Pokemon Black - Dragonspiral Tower

I headed north, starting on the path to Dragonspiral Tower. I was stopped by Bianca, and we saw Cedric at the gap between the trees leading to the tower. Cedric introduced himself to Bianca, and after a short talk decided they should chat later. Cedric then got down to business, telling us the situation.

It appeared that a large group from Team Plasma broke through the tower wall and went inside. Brycen and Cheren both went after Team Plasma, but there wasn't any information on their progress since they followed the group in. Bianca asked what Dragonspiral Tower was, and he explained to her that it had stood since long before Unova was founded, and that a Legendary Dragon-Type Pokemon waits for a person pursuing ideals to appear.

Cedric asked if we were going to go after Team Plasma like Cheren did, telling us it was admirable but also risky. Bianca told him not to worry, that both Cheren and I were very strong, and that we've beaten Team Plasma before. Bianca admitted to him that she's not very strong, and wanted to be Cedric's bodyguard. Cedric said that it made him feel much safer, and it was up to me to climb the tower, before he handed over Old Gateau.

I went forward through the clearing, and I found a new, metal bridge going through a large hole in the tower. I went through the hole and entered the tower, and found myself on some tiled platforms above the water. I quickly got into a battle with a wild Pokemon, and with a single blow Cole grew to Level 44. While on that first floor, I caught a Druddigon (Dragon, Male, Lv. 32), a Golett (Ground/Ghost, Lv. 32), and a Mienfoo (Fighting, Female, Lv. 33).

Before I could start on the second floor, the tower shook, and it felt like something was happening at the top of the tower. I reached the second floor, and was stopped by Cheren. who was standing on a raised platform to the west. He told me I could walk across the fallen pillars all around the floor, and then he continued on to fight Team Plasma.

Several pillars had fallen, making for paths I could walk across, and there was plenty of rubble from their destruction too. The problem I had was wondering if these pillars had fallen down years ago, or just recently from the commotion, and I wondered if they were supposed to hold up the tower? I snagged a Hyper Potion, then went across a couple fallen columns, and I snagged a Stardust before I continued west.

I went up some curved stairs to a third floor, and I found a platforming puzzle with platforms and ramps, where ramps led to different platforms. I made my way around, grabbed a Shiny Stone, then I got through the puzzle and went up another set of curved stairs to a fourth floor.

I found Cheren and Brycen both confronting a large group of Plasma Grunts, and Brycen told me they'd hold them there, and to go on ahead. Cheren was confident in his own abilities, but admitted that there were a lot of Plasma Grunts. I would help thin the herd, taking out a couple Grunts as I made my way past.

By the time I had reached the fifth floor, Arthur and Nora had both grown to Level 43, and I had snagged a Dragon Fang. I found that the fifth floor was a circular platform, spiraling around with steel slabs creating bridges as well as walls. It appeared Team Plasma had used the same panels that made the bridge to get further through the tower. I grabbed a Stardust, a Revive, and a Star Piece before I moved around to reach the sixth floor.

As I made my way to the sixth floor, the tower shook once more, and it appeared that something was on a rampage at the top of the tower. I grabbed a Max Elixir as I made my way through, and then I spotted one of the Seven Sages speaking to a group of Plasma Grunts. He told them that soon N would become the hero, before he noticed me.

The Sage was shocked that I had made it up there, and commanded his small army to stop me. They surrounded me, and he told me that anyone who isn't Team Plasma is an enemy. He commanded them to use all their powers to take me out, and I was forced to battle with them one by one. Through all the battles, Madelyn grew to Level 43, and afterwards they were forced to let me pass.

I reached the seventh floor, the top of the tower, where I saw N standing before a large, black Dragon-Type Pokemon, Zekrom. N asked me what I thought, asking how I liked the powerful form of this Pokemon who fights beside the hero that would lead the way to a new world. N told me Zekrom and he would head to the Pokemon League and defeat the Champion. N told me it would be the last time a Pokemon would be hurt in battle, and revealed that he wanted a world for Pokemon alone.

Zekrom left, and N told me that if I wanted to stop him, I would have to become a hero as well. N told me that Zekrom had a counterpart, Reshiram, and if it recognized me that we would finally be even, and only then could I try to stop him. He asked what I would do, predicting that I would indeed meet Reshiram. N said that my Pokemon believe in me so strongly, and wondered if I would be the one to interfere with his formula for changing the world. If I wanted to protect the bonds between people and Pokemon, I would have to find Reshiram, waiting for me in the form of the Light Stone.

Zekrom grabbed N and they flew away, and Cheren and Brycen both came up the stairs after. Cheren was amazed at what he just saw, and Brycen couldn't understand how this could happen. Cheren asked me why N was with that Legendary Pokemon, refusing to believe that N could be the hero. Cheren had overheard N telling me to search for the other Legendary Pokemon, and Brycen said that we needed to head back, that it was more important to decide what to do next than analyze what had just happened.

We all left the tower, meeting up with Cedric and Bianca. Cedric was amazed, never imagining that Zekrom would return, and Cheren told him that N had reawakened it. Cheren told Cedric what N had told me to do, and Bianca was surprised at news that there were two of these Pokemon. Someone called out to us, and we turned around to see Alder, the Champion.

Cedric tried to make smalltalk, but Alder told him it was no time for chitchat. Alder told us that Zekrom has the power to destroy the world, and that with it's power Team Plasma could force everyone to release their Pokemon. Alder said that with Zekrom's power, the world would become one where people are separated from Pokemon, and Cedric told Alder what N had said. Alder told us that according to legend, the power of Zekrom and Reshiram devastated ancient Unova in an instant, and couldn't believe that N could know that and still want to awaken the other.

Alder wasn't sure that other Pokemon could stand up to it, because it is a legendary being. He didn't like the idea of taking orders from N, but told us that searching for the other stone might not be a bad plan, telling us that we could not afford to let Team Plasma reawaken BOTH of those Pokemon. Alder said he had an idea of where it might be, telling us to head to the Relic Castle.

Cedric left to investigate inside the tower, and Brycen went with him. Cheren realized what strength was; being able to do something for somebody at a time like this, and that this strength is given to him by his Pokemon. Cheren went with Alder to the Relic Castle, and Bianca wasn't sure what to do, asking if I would go to the Relic Castle as well.

I went to the Pokemon Center to heal my team, and get ready for more fighting against Team Plasma. Now that I know N's ultimate goal, not just the separation of people and Pokemon, but also the annihilation of humanity itself, I knew I would HAVE to stop him!

