Pokemon Y - Business in Lumiose City

I started once again in my bedroom in Vaniville Town, and went downstairs to meet up with Mom, who saw the parade on TV. She told me that Sycamore sent her a message for me, wanting me to meet him at Lumiose Station in Lumiose City. She thought it was a bit odd, seeing as he could have talked to me at the parade, but I'm sure he had his reasons.

I left my house to meet up with Shauna, who wanted to trade a Pokemon with me. She said she had a Fennekin she received from an egg, and she would take any Pokemon I would give her in exchange, but I turned her down because I didn't wish to give her one of my main party.

I had sent all my Pokemon from the Pokemon Bank to my PC here in Pokemon Y, so I had a few extras I could trade for Fennekin. I went to Santalune City and switched out one of my Pokemon, Cadence, for an extra Hoothoot I had, and I traded it over for Kinniekins (Fennekin, Fire, Male, Lv. 5). I went back to Santalune City to get Cadence back, and then I went over to Lumiose City.

I first visited the Sycamore Pokemon Lab, where I received some Luxury Balls, and also a Poke' Radar, which would let me find Pokemon more easily in tall grass. There was nothing else to do there, so I left to find the Lumiose Station.

I took a cab to Lumiose Station, seeing as I had never been there before, and I must say it was an expensive trip. I headed inside and spotted Professor Sycamore nearby, but before I could do anything I was stopped by Sycamore's assistants, who came by to upgrade my Pokedex to the National Pokedex.

After that I stepped forward and talked to Sycamore, who told me the reason he asked me to come by was to give me a pass to Kiloude City, which I had never heard of before. He told me that Kiloude City is a city in the southern part of the Kalos Region, and supposedly the perfect place for Trainers looking to sharpen their skills.

Sycamore gave me a TMV Pass for the super high-speed rail system down to Kiloude City, and bid me a good day before he left.

With little else to do, I scanned the TMV Pass at the orange pass reader and boarded the train, and soon I was on my way to a new city.

Pokemon Y - The Elite Four

I spent some time after I reached the Kalos Pokemon League to get the last few Plates that I had been missing previously, caught Bergmite (Ice, Female, Lv. 39) and Pumpkaboo (Ghost/Grass, Female, Lv. 36), and also did some training which pushed my whole team past Level 70.

I felt ready at that point to start fighting my way through the Elite Four to earn the title of Champion of the Kalos Region.

My team consisted of:

Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 71)
Axel (Raichu, Electric, Lv. 71)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 71)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 72)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 72)
Cadence (Florges, Fairy, Lv. 72)

I made sure to take a quick photo in front of the Kalos Pokemon League before I headed inside. When I went inside, there was a space with a couple Trainers, and a couple hallways leading back into the building. I went down one hallway and found myself in a central chamber, where I was greeted by Malva, one of the Elite Four.

She told me the usual spiel about beating the Elite Four to fight the Champion, though she thought it should be a walk in the park for the hero who destroyed Team Flare. After that Malva left through one of the doors, leaving me alone in the room.

The room had four several doors and doorways. There were the two doors that led from the hallways getting here, and between them it looked like another large door leading to what I assumed was the Champion. On the left and right sides of the rectangular room were two doors each, all leading to a member of the Elite Four.

I took the northwest doorway into the Ironworks Chamber, and I stepped forward onto a large circular platform that glowed and raised up into a large chamber. A pair of large swords came down at my sides, and the barriers around me slid down to reveal my path to the first of the Elite Four.

I stepped forward and met Wikstrom, a man who wore plate armor and specialized in Steel-Type Pokemon.

Wilkstrom sent out Klefki, and I sent Gabriel out against it. Klefki started off by using Torment, and then Gabriel countered with Flame Charge for massive damage and a speed boost. Because of Torment, he couldn't use Flame Charge again, so I had him go up high to avoid Dazzling Gleam, then he struck with Fly for good damage, and then Klefki struck with Dazzling Gleam for minor damage.

Wilkstrom used a Full Restore to heal Klefki, and then Gabriel struck again with Flame Charge for massive damage. I had Gabriel go high again to avoid Flash Cannon, then he struck with Fly for good damage before he got hit by Flash Cannon for minor damage. Wilkstrom used another Full Restore, and Gabriel struck with another Flame Charge.

