of Estival Avenue, and while I found a Trainer who wanted to battle in one of them, I was unable to find any kids.

It seemed that Looker's hunch was completely wrong, so I went to North Boulevard to check the alleyways there. I reached Autumnal Avenue and looked through the alley there, then I continued along as the alleyways in North Boulevard generally link up together. I continued along, battling Trainers I found in the alleys before I finally found the kids in an alleyway near restaurant Le Nah on South Boulevard.

There were several kids there, and they demanded I beat them all before I was allowed to enter their secret base. Through all the battles, Logan, Axel, AND Jack all grew to Level 75. Finally I got through all those kids, and was about to meet one named "Mimi" before Looker came running.

We heard a Pokemon nearby, and went to investigate, finding a couple girls and some little gray Pokemon named Mimi. It turned out that the girl who named it wasn't a Trainer, and she had just befriended the Pokemon. Looker asked her what they were all doing in the alley, and she explained that they were just playing, and that all the kids were friends of hers.

Looker could see they were all good kids, and asked why they picked a dark alley like that to play in, and she told us that she always lived in alleys. It turned out that the girl was an orphan living on the streets, and Looker invited her to stay at his office, the Looker Bureau. He offered her the chance to live in his office in exchange for her work as an assistant, as well as Mimi.

Unfortunately, Mimi didn't like the idea, and ran off, leaving me to look for her. The girl explained that Mimi is usually scared of humans, especially grownups, and that she wouldn't leave the Pokemon behind. Looker ordered me to go find Mimi and befriend her, and I left to do just that.

I searched the alleys along North Boulevard, and soon found Mimi near Cafe' Triste, where I gave her a smile before she ran off. I found her again in another nearby alley, and did a dance for her, which she seemed to really like. Mimi and I met up with Looker and the girl once more, and we all headed to the Looker Bureau together.

Looker told her that she was free to live there as long as she wished, and that he was happy to have her as an assistant, before he asked for her name. She told us her name was Emma, and with that the case was closed.

Soon enough though, I got a call from Looker on my Holo Caster about a new job, and I knew I'd have more to do soon.

Pokemon Y - Looker Bureau Part 1

I flew back to Lumiose City, and when I got there I received a message on my Holo Caster. The message I received simply told me to come to the Looker Bureau, close to Rouge Plaza. With so little information, all I could do was to go to the place and find out what was going on.

I went inside, and met up with Looker, the officer from the International Police I worked with back in the Unova Region to find and arrest the Seven Sages. I found that he had been investigating me, and he obviously  knew I was the newest Champion of the Kalos Region, and also that I was the one to stop Team Flare.

Looker told me that he opened up the Looker Bureau to stop trouble from happening in Lumiose City, and asked that I be his assistant to help him stop trouble from happening. I agreed to help him, but he pointed out that I'm just a novice when it comes to detective work, and so I would need to enroll in his class in detective and espionage skills, called "The Looker Method: Yes, even YOU can become a detective in five easy steps!"

He told me I would need to find five Looker Tickets that have been sprinkled about Lumiose City, and bring them back to him. He said I would spot the tickets with their glitter and sparkles, and told me that he left hints to their locations in his notebook. I read through it, and the locations were: Pokemon center next to Magenta Plaza, Centrico Plaza in Prism Tower, Vernal Avenue at shop selling medicine, North Boulevard, 1F, where people rest, and finally also on North Boulevard, 1F, in a place filled with art.

I left the building and instantly got a call on my Holo Caster, and it was Looker who gave me a rundown once again of the ticket locations. The first one I grabbed was at Prism Tower, easy enough to find and snag, then I left to find the Pokemon Center. I went south first, then when that was unsuccessful I went north, but I didn't see anything there either. I soon found out there was a THIRD Pokemon center near the center of the city, and snagged it there.

After a while I was able to find Vernal Avenue, and I went into the herbal shop where I found another ticket. After that I went north to reach North Boulevard, and went into the Lumiose Museum, where I found the fourth ticket. All that remained was the last ticket, and I found that at Hotel Richissime.

With the last ticket in hand, I headed out back to the Looker Bureau, and handed over the tickets. Looker declared me a fully fledged, completely boiled detective. With that done, he asked once more if I would become his crime-fighting partner, and I said yes once more. He told me he'd send me a message on the Holo Caster whenever he had a mission for me.

Before I could get too far, I received another Holo Caster message, and asked me to return to the Looker Bureau. I knew whatever I was in for, it was going to be interesting, but it would have to wait until later.

Current Team:

Pokemon Y - Upgrading the Mega Ring

I went to Anistar City to meet up with Professor Sycamore at the sundial. He told me that he found a way to power up the Mega Ring, but before that he wanted to talk about Mega Stones.

Professor Sycamore had a theory that the Mega Stones are special stones irradiated by the light, energy from Yveltal, fired from the ultimate weapon 3000 years ago. He thought it was possible that they were originally evolutionary stones like Fire Stones.

He didn't know what the Mega Ring was, besides a thing that transforms feelings felt toward Pokemon into some kind of wavelength. He said that the Mega Ring works in a similar way to the sundial, which changes sunlight into a mysterious light.

He said that for an hour starting at 8 PM, the sundial starts emitting light, though the relationship with the Mega Ring isn't understood. He told me to try touching the sundial, and when I did there was a flash of light.

Sycamore told me that I was exposed to the Legendary Pokemon's energy in Team Flare's secret HQ, and that the Mega Ring has absorbed the power of the sundial. He said those two powers combined to upgrade my Mega Ring. He told me it would react to underground Mega Stones, but only when the sundial is emitting light.

He left after that, and I was left alone, too late in the night to try looking for Mega Stones. I knew I'd have to look later though.

Current Team:

Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 74)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 74)
Axel (Raichu, Electric, Lv. 74)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 74)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 75)
Cadence (Florges, Fairy, Lv. 75)

Pokemon Y - Kiloude City

I left the Train Station at Kiloude City, and was immediately stopped by a man in a white suit. He recognized me from the parade, and gave me the VS. Recorder as thanks for defeating Team Flare. With the VS. Recorder, I could record Battle Videos of battles with friends or in special facilities. He told me I could also upload my Battle Videos to the internet, and that I could use codes to find videos uploaded by others.