Pokemon Black - Icirrus City and the Icirrus Gym

I did some training in Nimbasa City, and both Zach and Arthur grew to Level 42. After the training, when I was back at the Icirrus Pokemon Center, I received TM31 (Brick Break) from an old woman there, which I taught to Cole in place of Rock Smash. Inside the Pokemon Center I also found an old man who loved ores of all kinds, and bought several off me for a lot of money.

Just outside the Pokemon Center, a man told me a story about a Legendary Pokemon who gave help to a hero who sought ideals, and how it's actions caused the creation of the region. He also said that when it's physical form was lost, it became the Dark Stone, waiting for a new hero.

I found some wetland area, where I caught a Shelmet (Bug, Male, Lv. 33) and a Stunfisk (Ground/Electric, Male, Lv. 34) and Madelyn grew to Level 42. I explored the town after that, and found someone who talked more about this old legend, telling me the Pokemon from the story was named Zekrom, and that it's bond with the hero was like that between parent and child.

I went into one house, and was told by the woman of the house, named Wye, to follow her. Apparently I had stumbled upon a "Pep Quiz" where I was asked a question by her husband, Aha, and their daughter Ditoh wished me luck. The answer to the question was Uncle, and Aha handed over an Antidote as a reward.

I soon found the Pokemon Fan Club, and the man inside gave me an Exp Share after I showed him Cole. I talked to the girl in there as well, and she told me that Cole was extremely friendly with me, as I knew he was.

With seemingly nothing else to do, and the city explored, I decided I would battle the Icirrus Gym Leader and get my seventh Badge. Luckily I had been training my Pokemon hard for this, and I knew they were up to the challenge.

My team consisted of:

Cole (Emboar, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 42)
Mason (Zebstrika, Electric, Lv. 42)
Nora (Seismitoad, Water/Ground, Lv. 42)
Zach (Liepard, Dark, Lv. 42)
Arthur (Simisage, Grass, Lv. 42)
Madelyn (Unfezant, Normal/Flying, Lv. 42)

I went inside, and found it an icy cavern. I saw large panels of ice on the floor, and Clyde told me that Fire-, Fighting-, Rock-, and Steel-Type attacks would do massive damage against Ice-Type Pokemon. I stepped forward, sliding about on ice, and I was spun left by a curved spinner. I stepped to the right and slid to some stone flooring.

I got into a battle with a Black Belt, and afterwards I stepped on the red panel to the north which worked gears under the ice to turn the spinner. I healed Nora, and stepped onto the ice, sliding forward before arcing north, and I got into another short battle. Afterwards I went across more ice, over a chasm, and then got into yet another battle.

I quickly found myself in a more complex area, with rocks, stone floors, and a curved spinner in the center. I slid about before I found myself on a small area, and got into another battle. I got onto the ice and slid around a while, and I was able to step on a red switch to turn the curved spinner. I managed to spin around, and I went across the chasm again on another ramp, and I found myself on yet another puzzle area.

I was growing tired of these puzzles, but I knew I was getting close to the end. I got into another battle, and Cole grew to Level 43, and learned Flamethrower in place of Flame Charge. I slid and spun around for a time before I got into another battle, and after I stepped on a red switch to turn the spinner. Finally I made my way to the end of the Icirrus Gym, and I found myself in front of the Gym Leader.

The Gym Leader, Brycen, spoke little, not even introducing himself. We started the battle immediately, and I sent Cole out against his Vanillish. Cole hit it with Flamethrower, and it was knocked out instantly.

Brycen sent out Beartic next, and I decided to send Mason out against it. Mason hit Beartic with Spark for great damage, and it became paralyzed and couldn't attack. Mason hit Beartic with Thunderbolt next for great damage, before it countered with Icicle Crash for great damage. Brycen used a Hyper Potion to heal Beartic, and it got hit by another Spark for great damage. Mason hit Beartic again with Thunderbolt for great damage, and then Beartic countered with Swagger to confuse Mason.

Brycen used another Hyper Potion, and Mason hurt himself in his confusion, and I decided to stop messing about when I sent Cole out once more. Beartic was stopped by paralysis, and Cole struck it down with Flamethrower, and so Mason grew to Level 43. Finally Brycen was forced to send out his last Pokemon, Cryogonal, and Cole was up to the task. Cryogonal used Aurora Beam for minor damage, and Cole countered with Flamethrower for massive damage.

Cryogonal managed to hold on somehow, and it struck with Aurora Beam once more for minor damage, before Cole finished it off with Brick Break. With Cryogonal knocked out, the battle was over, and I had won!

Brycen handed over the Freeze Badge, and now Pokemon up to Level 80 would obey me. Brycen also handed over TM79 (Frost Breath), a move that always results in a critical hit. Brycen told me that as many battles as he had been in, he didn't know what strength was, and wondered if I would find the answer.

I left the Icirrus Gym, and was confronted by Cheren and Bianca. He told me he had been talking with Bianca, and asked me if I noticed any change about him since we left Nuvema Town. He told me he had been thinking about what he wanted to do, what he should do, and told me it felt like there was nothing. Cheren wondered if he had really become stronger, or if it was just his Pokemon that had grown stronger.

Cheren told me he didn't know anymore, and Bianca told him to cheer up. Bianca told me that she would go to the Pokemon Fan Club, searching for what she wanted to do, what she could do. Brycen came out after, asking who Bianca and Cheren were, but Brycen seemed to be talking to someone else. He said he knew they were there, asking them to show themselves, and suddenly the Shadow Triad appeared.

The leader of the Shadow Triad was impressed, being that their group were of the shadows and not easily noticed. Apparently their mission was to speak with me, and the message was to come to Dragonspiral Tower, from Ghetsis himself! It appeared that N was waiting for me there, and with their message given they were about to leave when Brycen asked what was going on.

Unfortunately the Shadow Triad disappeared, leaving us all confused as to the intentions of Team Plasma. Brycen told Cheren to wait for his Gym challenge, telling us he had to head to Dragonspiral Tower. Cheren said he would go too, and they left together, leaving Bianca and myself alone in front of the Icirrus Gym.

Bianca wondered what we should do, and decided that she would head to Dragonspiral Tower as well, while I left to get my team healed at the Pokemon Center. It looked like things were going to get very interesting, very soon.