At this rate I knew that Wilkstrom would soon run out of Full Restores to heal the rest of his team, so I kept Gabriel going, and he went high to avoid Flash Cannon before he struck with Fly for great damage, then he got hit by Flash Cannon for good damage. Finally Gabriel struck with Flame Charge once more and knocked out Klefki.

Wilkstrom sent out Probopass next, and I sent Brody out against it. Brody struck with Earthquake, and it did massive damage, but Sturdy allowed Probopass to endure with 1 HP, and he struck back with Flash Cannon for good damage. Brody used Earthquake again, and Probopass was knocked out.

Axel and Jack grew to Level 72, and then I sent out Gabriel once more when Wilkstrom sent out Aegislash. Aegislash used King's Shield to protect itself, and when Gabriel tried to attack he merely got his own attack power lowered. Gabriel attacked with Flame Charge for good damage, and then Aegislash changed to Blade Form to use Shadow Claw, a critical hit that knocked out Gabriel.

Before Gabriel went down though, his Flame Body ability caused Aegislash to be burned. I sent out Brody against Aegislash next, and he attacked with Earthquake to do massive damage that knocked out Aegislash.

Scizor was sent out next, and I sent Axel out against it. I decided to use a Revive to heal Gabriel first, and Axel got hit by X-Scissor for massive damage. Axel attacked with Nuzzle for minor damage and caused paralysis, which stopped Scizor from attacking. Axel used Thunderbolt next for massive damage, and Scizor barely clung on to strike with X-Scissor. The attack knocked out Axel, but Axel's Rocky Helmet returned enough damage to ALSO knock out Scizor and win the battle! Gabriel also grew to Level 72 thanks to the victory.

With Wilkstrom defeated, I went onto the central platform and was teleported to the main room once more.

I healed my team, and then I continued on to the northeast doorway, the Blazing Chamber. I went up the elevator, and found myself in a room with stained-glass floors and a couple huge pillars of fire at either side. I stepped forward to meet the next member of the Elite Four.

I met Malva, the Fire-Type Specialist, on her throne, and we didn't bother with words before the battle began.

Malva sent out Pyroar against me, and I sent out Brody to fight it. Pyroar used Noble Roar to lower Brody's attack and special attack, then Brody attacked with Earthquake to deal massive damage. Malva used a Full Restore after that, and Brody went underground to avoid Flamethrower, then he struck with Dig for massive damage. Pyroar next used Hyper Voice for good damage before Brody attacked with Earthquake to deal massive damage and knocked it out.

Malva sent out Talonflame next, and I decided to send Axel out against it. Axel used Nuzzle to deal good damage and paralyze it, before Talonflame countered with Flame Blitz for massive damage, though Talonflame was hurt by Rocky Helmet AND recoil. Axel used Thunderbolt next, and Talonflame was knocked out.

Torkoal was sent out next, and I sent Jack out to fight against it. Jack struck with Waterfall, and it did massive damage to leave Torkoal in the red, and then it countered with Earthquake for good damage. Malva used a Full Restore to heal Torkoal before Jack used Waterfall again to deal massive damage. Jack struck once more with Waterfall, and Torkoal was knocked out.

Brody grew to Level 73, and I kept Jack in the fight when Chandelure was sent out last. Jack struck with Night Slash, and it did massive damage that knocked Chandelure out instantly, winning the battle!

After the battle I went back to the central platform again, and was teleported back to the main room.

- - - - -

I healed my team once more, then I went through the southwest doorway into the Dragonmark Chamber. I went up the elevator, and found myself in a shadowy chamber. The fog lifted, and a massive pair of stony wings and a dragon's head moved aside to reveal the third member of the Elite Four.

I stepped forward to meet Drasna, the Dragon-Type Specialist of the Elite Four. She seemed to think her Pokemon would get good training fighting me, but I knew my team was too strong for her.

Drasna sent out Dragalge, while I sent out Brody against it. Brody went underground and avoided Surf, then he attacked with Dig for massive damage that left Dragalge barely clinging on to use Surf for great damage. Drasna used a Full Restore next, but Brody struck with Earthquake for massive damage which knocked it out.