I went to the Pokemon Center and picked up Celebi (Psychic/Grass, Lv. 100) from the 20th Anniversary Mystery Gift for March. I was so glad to have the opportunity to get all the Mythical Pokemon that were released in prior events through the years, including Mew (Psychic, Lv. 100) that was released in February. All the other Pokemon in the game could be found by trading, but who would want to give up the event-only Pokemon?

I decided to explore the town, and the first thing of note I found was the Friend Safari, which would allow me to go on the Safari of someone registered in my friend list. I decided to try my luck there with a Ghost-Type safari, where I found Pumpkaboo and Lamperts. I tried a Bug-Type safari next, where I found a Paras and an Illumise (Female, Bug, Lv. 30), the latter of which I caught.

I went through my friend list, going through the safari again and again, finding all the Pokemon that I could catch thanks to my friends. I didn't catch anymore Pokemon from there, all of them either Pokemon I already had or evolutions of them.

I left the safari and went to explore the city further, visiting homes of people who lived there. I received TM58 (Sky Drop) before I got into a battle with someone looking to get advice on dealing with Levitating/Flying-Type Pokemon. Through the battle both Axel and Logan grew to Level 74, and afterward I continued through the city to receive TM91 (Flash Cannon).

Eventually I found the main draw of the city, the Battle Maison, where I could get into special battles with a variety of different Trainers to earn Battle Points. With Battle Points I could buy unique and special items for battle and for evolution. I decided to try my luck with Single Battles, and I got through 10 battles for 10 BP before I decided to call it quits.

I left the Battle Maison and explored the town further, and met up with Serena, and she wanted to battle. I sent Jack out against her Meowstic, and it used Fake Out to make Jack flinch, but the next turn saw Jack take it down with Night Slash.

Jack grew to Level 74, and I kept him in the battle against Clefable. Jack struck with Waterfall for massive damage, but then it countered with Moonblast for massive damage, and Jack barely clung on. I sent Logan out, and Serena switched out to Vaporeon. I had Venusaur Mega Evolve, and then he struck with Energy Ball for massive damage, before Vaporeon countered with Aurora Beam for good damage. Another Energy Ball took it down though.

I kept Logan in the fight against Clefable, and his Sludge Bomb knocked it out. Altaria was sent out next, and I sent Cadence out against it. Cadence used Moonblast for massive damage, but Altaria clung on to use Confide to lower Cadence's special attack. That didn't matter though, because she struck with Dazzling Gleam next to knock it out, and after that Gabriel grew to Level 74.

I sent Gabriel out against Serena's next Pokemon, Chesnaught, and Gabriel struck with Brave Bird to deal massive damage and knock it out in a single blow. Cadence and Brody both grew to Level 75, and then Serena's last Pokemon, Absol, was sent out while I switched back to Cadence.

Serena's Absol Mega Evolved, but Cadence attacked with Moon Blast to knock it out in a single blow, and so the battle was won!

After the battle, Serena gave me Absolite, and then told me that she had a message from Professor Sycamore. It appeared that he had unraveled part of the secret of the Mega Ring and the Mega Stones, and that I was to meet him by the sundial in Anistar City.

I decided I would visit him later, after everything I had done in Kiloude City. I'm just glad to see how easy it is to earn BP so I can get those TMs and special items later on.

Current Team:

Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 74)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 74)
Axel (Raichu, Electric, Lv. 74)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 74)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 75)

Pokemon Y - Business in Lumiose City

I started once again in my bedroom in Vaniville Town, and went downstairs to meet up with Mom, who saw the parade on TV. She told me that Sycamore sent her a message for me, wanting me to meet him at Lumiose Station in Lumiose City. She thought it was a bit odd, seeing as he could have talked to me at the parade, but I'm sure he had his reasons.

I left my house to meet up with Shauna, who wanted to trade a Pokemon with me. She said she had a Fennekin she received from an egg, and she would take any Pokemon I would give her in exchange, but I turned her down because I didn't wish to give her one of my main party.

I had sent all my Pokemon from the Pokemon Bank to my PC here in Pokemon Y, so I had a few extras I could trade for Fennekin. I went to Santalune City and switched out one of my Pokemon, Cadence, for an extra Hoothoot I had, and I traded it over for Kinniekins (Fennekin, Fire, Male, Lv. 5). I went back to Santalune City to get Cadence back, and then I went over to Lumiose City.

I first visited the Sycamore Pokemon Lab, where I received some Luxury Balls, and also a Poke' Radar, which would let me find Pokemon more easily in tall grass. There was nothing else to do there, so I left to find the Lumiose Station.

I took a cab to Lumiose Station, seeing as I had never been there before, and I must say it was an expensive trip. I headed inside and spotted Professor Sycamore nearby, but before I could do anything I was stopped by Sycamore's assistants, who came by to upgrade my Pokedex to the National Pokedex.

After that I stepped forward and talked to Sycamore, who told me the reason he asked me to come by was to give me a pass to Kiloude City, which I had never heard of before. He told me that Kiloude City is a city in the southern part of the Kalos Region, and supposedly the perfect place for Trainers looking to sharpen their skills.

Sycamore gave me a TMV Pass for the super high-speed rail system down to Kiloude City, and bid me a good day before he left.

With little else to do, I scanned the TMV Pass at the orange pass reader and boarded the train, and soon I was on my way to a new city.

Current Team:

Axel (Raichu, Electric, Lv. 73)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 73)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 73)

Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 74)

Pokemon Y - The Elite Four

I spent some time after I reached the Kalos Pokemon League to get the last few Plates that I had been missing previously, caught Bergmite (Ice, Female, Lv. 39) and Pumpkaboo (Ghost/Grass, Female, Lv. 36), and also did some training which pushed my whole team past Level 70.

I felt ready at that point to start fighting my way through the Elite Four to earn the title of Champion of the Kalos Region.

My team consisted of:

Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 71)
Axel (Raichu, Electric, Lv. 71)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 71)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 72)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 72)
Cadence (Florges, Fairy, Lv. 72)

I made sure to take a quick photo in front of the Kalos Pokemon League before I headed inside. When I went inside, there was a space with a couple Trainers, and a couple hallways leading back into the building. I went down one hallway and found myself in a central chamber, where I was greeted by Malva, one of the Elite Four.