Current Team:

Pokemon Black - Twist Mountain

I did more training in Nimbasa City, and through the battles Mason, Arthur, Zach, and Madelyn all grew to Level 40, while Cole and Nora both grew to Level 41. I decided that, before I would head to Twist Mountain, I should run a couple errands I've been needing to. I went to Nacrene City to get that Fossil restored, and so I got Tirtouga (Water/Rock, Male, Lv. 25). I also headed back to the island on Route 18 to get the egg from that Trainer.

Before I could even make it into the caverns of Twist Mountain, I got into a battle with a Hiker, and Mason grew to Level 41. I headed into the cave, and I found Cheren talking with Clay. Clay was surprised to see Cheren and I while he was inspecting the mountain, telling us that we seemed more rugged to him. I wasn't sure what he meant by that... Should I shave?

Clay asked us if we had seen Team Plasma lately, telling us that he and the other Gym Leaders met up to talk about Team Plasma. This group of powerful Trainers couldn't find Team Plasma anywhere, and were resigned to wait for them to make their move. Clay told us this wasn't our concern, telling me and Cheren that we should just enjoy traveling with our Pokemon.

Clay told us that Twist Mountain was a great place to explore, that we could have some fun if we just left the path. Clay told us that we should see it ourselves instead of listening to him talking, and he bid us farewell before he left, after giving us permission to train on 'his' mountain. Cheren thought Clay would involve us in all that Team Plasma business again, and he was bracing himself for a battle, but since Clay let us go on Cheren went on ahead.

I went through a doorway and found myself in a giant cavern where workers were apparently mining for resources. I snagged a Full Heal and a Revive before I went through a southern doorway. I got into a battle with a Hiker, then I caught a Cubchoo (Ice, Male, Lv. 28) before I went through doorway and got into a battle with an Ace Trainer. After the battle, Zach grew to Level 41, and I continued on.

I got into another battle which saw Arthur get knocked out as I made my way north through a long cavernous hallway. I had to revive Arthur after he was knocked out, and I healed him up before I got through a door into the central cavern once more. I got into another battle with a Worker, and after the battle Arthur grew to Level 41.

I headed north through another door and wandered a bit before I got into another battle with a Worker. After the battle Madelyn grew to Level 41, and I got to the end of the path to snag a Moon Stone before I grabbed a hidden Stardust and went down some stairs to the south and through another doorway to the second floor.

I found a small cavern with several piles of dirt, and when I went to inspect I was caught by surprise by a Worker hiding in one of the piles. I got into a battle, and afterward Cole grew to Level 42. I snagged a nearby Stardust, then I headed west through another doorway into the central chamber.

I grabbed a Max Potion, and also an Ether on the walkways, before I went through another doorway on the west side of the chamber. I went down one path in this winding cavern and grabbed a Nugget, then I got into a battle with another Worker before I snagged a PP Up and made my way east through another doorway.

I battled and won against a Doctor, and Mason grew to Level 42. I won the battle, then the Doctor healed my team before I continued through another doorway to the north. I went through some caverns, then I battled another Hiker before I went through a doorway to the south and into more caverns. I went down stairs to get to the first floor, and got into yet another battle with a Black Belt. After the battle, Nora grew to Level 42, and I went south to get into yet another battle, this time with another Worker.

I made my way past the worker and found myself on the first floor of the central chamber. I went inside a hug where I found a couple desks and some bunk-beds, but nobody was about. I went past a couple Bulldozers and made my way into more caverns, where I spotted Cheren confronting a Plasma Grunt.

It appeared that Cheren beat the Grunt, and she complained that the only reason he was strong was because he controlled Pokemon. Cheren countered with the belief that if the Plasma Grunt wanted Pokemon to be free, she should start with her own. He told her that taking people's Pokemon by force wasn't right, that it wasn't real strength.

A second Plasma Grunt entered, looking for the first, and told her that they found the thing they were looking for, and that they should head to the tower. They told us that Team Plasma had obtained the power needed to change the world, and end people's control over Pokemon. They believed that they must use force to right the wrongs of the world, and they left to gather around N.

After they left, Cheren commented on their drive to gain power and cause trouble. Cheren told me he would stay for a while, pondering what the Champion asked him. Cheren had to figure out what he would do with his strength, and WHY he wanted to be strong to begin with.

I finally made my way out of the cave, and I encountered Cedric Juniper, asking me how Zach was. Cedric told me he could see that Zach was fond of me, and he told me that while the Pokedex is important, just as important is time spent having fun together. Cedric asked if I had heard of Dragonspiral Tower, and I told him no.

Cedric wasn't surprised that I hadn't heard of it, and he told me it was the oldest building in the Unova region. Cedric said that stories told of the Legendary Pokemon that came to life, or where they remain in deep slumber. Cedric himself only knew that it was just past Icirrus City, but that was all, that nobody else knew anything either. It turned out that no one (in modern times, anyway) had ever been inside Dragonspiral Tower, and that his daughter, Professor Juniper, had wanted to investigate the tower for a long time.

Cedric was excited to find out more about Dragonspiral Tower, the feeling of not knowing about something feeling like adventure to him. He told me he wasn't too old for adventuring, and so he left to look at the tower.

I had finally reached Icirrus City, and I got my team healed up at the Pokemon Center. Soon I would explore the city, and go for my next Badge!

Pokemon Black - Catching Virizion

Before I started in Pinwheel Forest, I decided to head back to Nimbasa City to do some training, and there Madelyn grew to Level 39. I handed Cole the Lucky Egg to help his training, and then I went back to Nacrene City to make my way to Pinwheel Forest.

I made my way along the path, and grabbed TM22 (Solar Beam) and pocketed it before I continued on my way. As I headed through, I also found a Hyper Potion, and soon I found myself in the Rumination Field.

I saved the game, and then I started the battle with Virizion. I sent out Mason against Virizion, and he got hit by Giga Drain for great damage before he countered with Thunderbolt for minor damage. I switched over to Cole, and Virizion used Giga Drain for good damage and healed the damage Mason did. I had Cole use Strength for great damage, after he was hit by Retaliate for good damage.

It appeared that Virizion had great defense, and I wasn't sure about trying a Fire-Type attack. Cole got hit by Sacred Sword for great damage, and he countered with Rock Smash for good damaged with pushed Virizion into the yellow. Virizion failed with Helping Hand next, and I had Cole strike with another Rock Smash which pushed the Legendary Pokemon into the yellow.

I switched over to Mason, who got hit by Sacred Sword, but he hung on only to be knocked out by Retaliate before I could have him use Thunder Wave. I sent out Madelyn next, and while she took a couple blows I revived Mason and healed him up. I thanked Madelyn for being my shield, and I sent out Mason again, who took some damage but was able to land Thunder Wave to paralyze Virizion.