I sent Cadence out next when Drasna sent out Druddigon. Cadence attacked with Moonblast for massive damage, and knocked it out in one blow!

Cadence grew to Level 73, and I kept her in the fight when Altaria was sent out next. Cadence used Moonblast again for massive damage, and Altaria was knocked out instantly just as Druddigon was before.

Noivern was the last of Drasna's team, and I kept Cadence out to face it. Cadence used Moonblast again, and the massive damage knocked out Noivern instantly, winning the battle!

With all that out of the way, I went back to the central platform and was teleported to the main room once more.

- - - - -

I healed my team, and then I went to the southeast doorway, the Flood Chamber. I stepped onto the elevator and went up into a chamber with a couple sharp-looking gears spinning at my sides, rising up to fire water into the sky. There was water up to my ankles as water flowed down the walls, and I splashed my way to the last of the Elite Four.

I met with Siebold, the Water-Type Specialist who asked me if Pokemon Battles could be considered  art. I told him that I supposed they could be, given the skills of the Trainers leading the battle. He mentioned how cooking is a type of art that disappears as soon as it's completed, and that Pokemon Battles are the same.

The battle began, and Siebold sent out Clawitzer while I sent Logan out against it. Logan attacked with Energy Ball, which did massive damage and knocked it out instantly.

Logan grew to Level 73, and I decided to send out Axel when Siebold sent out Starmie. Axel used Nuzzle to deal great damage and cause paralysis, which stopped it from attacking. Axel next used Thunderbolt for massive damage which knocked Starmie out.

Axel and Jack both grew to Level 73, and I kept Axel in the fight when Gyarados was sent out. Axel used Thunder, but Gyarados avoided the attack, and used Dragon Dance to increase it's attack and speed. Axel used Thunderbolt next for massive damage, and Gyarados was knocked out instantly.

Finally Siebold was down to his last Pokemon, Barbaracle, and I sent out Logan to fight it. I had Logan Mega Evolve before he struck with Energy Ball for massive damage that knocked Barbaracle out in one blow to win the battle!

I stepped onto the central platform, and was teleported once more to the main room. When I got there, the large doors to the north opened up, inviting me to face the Champion.

- - - - -

My team made it through the last of the Elite Four without any damage, so I didn't need to worry about healing my Pokemon before I stepped through the doors into the Radiant Chamber.

I stepped onto the elevator in the bright and shining room, and found myself in a glowing chamber on a colorful platform. I stepped forward to face Diantha, the Champion of the Kalos Region. She recognized me from Lumiose City and Coumarine City, and she felt foolish for not recognizing me sooner.

Diantha thanked me for everything I did to save the world, and she looked forward to finding out what I and my Pokemon were capable of since she knew what we did.

Diantha sent out Hawlucha, and I sent Axel out against it. Axel started off with Nuzzle for massive damage, but it didn't cause paralysis, and then Hawlucha used Swords Dance to increase it's attack power. Axel struck with Thunderbolt next, and it dealt massive damage to knock Hawlucha out.

Diantha sent out Tyrantrum next, and I sent Cadence out against it. Cadence used Moonblast for massive damage, which knocked out Tyrantrum before it could do anything, and Gabriel grew to Level 73.

Diantha sent out Aurorus next, and I sent Brody out against it. Brody attacked with Earthquake which did massive damage, but Aurorus clung on to use Reflect. Diantha used a Full Restore to heal Aurorus, and Brody went underground before he struck with Dig for great damage, then Aurorus countered with Blizzard for massive damage. Brody struck with Earthquake once more, but Aurorus clung on and missed with Blizzard.

Diantha used another Full Restore to heal Aurorus, and Brody attacked with Earthquake once more for great damage. Brody used his last Earthquake, and it did massive damage to knock out Aurorus.

Brody grew to Level 74, and Diantha sent out Goodra while I sent Cadence out against it. Cadence attacked with Moonblast for massive damage, but Goodra clung on to attack with Fire Blast for good damage. Cadence used Moonblast again, and did great damage to knock Goodra out.