She told me the usual spiel about beating the Elite Four to fight the Champion, though she thought it should be a walk in the park for the hero who destroyed Team Flare. After that Malva left through one of the doors, leaving me alone in the room.

The room had four several doors and doorways. There were the two doors that led from the hallways getting here, and between them it looked like another large door leading to what I assumed was the Champion. On the left and right sides of the rectangular room were two doors each, all leading to a member of the Elite Four.

I took the northwest doorway into the Ironworks Chamber, and I stepped forward onto a large circular platform that glowed and raised up into a large chamber. A pair of large swords came down at my sides, and the barriers around me slid down to reveal my path to the first of the Elite Four.

I stepped forward and met Wikstrom, a man who wore plate armor and specialized in Steel-Type Pokemon.

Wilkstrom sent out Klefki, and I sent Gabriel out against it. Klefki started off by using Torment, and then Gabriel countered with Flame Charge for massive damage and a speed boost. Because of Torment, he couldn't use Flame Charge again, so I had him go up high to avoid Dazzling Gleam, then he struck with Fly for good damage, and then Klefki struck with Dazzling Gleam for minor damage.

Wilkstrom used a Full Restore to heal Klefki, and then Gabriel struck again with Flame Charge for massive damage. I had Gabriel go high again to avoid Flash Cannon, then he struck with Fly for good damage before he got hit by Flash Cannon for minor damage. Wilkstrom used another Full Restore, and Gabriel struck with another Flame Charge.

At this rate I knew that Wilkstrom would soon run out of Full Restores to heal the rest of his team, so I kept Gabriel going, and he went high to avoid Flash Cannon before he struck with Fly for great damage, then he got hit by Flash Cannon for good damage. Finally Gabriel struck with Flame Charge once more and knocked out Klefki.

Wilkstrom sent out Probopass next, and I sent Brody out against it. Brody struck with Earthquake, and it did massive damage, but Sturdy allowed Probopass to endure with 1 HP, and he struck back with Flash Cannon for good damage. Brody used Earthquake again, and Probopass was knocked out.

Axel and Jack grew to Level 72, and then I sent out Gabriel once more when Wilkstrom sent out Aegislash. Aegislash used King's Shield to protect itself, and when Gabriel tried to attack he merely got his own attack power lowered. Gabriel attacked with Flame Charge for good damage, and then Aegislash changed to Blade Form to use Shadow Claw, a critical hit that knocked out Gabriel.

Before Gabriel went down though, his Flame Body ability caused Aegislash to be burned. I sent out Brody against Aegislash next, and he attacked with Earthquake to do massive damage that knocked out Aegislash.

Scizor was sent out next, and I sent Axel out against it. I decided to use a Revive to heal Gabriel first, and Axel got hit by X-Scissor for massive damage. Axel attacked with Nuzzle for minor damage and caused paralysis, which stopped Scizor from attacking. Axel used Thunderbolt next for massive damage, and Scizor barely clung on to strike with X-Scissor. The attack knocked out Axel, but Axel's Rocky Helmet returned enough damage to ALSO knock out Scizor and win the battle! Gabriel also grew to Level 72 thanks to the victory.

With Wilkstrom defeated, I went onto the central platform and was teleported to the main room once more.

- - - - -

I healed my team, and then I continued on to the northeast doorway, the Blazing Chamber. I went up the elevator, and found myself in a room with stained-glass floors and a couple huge pillars of fire at either side. I stepped forward to meet the next member of the Elite Four.

I met Malva, the Fire-Type Specialist, on her throne, and we didn't bother with words before the battle began.

Malva sent out Pyroar against me, and I sent out Brody to fight it. Pyroar used Noble Roar to lower Brody's attack and special attack, then Brody attacked with Earthquake to deal massive damage. Malva used a Full Restore after that, and Brody went underground to avoid Flamethrower, then he struck with Dig for massive damage. Pyroar next used Hyper Voice for good damage before Brody attacked with Earthquake to deal massive damage and knocked it out.

Malva sent out Talonflame next, and I decided to send Axel out against it. Axel used Nuzzle to deal good damage and paralyze it, before Talonflame countered with Flame Blitz for massive damage, though Talonflame was hurt by Rocky Helmet AND recoil. Axel used Thunderbolt next, and Talonflame was knocked out.

Torkoal was sent out next, and I sent Jack out to fight against it. Jack struck with Waterfall, and it did massive damage to leave Torkoal in the red, and then it countered with Earthquake for good damage. Malva used a Full Restore to heal Torkoal before Jack used Waterfall again to deal massive damage. Jack struck once more with Waterfall, and Torkoal was knocked out.

Brody grew to Level 73, and I kept Jack in the fight when Chandelure was sent out last. Jack struck with Night Slash, and it did massive damage that knocked Chandelure out instantly, winning the battle!

After the battle I went back to the central platform again, and was teleported back to the main room.

- - - - -

I healed my team once more, then I went through the southwest doorway into the Dragonmark Chamber. I went up the elevator, and found myself in a shadowy chamber. The fog lifted, and a massive pair of stony wings and a dragon's head moved aside to reveal the third member of the Elite Four.

I stepped forward to meet Drasna, the Dragon-Type Specialist of the Elite Four. She seemed to think her Pokemon would get good training fighting me, but I knew my team was too strong for her.

Drasna sent out Dragalge, while I sent out Brody against it. Brody went underground and avoided Surf, then he attacked with Dig for massive damage that left Dragalge barely clinging on to use Surf for great damage. Drasna used a Full Restore next, but Brody struck with Earthquake for massive damage which knocked it out.

I sent Cadence out next when Drasna sent out Druddigon. Cadence attacked with Moonblast for massive damage, and knocked it out in one blow!

Cadence grew to Level 73, and I kept her in the fight when Altaria was sent out next. Cadence used Moonblast again for massive damage, and Altaria was knocked out instantly just as Druddigon was before.

Noivern was the last of Drasna's team, and I kept Cadence out to face it. Cadence used Moonblast again, and the massive damage knocked out Noivern instantly, winning the battle!

With all that out of the way, I went back to the central platform and was teleported to the main room once more.

- - - - -

I healed my team, and then I went to the southeast doorway, the Flood Chamber. I stepped onto the elevator and went up into a chamber with a couple sharp-looking gears spinning at my sides, rising up to fire water into the sky. There was water up to my ankles as water flowed down the walls, and I splashed my way to the last of the Elite Four.