I sent Arthur out, and then I started using my Ultra Balls to try catching Virizion. The first Ultra Ball did nothing, the second shook three times but Virizion managed to escape, and then Arthur was knocked out. I switched over to Nora, and continued tossing Ultra Balls.

The third Ultra Ball did nothing, but Virizion couldn't counterattack because of paralysis. The fourth shook three times, but Virizion refused to be caught, and the fifth one shook once, but Virizion did nothing in the attempt at Helping Hand. The Sixth Ultra Ball failed instantly, and then Nora was hit by Sacred Sword for great damage.

I kept at it with the Ultra Balls, seven more all failed before Nora was knocked out by Giga Drain and Virizion brought itself back to yellow health. I sent Madelyn back out there, and had her heal up with Roost while Virizion was stopped by paralysis. I knew I couldn't attempt a Flying-Type attack, so I just tried with another Ultra Ball before Madelyn got hit by Sacred Sword for great damage.

I switched to Mason, who attacked with Spark for great damage, which left Virizion deep in the yellow but outside of the red. I knew it's health was too low to attempt another attack, so I decided to continue with Ultra Balls. I tossed a pair of Ultra Balls and both failed, then Mason barely clung on after getting hit by Giga Drain which healed Virizion again.

I sent out Madelyn once more, and I tossed another couple Ultra Balls before Giga Drain was used to heal Virizion and bring it to green health once more. I took a risk with Aerial Ace, and it did massive damage which knocked out Virizion.

- - - - -

I reloaded my game, and tried again, frustrated at yet another Legendary Pokemon that refused to be caught. I started out with Cole this time, and he got hit by Giga Drain for good damage before he countered with Flame Charge for massive damage, leaving Virizion in the yellow. Virizion attacked again with Giga Drain for good damage, before Cole countered with Strength for great damage which left Virizion deep in the red.

I switched out to Mason, and he got hit by Sacred Sword for great damage, before he countered with Thunder Wave to leave Virizion paralyzed. I started using Ultra Balls again, and the first did nothing, and Mason was hit by Retaliate which put him in the yellow. I tossed two Ultra Balls and both failed, then Virizion used Giga Drain to heal a bit and knock out Mason.

I switched out to Cole, then I tried another Ultra Ball, and finally Virizion (Grass/Fighting, Lv. 42) was caught! I had Madelyn fly us to Mistralton City so I could heal my team, and get ready for the trek through Twist Mountain. My next Badge awaits beyond the mountain, and I am eager to continue my journey.

Current Team:

 Cole (Emboar, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 39)
Mason (Zebstrika, Electric, Lv. 39)
Arthur (Simisage, Grass, Lv. 39)

Pokemon Black - The Mistralton Cave and Catching Cobalion

I went to Nimbasa City to do some training, where Zach grew to Level 39. After I was done with training, I headed off to Driftveil City to explore the Mistralton Cave located on Route 6. While on the path I found TM84 (Poison Jab) and also an Ultra Ball and an Elixir. Also, while I was heading to the cave, Cole grew to Level 39, and I taught Mason to use Thunderbolt in place of Discharge.

I went inside the cave, and it was pitch black. I pondered teaching one of my Pokemon to use Flash, but I really didn't think such a move was going to be useful by itself, especially when Mason already knew Thunder Wave to cause paralysis. Fortunately I had a map from Bulbapedia, and I wandered around in the dark for a time.

I moved a large boulder around, then I went down some stairs and headed east, before I was stopped by a Hiker for a battle. After the battle I continued east, moved a boulder, then I went north up some stairs, and got into a battle with another Hiker. I snagged a Max Repel at the end of the side path, and then I taught Nora to use Bulldoze in place of Mud Shot. After that I continued on the main path, I got into a battle with a wild Axew, and after the battle Mason grew to Level 39. I felt a bit disappointed that I didn't catch it, but I knew I could catch one at a lower level from Pokemon Y when I get to it.

I continued west and moved a boulder to become a shortcut to the entrance, then I went south and then up some stairs to the next floor. I moved a boulder, went back south to grab an Ultra Ball, and then went across the path and snagged a Hyper Potion. I went up some stairs onto a hill, moved around a bit, then grabbed a Hard Stone before I moved a boulder. Before going to the next floor, I went north and west, and snagged TM80 (Rock Slide). Nora also grew to Level 39 during some wild Pokemon battles.

I finally reached the third floor, and found that it was bright, and that I could see. The third floor was called the Guidance Chamber, and as I made my way through the cave I was stopped by an old man. The old man had a story to tell, and I said I would listen to him.

The old man told me a story, about when Pokemon people lived in different worlds. He told me of a war between people, which started an intense fire in a forest where many Pokemon lived. The Pokemon were in danger from the fire, and three Legendary Pokemon, Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion appeared to save them all. Terrakion used it's strength to destroy rocks blocking the escape route, Virzion used it's speed to protect Pokemon from the flames, and Cobalion led the frightened Pokemon out of the woods.

The old man continued, saying that the people who started the war were stopped by these Legendary Pokemon, and because of these three Pokemon the war ended. He said that when people fight, there's no peace for Pokemon either, and that those three Pokemon knew that such events could have dire consequences for their world. He told me how they disappeared, cutting themselves off from people, and so they faded into myth.

The old man told me that he'd been searching for them for decades, and finally found one of them deep in the cave we were standing in. He told me that they don't trust people, that if people approach that they would attack, and he said it couldn't be helped because the three Legendary Pokemon only know the old world. They still didn't know of the unity between people and Pokemon, and how both sides work together for the betterment of both.

The old man thought I would be able to show them that people and Pokemon could trust one another, that they could live together. He thought that if they took another look at people, that perhaps they would stop hiding, and while I didn't know anything about that I did know I wanted to catch this Legendary Trio.

I made my way through the cave, and Arthur grew to Level 39 with a few wild Pokemon battles. I also found a Dusk Stone at the end of a path, and Rare Candy at the end of another. Finally, I reached Cobalion and started the battle against it.

I sent Madelyn out against Cobalion, and it used Sacred Sword for great damage, before Madelyn countered with Aerial Ace for good damage. Cobalion tried using Helping Hand next, but it failed, then Madelyn went high, and struck with Fly for great damage. Cobalion used Iron Head next for great damage, and Madelyn was pushed to the red, before she countered with Aerial Ace to push Cobalion into the yellow.