Cadence grew to Level 74, and then Diantha sent out Gourgeist while I decided to send Gabriel out against it. Gabriel used Flame Charge for massive damage, and a speed boost, before Gourgeist used Phantom Force to disappear. I had Gabriel go high to avoid the attack, then he struck with Fly for massive damage that knocked Gourgeist out!

Gardevoir was Diantha's last Pokemon, and I decided to send Logan out against it. It's ability, Trace, copied Logan's Overgrow ability, which wouldn't help it at all. I had Logan Mega Evolve into Mega Venusaur, just as Diantha had her Gardevoir Mega Evolve into Mega Gardevoir, then Logan struck with Sludge Bomb for massive damage, before it countered with Psychic for massive damage.

Diantha used a Full Restore to heal Gardevoir, then Logan attacked with Sludge Bomb again for massive damage, and Gardevoir barely clung on. Diantha used another Full Restore, and Logan attacked once more with Sludge Bomb, leaving Gardevoir in the red and poisoned, barely clinging on after the poison did damage. Logan used Sludge Bomb once more, and Gardevoir fainted to end the battle!

After the battle, Diantha told me she was choked up, not sure what to say, but she told me that she was glad she was good enough to be the Champion. She was glad it gave her the opportunity to meet  and battle with me and my Pokemon. She said she understood what Professor Sycamore meant when he said he needed to get Lumiose City ready for the new Champion.

She led me along to the central platform, and it raised up even higher to reach the Hall of Fame. I stepped forward to put my Pokeballs on the equipment to record their success through the Kalos Region, and to mark myself as the new Champion of the Kalos Pokemon League!

- - - - -

It was a few days later that my friends and I went to Lumiose City, where hundreds of people stood cheering for me as the new Champion of the Kalos League and as thanks for saving them all from the plans of Team Flare. I was presented with a medal, the Honor of Kalos, for saving the world. It felt really good to be cheered on for saving the world after all the times before with no thanks at all!

During the celebration, the tall man, AZ, wanted to battle me, to find out what a "trainer" really is. He sent out Torkoal, and I sent Axel out against it. Axel attacked with Thunderbolt for massive damage, and Torkoal countered with Stone Edge for great damage. Axel used Nuzzle next, and it did enough damage to knock Torkoal out.

Sigilyph was sent out next, and I decided to keep Axel in the fight. Axel attacked with Thunder, and it did massive damage to knock Sigilyph out instantly!

Golurk was the last Pokemon that AZ had to send out, and I sent Jack out against it. Jack struck with Waterfall, and it did massive damage to knock Golurk out in a single blow!

With the battle over, AZ just smiled at me, and thanked me for battling with him. He said he finally felt free from the part of himself mired in sorrow, sorrow that made him build the ultimate weapon. It was then that he saw a tiny Pokemon floating down, his long-lost Floette, which had been waiting all this time for him to return to the man he once was.

It felt good to reach the end of Pokemon Y, the game that I had originally started this journey for. I heard nothing but good things about Pokemon X/Y from my friends, and while it had been years since my last adventure in the world of Pokemon, I knew that I had overall enjoyed the time I spent playing the earlier games.

I'm glad I decided to start from the early days of Pokemon to make my way to this point. I know that I'm a better Trainer now than I ever was even during my heyday, and my Pokemon are all better for it. I can't wait to see what the future of Pokemon holds!

Current Team:

Axel (Raichu, Electric, Lv. 73)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 73)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 73)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 73)
Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 74)
Cadence (Florges, Fairy, Lv. 74)

Pokemon Y - Victory Road

I went west from Snowbelle City onto Route 21, where I immediately got into a battle with an Ace Trainer. After I beat her, I went and surfed north and found an Insect Plate, then I went back onto the main path to continue ahead. I quickly got into a Double Battle with another couple Ace Trainers, and by the end of the battle Brody grew to Level 64.

I found a boulder nearby, and pushed it north until it dropped into a hole, and I continued north to get into a battle with a Veteran. Through the battle Jack grew to Level 65, and after that I went inside a nearby home belonging to a Move Tutor, who would teach a powerful Dragon-Type move. I left there and found a Repeat Ball and Figy Berry nearby before I continued on my way.