I met with Siebold, the Water-Type Specialist who asked me if Pokemon Battles could be considered  art. I told him that I supposed they could be, given the skills of the Trainers leading the battle. He mentioned how cooking is a type of art that disappears as soon as it's completed, and that Pokemon Battles are the same.

The battle began, and Siebold sent out Clawitzer while I sent Logan out against it. Logan attacked with Energy Ball, which did massive damage and knocked it out instantly.

Logan grew to Level 73, and I decided to send out Axel when Siebold sent out Starmie. Axel used Nuzzle to deal great damage and cause paralysis, which stopped it from attacking. Axel next used Thunderbolt for massive damage which knocked Starmie out.

Axel and Jack both grew to Level 73, and I kept Axel in the fight when Gyarados was sent out. Axel used Thunder, but Gyarados avoided the attack, and used Dragon Dance to increase it's attack and speed. Axel used Thunderbolt next for massive damage, and Gyarados was knocked out instantly.

Finally Siebold was down to his last Pokemon, Barbaracle, and I sent out Logan to fight it. I had Logan Mega Evolve before he struck with Energy Ball for massive damage that knocked Barbaracle out in one blow to win the battle!

I stepped onto the central platform, and was teleported once more to the main room. When I got there, the large doors to the north opened up, inviting me to face the Champion.

- - - - -

My team made it through the last of the Elite Four without any damage, so I didn't need to worry about healing my Pokemon before I stepped through the doors into the Radiant Chamber.

I stepped onto the elevator in the bright and shining room, and found myself in a glowing chamber on a colorful platform. I stepped forward to face Diantha, the Champion of the Kalos Region. She recognized me from Lumiose City and Coumarine City, and she felt foolish for not recognizing me sooner.

Diantha thanked me for everything I did to save the world, and she looked forward to finding out what I and my Pokemon were capable of since she knew what we did.

Diantha sent out Hawlucha, and I sent Axel out against it. Axel started off with Nuzzle for massive damage, but it didn't cause paralysis, and then Hawlucha used Swords Dance to increase it's attack power. Axel struck with Thunderbolt next, and it dealt massive damage to knock Hawlucha out.

Diantha sent out Tyrantrum next, and I sent Cadence out against it. Cadence used Moonblast for massive damage, which knocked out Tyrantrum before it could do anything, and Gabriel grew to Level 73.

Diantha sent out Aurorus next, and I sent Brody out against it. Brody attacked with Earthquake which did massive damage, but Aurorus clung on to use Reflect. Diantha used a Full Restore to heal Aurorus, and Brody went underground before he struck with Dig for great damage, then Aurorus countered with Blizzard for massive damage. Brody struck with Earthquake once more, but Aurorus clung on and missed with Blizzard.

Diantha used another Full Restore to heal Aurorus, and Brody attacked with Earthquake once more for great damage. Brody used his last Earthquake, and it did massive damage to knock out Aurorus.

Brody grew to Level 74, and Diantha sent out Goodra while I sent Cadence out against it. Cadence attacked with Moonblast for massive damage, but Goodra clung on to attack with Fire Blast for good damage. Cadence used Moonblast again, and did great damage to knock Goodra out.

Cadence grew to Level 74, and then Diantha sent out Gourgeist while I decided to send Gabriel out against it. Gabriel used Flame Charge for massive damage, and a speed boost, before Gourgeist used Phantom Force to disappear. I had Gabriel go high to avoid the attack, then he struck with Fly for massive damage that knocked Gourgeist out!

Gardevoir was Diantha's last Pokemon, and I decided to send Logan out against it. It's ability, Trace, copied Logan's Overgrow ability, which wouldn't help it at all. I had Logan Mega Evolve into Mega Venusaur, just as Diantha had her Gardevoir Mega Evolve into Mega Gardevoir, then Logan struck with Sludge Bomb for massive damage, before it countered with Psychic for massive damage.

Diantha used a Full Restore to heal Gardevoir, then Logan attacked with Sludge Bomb again for massive damage, and Gardevoir barely clung on. Diantha used another Full Restore, and Logan attacked once more with Sludge Bomb, leaving Gardevoir in the red and poisoned, barely clinging on after the poison did damage. Logan used Sludge Bomb once more, and Gardevoir fainted to end the battle!

After the battle, Diantha told me she was choked up, not sure what to say, but she told me that she was glad she was good enough to be the Champion. She was glad it gave her the opportunity to meet  and battle with me and my Pokemon. She said she understood what Professor Sycamore meant when he said he needed to get Lumiose City ready for the new Champion.

She led me along to the central platform, and it raised up even higher to reach the Hall of Fame. I stepped forward to put my Pokeballs on the equipment to record their success through the Kalos Region, and to mark myself as the new Champion of the Kalos Pokemon League!

- - - - -

It was a few days later that my friends and I went to Lumiose City, where hundreds of people stood cheering for me as the new Champion of the Kalos League and as thanks for saving them all from the plans of Team Flare. I was presented with a medal, the Honor of Kalos, for saving the world. It felt really good to be cheered on for saving the world after all the times before with no thanks at all!

During the celebration, the tall man, AZ, wanted to battle me, to find out what a "trainer" really is. He sent out Torkoal, and I sent Axel out against it. Axel attacked with Thunderbolt for massive damage, and Torkoal countered with Stone Edge for great damage. Axel used Nuzzle next, and it did enough damage to knock Torkoal out.

Sigilyph was sent out next, and I decided to keep Axel in the fight. Axel attacked with Thunder, and it did massive damage to knock Sigilyph out instantly!

Golurk was the last Pokemon that AZ had to send out, and I sent Jack out against it. Jack struck with Waterfall, and it did massive damage to knock Golurk out in a single blow!

With the battle over, AZ just smiled at me, and thanked me for battling with him. He said he finally felt free from the part of himself mired in sorrow, sorrow that made him build the ultimate weapon. It was then that he saw a tiny Pokemon floating down, his long-lost Floette, which had been waiting all this time for him to return to the man he once was.

- - - - -

It felt good to reach the end of Pokemon Y, the game that I had originally started this journey for. I heard nothing but good things about Pokemon X/Y from my friends, and while it had been years since my last adventure in the world of Pokemon, I knew that I had overall enjoyed the time I spent playing the earlier games.