I switched out to Mason next, and he got hit by Sacred Sword for massive damage, and then Cobalion failed with Helping Hand before Mason struck it with Thunder Wave to paralyze it. Mason hit Cobalion with Stomp for minor damage, and Cobalion flinched, then Mason Stomped it again for minor damage, before it used Sacred Sword to knock Mason out.

I sent out Zach next, and he used Slash for minor damage to push Cobalion into the red, and it was stopped by paralysis. With Cobalion in the red and paralyzed, I decided to start using Ultra Balls to try catching it. The first Ultra Ball did nothing, and Zach was knocked out, and I switched to Nora, before I continued using Ultra Balls. The second Ultra Ball gave one shake, the third did nothing, and finally the fourth was successful!

Cobalion (Steel/Fighting, Lv. 42) was caught, and then the old man came up to me. He told me that because of me Cobalion had sensed a change in the world, a world where people and Pokemon live and work together. The old man believed that Cobalion wanted to remain with me and travel with me, and he told me that Terrakion and Virizion should feel the same because of the close bond between the three.

The old man told me he was sure the other two would give me a chance to prove my worth, and I found myself eager to get all three. The old man told me that any obstacles that separated the other two from people are probably gone now, and he said that the decision to search for Terrakion and Virizion would be up to me, but they were definitely waiting for me one way or another.

I used an Escape Rope to get out of the cave, then I had Madelyn fly me to Nacrene City to heal up, and make preparations to travel through Pinwheel Forest once more to find another of the trio. I remembered the old man blocking the path before, talking of a powerful Pokemon through it, and I knew that one of those Legendary Pokemon had to be there.

Pokemon Black - Exploring the Ocean

I did some training in Nimbasa City, and Zach and Arthur both grew to Level 36. I would have gotten more training done, but one of the domes had a game going on.

I flew back home to Nuvema Town, and visited Mom, who let me rest my team. I headed a bit north, then west on Route 1, heading toward Route 17. I got into a battle with a Pokemon Ranger, and during the battle Zach grew to Level 37. I gave Arthur the Lucky Egg to hold onto next, and continued on my way. I got into a Double-Battle with a pair of wild Pokemon as I made my way through dark grass, and after the battle Madelyn grew to Level 37.

I battled with a Fisherman, and grabbed a Max Ether, then I got into another Double-Battle with wild Pokemon, and Arthur grew to Level 37. I handed the Lucky Egg to Cole, and fought another Pokemon Ranger, and after the battle both Cole AND Nora grew to Level 37. I gave the Lucky Egg to Zach, and then I continued on to reach Route 17.

I was at the edge of the ocean, where strong currents could push my team and I around. I snagged TM06 (Toxic) and then battled a Fisherman, which resulted in Zach being knocked out. I used a Revive and some Fresh Water to bring Zach back to fighting shape, then I fought against a Swimmer nearby.

I soon came across some strong currents, and I went through a couple, then battled with another Swimmer, and through the battle both Zach and Mason grew to Level 38, and I gave the Lucky Egg to Madelyn before I snagged a Deep Sea Tooth and went back through the current.

I snagged a Frillish (Water/Ghost, Female, Lv. 15) and an Alomomola (Water, Male, Lv. 8) and then I decided to head back to civilization to heal my team and to get more healing items. I snagged a Basculin (Water, Female, Lv. 13) on my way back, and I rode a strong current to find myself on an island.

I got into a battle with a Hiker, and soon I found a small house at the top of the hill. I found a few people inside, and one of them let me and my team rest. I found a Pokemon Ranger in there who wanted to give me an egg, but my party was full. I would have to remember to go back there to get the egg. There was also a shady-looking man there, talking about finding things in rocks, but I had nothing he was looking for.

I got into another battle with a Hiker, then I wandered around the island for a time and got into another few battles with both Trainers and wild Pokemon. By the end of my battling marathon, Madelyn, Nora, Arthur, and Cole all grew to Level 38, and I found HM05 (Waterfall). I was surprised that something like an HM would be found in some grass, and I was glad I had decided to explore this area.

I taught Cole to use Strength in place of Take Down, and wandered about the area to find a Dragon Scale and Max Elixir as well. I went through some powerful currents and soon found myself on another smaller island. I fought against a Scientist there, then I snagged TM24 (Thunderbolt) before I found a building on the island and went inside.

I grabbed a Dubious Disc in the building, then looked about. It appeared that I had stumbled upon a secret lab owned by Team Plasma, a place called the P2 Laboratory. There wasn't much to look at there, and I wondered what the purpose of it was as I looked at all the technology strewn about the building.

I decided at that point that I had explored enough of the ocean, so I decided to head back to civilization to heal my team and buy more healing items. There was another place for me to explore, and I would have to check it out another day.

Current Team:

Zach (Liepard, Dark, Lv. 38)
Arthur (Simisage, Grass, Lv. 38)
Madelyn (Unfezant, Normal/Flying, Lv. 38)
Nora (Seismitoad, Water/Ground, Lv. 38)
Cole (Emboar, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 38)
Mason (Zebstrika, Electric, Lv. 38)

Pokemon Black - Another battle with Cheren

I did some training, and both Cole and Nora grew to Level 35, and as I headed through Route 7 I caught an Emolga (Electric/Flying, Male, Lv. 27). I went through a side path on Route 7 and got a call on my Xtransceiver, a call from Mom. She asked how I was, and how my Pokemon were doing, and she was amazed that I had already reached Route 7.

I continued further through Route 7, and got into a battle, before I found TM81 (X-Scissor) before I continued on and got into another battle. During the battle, Arthur grew to Level 35, and soon I reached Twist Mountain. Before I could walk up the stairs to the mountain, I was stopped by Cheren.

Just as before, Cheren decided that we should see which of us was the stronger Trainer, now that we had both earned the Jet Badge. I sent out Zach against his Unfezant, and it used detect to protect against Zach's Assurance attack. Zach struck with Assurance for good damage, then dodged Air Slash, and then Zach hit it with Slash for good damage before Unfezant used Taunt.

Zach used Assurance again for good damage, then Unfezant healed up with Roost. I had Zach keep up his attacks, but he was knocked out after a couple hits by Air Slash. I sent Nora out against Unfezant, and it used Air Slash for great damage to cause Nora to flinch. Unfezant protected itself with Detect once more, then it used Taunt before Nora struck it down with Muddy Water.