I found a dirt path that went south, and I slid down it to get into another battle with an Ace Trainer, but it went quickly and I found myself looking at a strength puzzle afterward. I made my way around and quickly found myself in another battle with a Veteran, though it ended quickly and Logan and Gabriel both grew to Level 65.

I snagged a nearby elixir, and then I worked my way through the strength puzzle, pushing boulders here and there until I cleared out a long path through the area. For my efforts I snagged TM22 (Solar Beam) and a Rare Candy, then I made my way back to the path and reached Victory Road.

Before going through Victory Road, I decided to continue west to explore Route 22, and find more items and Trainers. I quickly got into a battle with a Lass, but her only Pokemon was extremely weak and went down easily. The same thing happened with the other couple Trainers I battled, so I got almost no experience, but after the third battle I managed to snag a Litleo (Fire/Normal, Female, Lv. 5) before I continued along the path.

I got into another battle with another Trainer, and his Pokemon went down quickly before I got into another short battle with another Trainer, and then another, all beaten easily. I snagged a nearby Elixir, then I went to the end of the path to reach Santalune City. While there, I healed my team and got into lighter clothing, before I headed back to further explore Route 22.

I surfed along the stream nearby and soon found a new area to explore. I quickly got into a battle with an Ace Trainer, and through it Axel, Brody, AND Cadence all grew to Level 65. I passed by her to grab a Tanga Berry, then I worked my way through another strength puzzle. When I reached the end of the puzzle, I got TM26 (Earthquake) for my effort.

After the puzzle, I went north to find myself in another battle with an Ace Trainer, but I won with a single attack. I went into the cavern he was standing by, and found a Spooky Plate there. I found nothing else, so I left, but before I went back to the entrance to Victory Road I surfed through the stream and found a Draco Plate.

Finally I went to the gate to Victory Road, where I was stopped by an Ace Trainer who guarded the entrance. He demanded to see my gym badges, and when he saw I had earned all eight he decided to test me in a battle. Jack took down his first Pokemon, Carbink, then I sent Brody out to defeat his Raichu, before finally Axel took down Kingdra, his last Pokemon.

With the Ace Trainer defeated, I was allowed to pass through onto Victory Road. I decided to quickly head back to town to get more supplies for the journey ahead, as well as to heal my team. With preparations made, I went through the gate and onto Victory Road.

I used a Max Repel and went into the cave, ready to fight anyone who stood in my way. I quickly got into a battle with an Ace Trainer, and after that I surfed across a small pond to the west, and went up some stairs further along the path. I got into another battle with an Ace Trainer, and through the battle Jack grew to Level 66.

After the battle I had to heal my team, and then I went west and up some stairs before I found myself in another battle, and through it Logan and Brody both grew to Level 66. I went ahead and left the cavern, and walked onto a bridge outside where I got into another battle. Through the battle Cadence, Brody, and Axel all grew to Level 66, and then I continued past the bridge and along the path before I went into another cave.

I got into another battle at the entrance, a short battle, and afterwards I looked on at the path ahead. There were a few ledges going to many raised rock pillars along different paths, but they all linked so you weren't forced to choose one or the other and get stuck. I made my way along, and got into another battle, and after that I used strength to move a boulder into a hole.

With the path opened up, I could go one of two ways; north at the crossed path, or further along the path and up some stairs. I decided to go north first to find myself in another battle, and after I beat the Black Belt I went further north and found a Carbos, but nothing else.

I healed Gabriel after that and I continued along the path, up the stairs, and into a Double Battle, and by the end of it Gabriel grew to Level 67. I continued along the path, over a bridge, up some stairs, and then outside the cave once more.

I went along the path, battling another Trainer among some ruins, and by the end of it both Jack and Logan grew to Level 67. After I beat her, I looked around, saw more Trainers along the path going north, and a boulder south of the main path. I used strength to move it, and found another cave. I went inside, then down several stairs, and then I have to move another boulder to make a shortcut to the entrance of Victory Road.