I'm glad I decided to start from the early days of Pokemon to make my way to this point. I know that I'm a better Trainer now than I ever was even during my heyday, and my Pokemon are all better for it. I can't wait to see what the future of Pokemon holds!

Current Team:

Axel (Raichu, Electric, Lv. 73)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 73)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 73)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 73)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 74)

Pokemon Y - Victory Road

I went west from Snowbelle City onto Route 21, where I immediately got into a battle with an Ace Trainer. After I beat her, I went and surfed north and found an Insect Plate, then I went back onto the main path to continue ahead. I quickly got into a Double Battle with another couple Ace Trainers, and by the end of the battle Brody grew to Level 64.

I found a boulder nearby, and pushed it north until it dropped into a hole, and I continued north to get into a battle with a Veteran. Through the battle Jack grew to Level 65, and after that I went inside a nearby home belonging to a Move Tutor, who would teach a powerful Dragon-Type move. I left there and found a Repeat Ball and Figy Berry nearby before I continued on my way.

I found a dirt path that went south, and I slid down it to get into another battle with an Ace Trainer, but it went quickly and I found myself looking at a strength puzzle afterward. I made my way around and quickly found myself in another battle with a Veteran, though it ended quickly and Logan and Gabriel both grew to Level 65.

I snagged a nearby elixir, and then I worked my way through the strength puzzle, pushing boulders here and there until I cleared out a long path through the area. For my efforts I snagged TM22 (Solar Beam) and a Rare Candy, then I made my way back to the path and reached Victory Road.

Before going through Victory Road, I decided to continue west to explore Route 22, and find more items and Trainers. I quickly got into a battle with a Lass, but her only Pokemon was extremely weak and went down easily. The same thing happened with the other couple Trainers I battled, so I got almost no experience, but after the third battle I managed to snag a Litleo (Fire/Normal, Female, Lv. 5) before I continued along the path.

I got into another battle with another Trainer, and his Pokemon went down quickly before I got into another short battle with another Trainer, and then another, all beaten easily. I snagged a nearby Elixir, then I went to the end of the path to reach Santalune City. While there, I healed my team and got into lighter clothing, before I headed back to further explore Route 22.

I surfed along the stream nearby and soon found a new area to explore. I quickly got into a battle with an Ace Trainer, and through it Axel, Brody, AND Cadence all grew to Level 65. I passed by her to grab a Tanga Berry, then I worked my way through another strength puzzle. When I reached the end of the puzzle, I got TM26 (Earthquake) for my effort.

After the puzzle, I went north to find myself in another battle with an Ace Trainer, but I won with a single attack. I went into the cavern he was standing by, and found a Spooky Plate there. I found nothing else, so I left, but before I went back to the entrance to Victory Road I surfed through the stream and found a Draco Plate.

Finally I went to the gate to Victory Road, where I was stopped by an Ace Trainer who guarded the entrance. He demanded to see my gym badges, and when he saw I had earned all eight he decided to test me in a battle. Jack took down his first Pokemon, Carbink, then I sent Brody out to defeat his Raichu, before finally Axel took down Kingdra, his last Pokemon.

With the Ace Trainer defeated, I was allowed to pass through onto Victory Road. I decided to quickly head back to town to get more supplies for the journey ahead, as well as to heal my team. With preparations made, I went through the gate and onto Victory Road.

I used a Max Repel and went into the cave, ready to fight anyone who stood in my way. I quickly got into a battle with an Ace Trainer, and after that I surfed across a small pond to the west, and went up some stairs further along the path. I got into another battle with an Ace Trainer, and through the battle Jack grew to Level 66.

After the battle I had to heal my team, and then I went west and up some stairs before I found myself in another battle, and through it Logan and Brody both grew to Level 66. I went ahead and left the cavern, and walked onto a bridge outside where I got into another battle. Through the battle Cadence, Brody, and Axel all grew to Level 66, and then I continued past the bridge and along the path before I went into another cave.

I got into another battle at the entrance, a short battle, and afterwards I looked on at the path ahead. There were a few ledges going to many raised rock pillars along different paths, but they all linked so you weren't forced to choose one or the other and get stuck. I made my way along, and got into another battle, and after that I used strength to move a boulder into a hole.

With the path opened up, I could go one of two ways; north at the crossed path, or further along the path and up some stairs. I decided to go north first to find myself in another battle, and after I beat the Black Belt I went further north and found a Carbos, but nothing else.

I healed Gabriel after that and I continued along the path, up the stairs, and into a Double Battle, and by the end of it Gabriel grew to Level 67. I continued along the path, over a bridge, up some stairs, and then outside the cave once more.

I went along the path, battling another Trainer among some ruins, and by the end of it both Jack and Logan grew to Level 67. After I beat her, I looked around, saw more Trainers along the path going north, and a boulder south of the main path. I used strength to move it, and found another cave. I went inside, then down several stairs, and then I have to move another boulder to make a shortcut to the entrance of Victory Road.

I went back to the path outside among the ruins, and I got into another battle, this time with a Hex Maniac. By the end of the battle both Axel and Brody grew to Level 67, then I healed Brody and moved along to find a Pokemon Ranger who healed my team. I snagged a Quick Ball and then proceeded south along the path.

Before I could get too far I was stopped by Serena. She told me she had been thinking about the situation in Geosenge Town, and how Lysandre chose only Team Flare. She remarked that she and I chose everyone BUT Team Flare, but since our positions forced our hands, you couldn't really say that any of us were right.

She told me that she felt that if both sides have something to say that it would be best to meet halfway. Because of that, she made a decision, that she didn't want to battle just to win, but to see how my Pokemon and I think and feel.

With that, I got into another battle with Serena. She sent out Meowstic while I sent out Cadence against it. Meowstic started with Fake Out, causing Cadence to flinch, but doing little else. Cadence attacked with Moon Blast next, doing massive damage, before Meowstic countered with Psychic for good damage. Cadence attacked with Dazzling Gleam, and did good damage to knock it out.

Cadence grew to Level 67, and then I sent Axel out against Serena's Vaporeon. Axel struck with Thunderbolt for massive damage, and Axel avoided it's counterattack, Muddy Water. Axel attacked once more with Thunderbolt for great damage, and knocked Vaporeon out.