I sent Arthur out against his Dewott, and Arthur used Seed Bomb for massive damage, a powerful blow that knocked it out instantly. I sent Nora out again against Cheren's Simisear, and it used Flame Burst for great damage, before Nora countered with Muddy Water for massive damage which left Simisear deep in the red. Flame Burst hit again for great damage, leaving Nora in the red, but she struck it down with Muddy Water and grew to Level 36.

Cole was sent out against Cheren's last Pokemon, Liepard, and it used Fake out to make Cole flinch. Liepard used Torment next, but Cole countered with Rock Smash for massive damage, before Liepard healed with a berry. Liepard hit Cole with Assurance next for minor damage, then Cole countered with Flame Charge for massive damage, a critical hit that knocked out Liepard and saw Cole grow to Level 36.

The battle was won, and Cole evolved into Emboar, while Nora evolved into Seismitoad! It felt good to rub THAT in Cheren's face after being pushed into another battle with him. We heard Alder nearby, entertained by the battle we just had. Alder jumped from the ledge and greeted us, and Cheren complained about losing to me again. Cheren told Alder that he was bothered by him calling it a fine battle when he lost.

Alder seemed exasperated with Cheren, telling him to just accept the compliment. Alder asked Cheren again what he planned to do after becoming strong, and Cheren responded that being Champion would be the whole reason for his existence. Cheren revealed that he wanted to prove he's really living, and I wondered just how empty his life was that this was the only way to fill it.

Alder said that Cheren reminded him of a man named Marshal, and he said that having something you want to become is important, but more importantly is what you do with newfound power.  Alder handed both of us HM03 (Surf) which could let me travel over water. Alder said he would see us later, and told us not to forget about the needs of our Pokemon.

Alder left, and Cheren pondered what he had said. Cheren didn't know the answer to what he would do with his power, but he knew enough to want to become a strong Trainer so everyone would acknowledge that power. Cheren told me that he would win next time, but I'd be even stronger next time. I just hoped that I could give Zach better training before then.

I taught Nora to use Surf, and decided I would explore some previous areas before I would continue through Twist Mountain to the new city.

Current Team:

Zach (Liepard, Dark, Lv. 35)
Arthur (Simisage, Grass, Lv. 35)
Nora (Seismitoad, Water/Ground, Lv. 36)
Cole (Emboar, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 36)
Mason (Zebstrika, Electric, Lv. 37)
Madelyn (Unfezant, Normal/Flying, Lv. 36)

Pokemon Black - The Mistralton Gym

Thanks to the training my team received by going through Route 7 and reaching the top of the Celestial Tower, I was ready to take on the challenges of the Mistralton Gym to earn my sixth Unova Badge.

My team consisted of:

Mason (Zebstrika, Electric, Lv. 35)
Madelyn (Unfezant, Normal/Flying, Lv. 35)
Norma (Palpitoad, Water/Ground, Lv. 34)
Zach (Liepard, Dark, Lv. 34)
Cole (Pignite, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 34)
Arthur (Simisage, Grass, Lv. 34)

I was told by Clyde at the entrance that to get around this unusual Pokemon Gym set inside an aircraft hangar that I would have to voluntarily launch myself from cannons throughout the hangar to reach Skyla. I wondered how many people actually took this challenge, considering the method of getting around.

I went inside the first cannon, and was shot forward, then I went to the next cannon and was shot to the left. The area was gated off, so I had to go back to the cannon I had just used to be fired to the right. From there I got into a battle, and when it was over Mason grew to Level 36, and he learned Discharged in place of Shock Wave.

I went back toward the entrance, and went into another battle with Madelyn this time at the lead. I went into the next cannon and was shot left, and I got into another battle with a Pilot, and Zach grew to Level 35 before I was able to go across on yet another cannon. I realized I could change direction on the cannon, and so went forward toward Skyla after a couple tries.

I reached another cannon, and was shot right, then got into another battle as I headed back to the cannon to go left. Madelyn grew to Level 36 after the battle, and then the cannon fired me to the left, and I got into another battle. I went back toward the entrance, then from another cannon went to the right, then onward I went forward, and finally shot left again to find myself in front of Skyla.

Skyla had been waiting for me, and asked if I had enjoyed flying with the cannons. Skyla told me that they were her pride and joy, and after that we began the battle.

I sent out Mason against Skyla's Swoobat, and his Spark hit it for massive damage, taking it out in a single blow. Unfezant was sent out next, and I kept Mason in the fight. Mason used Spark once more against Unfezant, and the attack did massive damage to knock it out. Mason grew to Level 37, and finally Swanna was sent out last.

I decided to try switching out to Madelyn, and she flew up high, then Swanna used Aqua Ring for healing before she avoided Fly, and then Madelyn was hit by Air Slash. I had Madelyn fly up high once more, and she avoided Swanna's Air Slash, before Fly landed for massive damage, and she was hit by Air Slash again for great damage. Madelyn finished the fight with Air Slash, which knocked Swanna out!

The battle was over, and I was victorious. Skyla was happy, because for the first time in a while she and her team could fight with their full strength. Skyla handed over the Jet Badge, my sixth Unova badge, which would allow me to control Pokemon up to Level 70. Skyla also handed over TM62 (Acrobatics) as thanks for the fun battle. Acrobatics would do double it's damage if the user wasn't holding an item.

Skyla told me that she spotted Team Plasma as she flew by Twist Mountain on the way to Icirrus City, heading toward the city where I would so happen to find my next Gym Badge. She asked me what kind of people they were, but I didn't have time to explain as I headed out to heal my team.

I was stopped by N as I left the Gym, and he told me that while Trainers claim battles are to better understand one another, the battles are really just used to compete, and so they hurt each other's Pokemon. N wondered if he was the only one who found this to be painful, but before I could respond he told me that he would talk to my Pokemon.

N told me he had been living with Pokemon since he was born, so he had an easier time talking with them than with people, because supposedly Pokemon never tell lies. N talked to Mason, asking him what kind of Trainer I was, and the two talked for a time, and Mason told N all about me. N told me that Mason trusts me, and said that was good, telling me that if all people and Pokemon cared about one another like we did, then he could watch over the future without having to liberate Pokemon from people who use them.

N told me that Ghetsis was using Team Plasma to search for some special stones, the Light Stone and the Dark Stone, and he told me that the stones held the essence of two legendary Pokemon. N told me that legends said they lost their physical forms, and fell into a slumber during which they transformed into stones. N told me that they now await a legendary hero, and that he would be that hero by resurrecting one of those two Legendary Dragon-Type Pokemon.