I went back to the path outside among the ruins, and I got into another battle, this time with a Hex Maniac. By the end of the battle both Axel and Brody grew to Level 67, then I healed Brody and moved along to find a Pokemon Ranger who healed my team. I snagged a Quick Ball and then proceeded south along the path.

Before I could get too far I was stopped by Serena. She told me she had been thinking about the situation in Geosenge Town, and how Lysandre chose only Team Flare. She remarked that she and I chose everyone BUT Team Flare, but since our positions forced our hands, you couldn't really say that any of us were right.

She told me that she felt that if both sides have something to say that it would be best to meet halfway. Because of that, she made a decision, that she didn't want to battle just to win, but to see how my Pokemon and I think and feel.

With that, I got into another battle with Serena. She sent out Meowstic while I sent out Cadence against it. Meowstic started with Fake Out, causing Cadence to flinch, but doing little else. Cadence attacked with Moon Blast next, doing massive damage, before Meowstic countered with Psychic for good damage. Cadence attacked with Dazzling Gleam, and did good damage to knock it out.

Cadence grew to Level 67, and then I sent Axel out against Serena's Vaporeon. Axel struck with Thunderbolt for massive damage, and Axel avoided it's counterattack, Muddy Water. Axel attacked once more with Thunderbolt for great damage, and knocked Vaporeon out.

Next up was Altaria, and I decided to keep Axel in the fight. He attacked first with Nuzzle which did minor damage but paralyzed Altaria, stopping it from attacking. Axel used Thunder next, and it struck for massive damage, before Altaria countered with Dragon Pulse for great damage. Axel attacked with Thunderbolt again, and Altaria was knocked out.

Serena sent out her next Pokemon, Chesnaught, while I sent Gabriel out against it. Gabriel went high and avoided Body Slam, then he struck with Fly for massive damage that took out Chesnaught in one blow.

Absol was the last of Serena's Pokemon, and I sent Cadence out against it. Cadence struck with Moonblast for massive damage, which knocked out Absol and won the battle.

After the battle, Serena told me that she felt like she and I are alike, and that's why she didn't want to lose to me. She thought that the reason we're so alike is because we have so many things in common, and she told me she was happy that we're friends.

She gave me some Max Revives, and told me she was renewing her rivalry with me, and she ordered me to become a stronger and stronger Pokemon Trainer. Serena said she'd also get stronger, and told me that she believed the first step is mastering the power that comes from the bond between her and her Pokemon, just like I had done. She told me to do my best, and believed I could handle it.

Serena left after that, and I went back to the Pokemon Ranger to heal my team before I continued on. I went into another cave, and quickly got into a battle with a Pokemon Ranger. The battle ended quickly, and I made my way through several ramps in a small maze before I continued along the path.

I went north and got into a battle with a Veteran, then I snagged a nearby Dragon Fang and then a Full Restore as I made my way back. I got into another battle with a Pokemon Ranger, and by the end of it Axel, Cadence, AND Gabriel all grew to Level 68.

I continued along the path and got into another battle, this time with a Veteran, and through the battle Jack and Logan both grew to Level 68. I pushed a boulder at the south to make a new path, then I continued further along the path and out of the cave.

I got into another battle, this time with an Artist, and Brody was able to take down his Smeargle easily, and he grew to Level 68. I continued along the path and got into yet another battle, and found a pier in a pond, with a cave and waterfall nearby. I surfed on the pond and went up the waterfall, and I got into another battle, and afterwards found TM02 (Dragon Claw) before I went back down the waterfall and into the cave.

Just as I was on the final stretch, I had a few more battles to fight. By the end of all that fighting the entire team, Gabriel, Axel, Cadence, Jack, Logan, and Brody ALL grew to Level 69. With them out of the way, I continued along the path, up some stairs, and out the caverns to finally reach the Pokemon League.

Current Team:

Brody (Diggersby, Normal/Ground, Lv. 69)
Jack (Greninja, Water/Dark, Lv. 69)
Logan (Venusaur, Grass/Poison, Lv. 69)
Axel (Raichu, Electric, Lv. 69)
Cadence (Florges, Fairy, Lv. 69)
Gabriel (Talonflame, Fire/Flying, Lv. 69)