Next up was Altaria, and I decided to keep Axel in the fight. He attacked first with Nuzzle which did minor damage but paralyzed Altaria, stopping it from attacking. Axel used Thunder next, and it struck for massive damage, before Altaria countered with Dragon Pulse for great damage. Axel attacked with Thunderbolt again, and Altaria was knocked out.

Serena sent out her next Pokemon, Chesnaught, while I sent Gabriel out against it. Gabriel went high and avoided Body Slam, then he struck with Fly for massive damage that took out Chesnaught in one blow.

Absol was the last of Serena's Pokemon, and I sent Cadence out against it. Cadence struck with Moonblast for massive damage, which knocked out Absol and won the battle.

After the battle, Serena told me that she felt like she and I are alike, and that's why she didn't want to lose to me. She thought that the reason we're so alike is because we have so many things in common, and she told me she was happy that we're friends.

She gave me some Max Revives, and told me she was renewing her rivalry with me, and she ordered me to become a stronger and stronger Pokemon Trainer. Serena said she'd also get stronger, and told me that she believed the first step is mastering the power that comes from the bond between her and her Pokemon, just like I had done. She told me to do my best, and believed I could handle it.

Serena left after that, and I went back to the Pokemon Ranger to heal my team before I continued on. I went into another cave, and quickly got into a battle with a Pokemon Ranger. The battle ended quickly, and I made my way through several ramps in a small maze before I continued along the path.

I went north and got into a battle with a Veteran, then I snagged a nearby Dragon Fang and then a Full Restore as I made my way back. I got into another battle with a Pokemon Ranger, and by the end of it Axel, Cadence, AND Gabriel all grew to Level 68.

I continued along the path and got into another battle, this time with a Veteran, and through the battle Jack and Logan both grew to Level 68. I pushed a boulder at the south to make a new path, then I continued further along the path and out of the cave.

I got into another battle, this time with an Artist, and Brody was able to take down his Smeargle easily, and he grew to Level 68. I continued along the path and got into yet another battle, and found a pier in a pond, with a cave and waterfall nearby. I surfed on the pond and went up the waterfall, and I got into another battle, and afterwards found TM02 (Dragon Claw) before I went back down the waterfall and into the cave.

Just as I was on the final stretch, I had a few more battles to fight. By the end of all that fighting the entire team, Gabriel, Axel, Cadence, Jack, Logan, and Brody ALL grew to Level 69. With them out of the way, I continued along the path, up some stairs, and out the caverns to finally reach the Pokemon League.

Pokemon Y - The Snowbelle Gym

I went to the Snowbelle Gym, ready to get my eighth Gym Badge in the Kalos region and earn the right to challenge the Elite Four.

My team consisted of:

Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 62)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 62)
Axel (Raichu, Electric, Lv. 62)
Cadence (Florges, Fairy, Lv. 63)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 63)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 63)

I talked to the man near the entrance, who only told me the obvious, that the Snowbelle Gym was dedicated to Ice-Type Pokemon.

The Gym was a cylinder designed with four colored rows of square panels and some kind of bridge going to the Gym Leader. There were also colored platforms where Trainers stood, and switches on those platforms. I went onto a pink platform, and battled the Trainer there, and through the battle Axel grew to Level 63.

I stepped onto the pink panel, and found that the pink row spun around in the cylindrical Gym, revealing itself to be a square of different designs on each side, and the side that spun around connected the pink floor to the bridge going to the blue floor.

I went forward, and got into another battle with a Trainer when I stepped onto the blue platform. Through the battle, Gabriel and Brody both grew to Level 63, and then I stepped on the panel to move the blue floor. I had to step on the panel a few times before I realized that I needed to move the pink flooring around to get both blue and pink floor set to allow me to move forward.

Finally I was able to press forward, and I stepped onto the green platform to get into another battle. After the battle, I rotated the green floor a few times, before I was forced to go to the yellow platform to get into another battle. Through the battle Jack grew to Level 64, and then I stepped onto the yellow panel to switch the yellow floor around, then I went to switch the green floor around before I finally reached the Gym Leader.

The Gym Leader, Wulfric, told me about how Ice could be so strong and also so fragile, and how he could either be a very powerful opponent to me or be a pushover, depending on the Pokemon I choose to fight him. He told me that was how it should be, and I found it an interesting viewpoint coming from a Gym Leader.

Wulfric sent out Abomasnow, and I sent out Gabriel against it. Abomasnow's ability, Snow Warning, caused hail to fall before the battle started. Gabriel attacked with Flame Charge and knocked out Abomasnow in a single blow, and he grew to Level 64 and learned Brave Bird in place of Acrobatics.

I kept Gabriel in the fight as Wulfric sent out Cryogonal, and even with Abomasnow knocked out the hailstorm kept on. Gabriel struck with Flame Charge again, and it knocked out Cryogonal instantly, and Logan grew to Level 64.

Finally Wulfric sent out Avalugg, an odd-looking Ice-Type Pokemon I had never seen before. It appeared to be some kind of ice turtle, and I learned later on that it was an evolution of an Ice-Type Pokemon I spotted but missed catching in the Frost Cavern. I had Gabriel attack with Flame Charge, and it did great damage before Avalugg used Curse to lower it's speed and raise it's attack and defense, before the hail actually healed it thanks to it's ability, Ice Body.

Gabriel struck with Flame Charge again for great damage, before Avalugg used Curse again to buff it's attack and defense before hail fell to hurt Gabriel and heal Avalugg. This was turning out to be a long battle, one step forward and two steps back between the relatively little damage that Gabriel was doing before Avalugg was healed by the hail.

Gabriel attacked with Flame Charge once more for good damage, and Avalugg used Curse again to keep building attack and defense, but the hail finally stopped and gave me a breather from damage and Avalugg's healing. Gabriel used Flame Charge again for massive damage, a critical hit, before it used Avalanche to knock out Gabriel.

I sent Jack out against it, and Wulfric used a Hyper Potion to heal Avalugg before Jack struck with Surf for massive damage. Jack used Surf once more, and it did great damage, knocking out Avalugg. Axel and Cadence both grew to Level 64, adn the battle was won!