N believed that everyone would follow what he had to say, but I was doubtful, and he claimed that his vision was to change the world without using force. N was wise enough to know that trying to change the world by force would just encourage resistance, but I had no idea what he planned to do peacefully with a Legendary Pokemon. N told me that if people were to resist, then innocent Pokemon would be the ones to suffer.

I understood that Pokemon weren't just tools, and yet N would separate Pokemon from Trainers like myself who cared about them. N told me that it broke his heart a bit, but apparently he felt it had to be done. N left, and I headed to the Pokemon Center, where I had my team healed up.

I remembered a kid in a nearby house telling me he'd tell me something when I beat the Mistralton Gym, and when I showed him my Jet Badge he told me they left a treasure at the edge of the runway. I went to the runway, looked for a bit, and found TM40 (Aerial Ace). I was spotted by the kid and his sister, and they told me that they didn't have a Pokemon, but they planned to hide TM40 until they got one. They decided it would be a waste to keep hiding it, and so let me use it, and that they would get another one from Skyla.

The two kids left, and I taught Madelyn to use Aerial Ace in place of Air Slash. I would have to head through Twist Mountain to Icirrus City, and stop Team Plasma's latest plot before they could bring their plans to fruition. N may have more admirable goals for the future, but I had little doubt that Ghetsis was planning something far more sinister.

Current Team:

Mason (Zebstrika, Electric, Lv. 37)
Nora (Palpitoad, Water/Ground, Lv. 34)
Madelyn (Unfezant, Normal/Flying, Lv. 36)
Zach (Liepard, Dark, Lv. 35)
Cole (Pignite, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 34)
Arthur (Simisage, Grass, Lv. 34)

Pokemon Black - Mistralton City and the Celestial Tower

I started heading into the city, and was stopped by a man on the path. He somehow knew me, and asked to see my Pokedex. I showed him, and he was impressed that I had thus far seen 70 Pokemon. He remembered himself, and introduced himself as Cedric Juniper, Professor Juniper's father.

Professor Juniper had told Cedric a lot about me, and he was happy to meet me. Cedric upgraded my Pokedex, and I could see different forms of Pokemon on the Pokedex as well as a function to search more easily through my records. A woman came up behind him, asking who I was, and Cedric told the woman, Skyla, that I was a friend of his daughter's.

Skyla appeared to be a pilot, Cedric told her to let him know if anything else unusual. Skyla told him that her cargo plane was meant for cargo, not people, and told him that he acted like other regions were right around the corner.

Cedric left, and Skyla told me that before I could challenge her she needed to attend to something. Skyla told me that while she was landing her cargo plane, she saw something on top of the Celestial Tower, a sick Pokemon, and she wanted to help it out. Skyla told me I could come along with her to the tower on Route 7, but first I wanted to explore the city.

In one house, I found a family with grandfather who was a Move Deleter, and a girl who was a Move Reminder. I would have to come back with Heart Scales to use her services, but at least the grandfather would work free of charge, perhaps because he's forgetful. In another house was a family just going about their business, though I learned the town had many greenhouses to ship vegetables around the world.

I also found the Airport for the Mistralton Cargo Service, and from someone inside I received a Sharp Beak, which I gave to Madelyn. I hopped onto my bike and checked out the landing strip, and I found TM58 (Sky Drop) as well as all the greenhouses I was told about earlier. Around them I found a Max Ether, an Elixir, and a Repel, before I started my way through Route 7.

I talked to someone on the road and received TM57 (Charge Beam) before I looked around. There was a path on a winding hill to the left, and tall grass to the north, with an elevated walkway to get around safely. I went through the tall grass, and soon found myself in a battle. I won against the Youngster, and beat a wild Pokemon for Mason to grow to Level 33. I got into another battle, and Madelyn grew to Level 33 as well.

I went back onto the side road and fought another Trainer, then I went back to heal my team before I continued onward through Route 7. I found a house at the fork in the path, and inside the man was looking to trade an Emolga for a Boldore, but I was hoping to catch an Emolga on my own. I went onto the elevated walkway to get through some tall grass, and I got into another battle.

The Ace Trainer I fought against pulled me into a Rotation Battle, and I sent Zach, Mason, and Arthur out against his team. After a prolonged battle, I emerged victorious, and Zach grew to Level 33. I moved further north and got into more battles, and through them Cole, Nora, and Arthur all grew to Level 33, while Mason grew to Level 34.

Soon enough I came upon the Celestial Tower, and I found it to be a tall graveyard, like the old Lavender Tower had been. I was told by someone on the bottom floor that there was a bell on top of the tower, said to calm lost spirits. I went up to the second floor, where I quickly caught a Litwick (Ghost/Fire, Male, Lv. 28) before I got into a few battles.

Through the battles Madelyn, Cole, and Nora all grew to Level 34, and I found a Hyper Potion and TM61 (Will-O-Wisp) before I went up to the third floor. I got into a few more battles, where Zach and Arthur both grew to Level 34, Zach learned Slash in place of Fury Swipes, and I found a Spell Tag before I found a Nurse by the stairs who healed my Pokemon after I beat her in a battle.

I reached the third floor, and got into another couple battles with Ace Trainers. Through the battles Mason and Madelyn both grew to Level 35, and I found a Revive and TM65 (Shadow Claw), and I also caught an Elgyen (Psychic, Female, Lv. 29). Finally I found my way at the last staircase heading to the top of the Celestial Tower.

I met up with Skyla at the top of the tower, who told me that she did indeed see a hurt Pokemon, but told me it was fine thanks to her. Skyla talked about how great her eyesight was, to have seen the Pokemon from such a distance. Skyla then asked me to ring the bell, telling me that it not only soothed the restless spirits but that the character of the person ringing the bell was also reflected in it's sound.

I rang the large bell, listening to the sound reverberating through the area, and Skyla told me I was a kind and strong person, claiming that she could hear that from the sound. Skyla introduced herself properly to me after that, telling me that she was the Leader of the Mistralton Gym, and she told me that she specialized in Flying-Type Pokemon. Skyla looked forward to seeing me at the Gym, and I had Madelyn fly me back to Mistralton City.

My team gained a lot of experience from the battles, and I was sure they were ready to take on the challenge of the Mistralton Gym.