Wulfric congratulated my Pokemon and I on a fine battle, and he handed over the Iceberg Badge, which would make all Pokemon obey my orders. He also gave me TM13 (Ice Beam), a powerful and accurate Ice-Type move. Before I left, Wulfric told me that being rigid can make you tough but fragile, so I'd be better off being flexible. He told me he was too stubborn to be flexible, but thought that perhaps that was he loves Ice-Type Pokemon.

I left the Snowbelle Gym with the eighth and final Gym Badge, and as I left the Gym Guide came out to meet me, congratulating me on a job well done. After that he moved aside, and Wulfric came out to meet me as well, and he advised me to trust in my Pokemon as I went through Victory Road.

I went to the Pokemon Center and healed my Pokemon, ready for the journey ahead.

Current Team:

Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 63)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 64)
Axel (Raichu, Electric, Lv. 64)
Cadence (Florges, Fairy, Lv. 64)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 64)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 64)

Pokemon Y - Snowbelle City and the Pokemon Village

In the corner of the Pokemon Center, I found Mr. Bonding again, who gave me the O-Power PP Restoring Power Lv. 1, which I could use to restore the PP of my lead Pokemon when I use it. That would be a very useful ability no matter where I go, though later on when I would train new Pokemon it could be something to keep me going.

I decided to explore the city, and I took the opportunity to get a nice photo taken for the album. I also went to the nearby boutique to buy myself some new pants and a hat, to keep me warm from the bitter cold of that snow-covered city.

As I explored the city, I received TM08 (Bulk Up) which I could use to raise a Pokemon's attack and defense stats. I talked to the people there, who were all quite friendly, but there was little of note to be found in the city. I decided to go to the Snowbelle Gym to challenge the Gym Leader for my eighth and final Gym Badge in the Kalos region, but I found out that the Gym Leader was somewhere in the nearby Wandering Woods.

With little else to do there, I left Snowbelle City and headed to Route 20, the Winding Woods. The first thing I found there was a mossy rock which I assumed could be used to evolve an Eevee into a Leafeon. I went west and found a Kasib Berry and a Paralyze Heal, but nothing else, so I went back and headed south.

I went as far south as I could, where I found a dead-end, though I was able to get a Meadow Plate before I was forced to turn back. I went west from where I left and found myself in a Double Battle with a pair of Twins. After a short battle I continued along, going south. I got into another battle with a Poke Fan, and after a short battle I went back north.

I went north past the Twins and got into another battle, this time with a Fairy Girl. Through the battle Jack grew to Level 63, and afterwards I went west, where I found a Protein before I got into another battle, this time with a Poke Fan. Through the battle Logan grew to Level 63, and with nothing else to see I went back east, then began my way south.

I continued south past a tree, and then I went east to snag a Mental Herb before I went back and found myself in a new area in the forest. I went south from the new area, and found an X Accuracy, as well as a hidden Balm Mushroom, before I made my way further south.

I had to cut down a tree, then I went west to battle a Hex Girl where Cadence grew to Level 63. After the battle I snagged TM53 (Energy Ball) which was laying on the ground nearby. After that I went back east, and I continued southwest where I found an exit from the forest.

When I left the forest, I found the Gym Leader surrounded by Pokemon in a field of flowers. When I stepped forward the Pokemon were all scared off. He turned to me and told me that the place I found was called the Pokemon Village, and he explained to me that most of the Pokemon there were runaways, escaped from bad people who did awful things to them.

He told me that some of the Pokemon there were too strong and found they didn't really have a place in the outside world, so they went there. When he looked at my Pokemon, he told me that they thought highly of me, and that we've had some good times together. He turned around and called to the Pokemon, telling them I was alright.

They all came running back up to him, and he told me that he sometimes gets worried and goes there to check on everyone. Finally he realized that we hadn't had a proper introduction, and he introduced himself as Wulfric. I told him I wanted to challenge him, and he apologized for the inconvenience, telling me that he'd be waiting for me back at the Snowbelle Gym.

Before he left, Wulfric told me that he thought it would do me some good to spend some time with the Pokemon there. I checked on some of the Pokemon, and from one I received a Chople Berry, and another one gave me a Pretty Wing. I encountered a few powerful Pokemon in the flowers, but I decided to leave them be.

I explored the area for a while, where I found a Full Restore, and a Pixie Plate. I decided while I was there to teach Jack to use Waterfall in place of Hydro Pump, which would probably be necessary to reach Victory Road later on.

With nothing else to do, I left there and flew back to Snowbelle City. Soon enough I would challenge Wulfric for my eighth and final Gym Badge.

Current Team:

Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 62)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 62)
Axel (Raichu, Electric, Lv. 62)
Cadence (Florges, Fairy, Lv. 63)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 63)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 63)

Pokemon Y - On the road to Snowbelle City

I went south from Couriway Town and started going through Route 19. I quickly got into a battle with a Hex Girl, and after I won I healed my team and continued on. I left the main road and got into another battle, this time with a Fairy Girl. Through the battle Brody and Gabriel both grew to Level 60, and after that I found a Max Revive before I continued along.

As I continued along I got into a Double Battle with a pair of Pokemon Rangers, and after my victory I got into another battle with a Swimmer. I continued along and got into yet another battle with a Pokemon Ranger, and by the end of it Cadence grew to Level 61. I kept going through the swamp and sneaked past a Pokemon Ranger, only to get into a battle with another one, where Logan, Axel AND Jack all grew to Level 61.

I found a Yache Berry, then I snagged TM36 (Sludge Bomb) before I went back into the swamp to battle the Pokemon Ranger I got by before. Through the battle, Brody and Gabriel both grew to Level 61, and after that I snagged a Toxic Plate before I got back onto the main road. I healed my team and continued along, and when I was crossing a wooden bridge I heard someone calling for me.

I turned around and saw Shauna running up to me. She asked if I knew what was going to happen, and I had to say no, no clue. She declared that we would battle, and so we did, in a rather dangerous place.

Shauna sent out Delcatty, and I sent Jack out against it. Jack attacked with Hydro Pump for massive damage that knocked Delcatty out in a single blow. Goodra was sent out next, and I sent Cadence out against it. Cadence used Moonblast for massive damage, but it clung on and used Sludge Wave for good damage. Cadence attacked with Dazzling Gleam and knocked out Goodra, leaving Shauna with one more Pokemon.

I sent Jack out against Shauna's last Pokemon, Delphox, and Jack used Hydro Pump for massive damage to knock it out in a single blow. The battle was over, and I emerged victorious.

Shauna told me that the battle reminded her of our battle in Aquacorde Town, where we battled when we first got our Pokemon. We heard people calling for us, and it turned out to be Tierno and Trevor, meeting us there on the middle of the bridge.

Before I could do anything Tierno forced me into a battle. I sent Jack out against his Talonflame, and Jack used Surf for massive damage that knocked it out instantly. Tierno sent out Roserade next, and I sent Gabriel against it. Gabriel struck with Flame Charge and did massive damage, but it clung on to use Petal Dance for minor damage. Gabriel attacked again with Acrobatics, and Cadence grew to Level 62.

Tierno was down to one more Pokemon, Crawdaunt, and I sent Logan out against it. Logan attacked with Energy Ball for massive damage which knocked it out, which won me the battle.

When the battle was over, Shauna mentioned how surprised she was that Tierno had actually requested a battle, but he explained that he knew if it weren't for me that he wouldn't still be dancing. He realized he didn't know much about me, and wanted to know about me through a battle.

Trevor was nice enough to heal all our Pokemon, and then decided that he wanted to battle me as well. I was starting to wonder what kind of friends these were if they were going to gang up on me on a bridge to battle...

Trevor sent out Raichu, while I sent out Jack. I switched immediately to Brody, who was immune to Raichu's nuzzle. Raichu struck with Slam for minor damage, then Brody attacked with Earthquake to knock it out.

Jack and Logan both grew to Level 62, and then I sent Gabriel out against Trevor's next Pokemon, Florges. Gabriel attacked with Flame Charge for good damage, then it countered with Confide to lower Gabriel's special attack. Gabriel went up high and avoided Moonblast, and then he struck with Fly for massive damage that knocked Florges out.

Axel and Brody both grew to Level 62, and then I sent out Jack against Trevor's last Pokemon, Aerodactyl. Jack attacked with Hydro Pump for massive damage, and knocked it out to win the battle. Gabriel grew to Level 62, and I hoped I wouldn't have to worry about yet another battle.

Trevor lamented his defeat, wondering if he just didn't have what it takes. Shauna teased Trevor, telling him she's never heard him worry about being weak or strong before. She said he seemed a lot bolder than he used to be, wondering if it was because of the journey we were on, or if it was by learning from his Pokemon and the rest of us.

Shauna suddenly wondered where Serena was, and Tierno told her that she was off training with the Mega Evolution guru. She apparently said that friends are friends even if they can't be together, and Trevor agreed. Trevor and Tierno left, and Shauna remained behind, telling me she was glad she went on a journey.

Shauna said she made some great friends, and thanks to her little Fennekin she was able to visit many places, meet a lot of nice people, and make many wonderful memories. She gave me HM05 (Waterfall) and told me that even without the final Badge that I could use Waterfall. She left, and I was all alone to continue my way down the path and to Snowbelle City.

Current Team:

Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 62)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 62)
Axel (Raichu, Electric, Lv. 62)
Cadence (Florges, Fairy, Lv. 62)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 62)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 62)

Pokemon Y - Couriway Town

After taking a much-needed break after defeating Team Flare, I continued my journey, starting back in Anistar City. As I made my way to the next route, I got a Holo Clip from Professor Sycamore, who wanted to talk to me face-to-face in Couriway Town.

I went through Route 18 and got into a wild Pokemon battle, where Gabriel grew to Level 59. While I went around the path I found a Wacan Berry and a PP Up, and I got into a few battles with Trainers. I also found a house that held a Trainer who had the odd ability to change type match-ups, where Water would be weak against Fire or Grass would be weak against Water, but I chose not to try such a battle.

I continued along the road and found a Max Ether, and got into a few more wild Pokemon battles before I soon found myself in Couriway Town.

I went to the Pokemon Center and healed my team, then I searched for Professor Sycamore. I explored the town as I searched, and in one of the houses I met a little girl, who wanted a nuzzle from Axel and gave me a Revive as thanks. I also received TM89 (U-Turn) from a woman at the train station there, and nearby I found a Rare Candy as well.

Eventually I met up with Professor Sycamore, who apologized to me about Lysandre and the trouble he caused. He also wanted to thank me, telling me he was grateful for what I did for all of the Pokemon and people of the world. Sycamore talked to me for a time about his relationship with Lysandre, and of the idea of greed in a world of resource scarcity that Lysandre was worried about.

It was after his little speech that Sycamore told me he wanted to battle with me. I had no issues with that, and the battle began. I sent Logan out, and Sycamore sent out his own Venusaur in return. I quickly switched out to Gabriel, who got hit by Petal Dance for minor damage, though his Flame Body ability burned Sycamore's Venusaur. Gabriel struck with Flame Charge after that, dealing massive damage, and then Venusaur used Petal Dance once more for good damage before it became confused.

I had Gabriel attack once more with Flame Charge to knock Venusaur out, and Blastoise was sent out next while I sent Axel out to deal with it. Axel got hit by Aqua Tail for great damage, and was unable to land a shot with Thunder. The next turn saw Thunder strike Blastoise down, and both Cadence and Logan grew to Level 60.

I sent Jack out against Sycamore's last Pokemon, Charizard, and Jack attacked with Surf for massive damage that knocked out Charizard and won the battle. Jack grew to Level 60, and learned Hydro Pump in place of Smack Down. Axel also grew to Level 60 before the battle was finally done.

With the battle over, Sycamore complimented the strength of my team, and the love and trust I have for my Pokemon. Sycamore went on to tell me that he had a treasure hidden in the town, and suggested that I try to find it. After that Sycamore told me he had to go, that he had a surprise planned for all of us to thank us for fighting Team Flare and saving Kalos.

I explored more of Couriway Town, and received a Mystic Water for answering some questions. I got a picture taken by the waterfall there near the hotel, before I went inside to explore. While at the hotel I received TM55 (Scald) and a Relax Ribbon which I gave to Brody. I also found Mr. Bonding, who gave me the O-Power Stealth Power Lv. 1, which I could use to reduce random encounters in tall grass.

With all that done, I healed my team and got ready to continue on my journey through Kalos.

Current Team:

Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 59)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 59)
Cadence (Florges, Fairy, Lv. 60)
Axel (Raichu, Electric, Lv. 60)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 60)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 60)