Current Team:

Cole (Pignite, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 34)
Zach (Liepard, Dark, Lv. 34)
Nora (Palpitoad, Water/Ground, Lv. 34)
Madelyn (Unfezant, Normal/Flying, Lv. 35)
Mason (Zebstrika, Electirc, Lv. 35)
Arthur (Simisage, Grass, Lv. 34)

Pokemon Black - Through Chargestone Cave to Mistralton City

I entered the Chargestone Cave, and suddenly two people appeared beside me. They ordered me to follow them, and I was led to N, who was staring at some large blue crystal. The two disappeared, and N told me they were the Shadow Triad, enlisted by Ghetsis to help Team Plasma. N told me they set up the Galvantula nest at the entrance that Clay had cleared out.

N told me he liked that cave, talking about math and the connection between electricity and Pokemon. N claimed that this would be an ideal place, if people didn't exist. I told him I was surprised by his thoughts on the matter, wondering what he could mean about this being an ideal place. N told me he had told Ghetsis about my friends and I. Because of this, the Shadow Triad was sent to find out about me.

According to N, Cheren was pursuing the ideal of strength, Bianca had faced the truth that not everyone can become stronger, and he believed that I was not swayed either way, that I was a neutral presence. N said that this was a good thing, and that Team Plasma would be waiting for me ahead. N told me that Ghetsis wanted to see what kind of Trainer I really was, and after N left I was alone.

I started through the path, finding myself surrounded by electrified blue crystals both in the ground and FLOATING around. I was stopped by a voice, and I found out that it was Bianca calling to me. Bianca told me that the floating stones move when touched, and then Professor Juniper came up from the entrance. Juniper looked around, telling me that the place was charged with lots of electricity. Apparently the electric charges react between the stones, and so that's why some were floating.

Juniper told me that she was there for her father, to research a Pokemon named Klink. Juniper told me that Klink looked like a gear, and that she was researching the origins of Pokemon and the era that they appeared. Juniper said her father could be somewhat manipulative, but she was interested in this study anyway. Juniper also handed over a Lucky Egg, which would allow me to increase experience gained from battling.

I started forward, and caught a tiny little Joltik (Bug/Electric, Female, Lv. 24), then I moved a stone to continue forward. I found another stone to move, and realized that I needed to push it toward one of the large stones for the charge to pull it away. I found myself battling a Klink (Steel, Lv. 27) and caught it after a short battle, then I found a Parlyz Heal and a Heal Ball before I found a new Pokemon, Ferroseed (Grass/Steel, Male, Lv. 24) which I caught as well.

I got into another couple battles, and Zach was knocked out. I decided to head back to town to heal my team, and while there I grabbed supplies before I returned to the cave. During some wild Pokemon battles on the way to the cave, Zach grew to Level 30, and Mason grew to Level 31 and learned Stomp in place of Charge. I also found a Leaf Stone as I continued on the path, and missed the chance to grab a Level 20 Foongus.

I snagged a Revive in the cave, then moved a couple crystals out of my way before I was stopped by Professor Juniper again. She asked if I had found anything, then told me she and Bianca were done collecting data. Juniper told me that the cave had existed for a long time, but there was no data found to prove that Klink existed more than a century before. Bianca wondered why Pokemon, such amazing little things, stay by our sides.

I got into another battle, then as I continued on I was stopped by the Shadow Triad once more. They ordered me to follow them, and I crossed a bridge, before they told me that Team Plasma was waiting for me down some stairs ahead. The Shadow Triad disappeared again, and I grabbed a nearby Hyper Potion before I moved onward, and after another battle Cole grew to Level 31.

I got a couple Nuggets from the Nugget brothers, then I snagged a Timer Ball before I moved around and found a Doctor who wanted to battle. I beat the Doctor, and Madelyn grew to Level 31, then he healed my Pokemon before I headed north to start battling Plasma Grunts. When I got through the Plasma Grunts, Zach grew to Level 31 and learned Assurance in place of Pursuit, and Mason and Madelyn both grew to Level 32, and I taught Madelyn Air Slash in place of Quick Attack, and then she evolved into Unfezant. I also found a Thunder Stone in the cave.

There were two paths, some stairs going down, and stairs going up. I decided to go down the steps and further below, and got into a battle. I wandered around, got into another battle, and Cole and Arthur both grew to Level 32. I snagged a Hyper Potion, a Rare Candy, and a Bright Powder, and then I caught a Tynamo (Electric, Male, Lv. 27) before I headed back up.

I went up the stairs to the next level of the cave, and I got into a couple battles, and Nora grew to Level 32. I grabbed a Magnet, and then encountered N once more. He told me that the world is gray with mixed values, and thought that was unforgivable. N told me that the world would be clearly black and white once he could separate Pokemon and people, and once that happened Pokemon would be perfect beings.

I battled with N, and I sent out Zach against his Boldore. I had to switch out to Arthur, and Boldore used Iron Defense to increase it's defense. Arthur hit it with Seed Bomb for massive damage, and it used Iron Defense again, but another Seed Bomb pushed it to the red before Arthur took minor damage, and the two traded blows before Boldore was knocked out.

Zach grew to Level 32, and then I sent out Nora against his Joltik. Nora hit Joltik with Mud Shot for great damage, then it countered with Gastro Acid to suppress Nora's ability. Nora hit Joltik with Muddy Water next, and it was a massive hit that knocked it out.

Ferroseed was sent out next, and I sent out Cole against it. Cole used Flame Charge for massive damage, a single blow that knocked Ferrroseed out. Klink was the last Pokemon, and Cole used Flame Charge for massive damage and knocked out Klink to win the battle.

N was frustrated at his loss against me, and wondered if it was impossible for him to win while feeling bad about being a Trainer himself. He wished he could pursue his ideals without meaningless battle, and thought that battling wouldn't make him worthy to become friends with a Legendary Pokemon.

Bianca and Juniper came up from behind, and N seemed especially angry at Juniper for being a Pokemon Researcher. He was upset about her attitude on the relationship between people and Pokemon, and how she put Pokemon into categories as thought it would allow her to understand them. N told us that the very idea of a Pokedex revolted him, and asked what Juniper had to say for herself.

Juniper was quite empathetic with N, telling him that his opinion was understandable, and that his opinion was different from hers. Juniper asked N to let people decide for themselves hot to relate to Pokemon, and N refused to tolerate the existence of a world like ours where people could decide to make Pokemon suffer.

N left, and Juniper didn't expect him to change his mind immediately, but she hoped that he would spend time trying to understand the feelings of others. Juniper decided to collect more data, under the belief that learning more about Pokemon would allow people to get along better with them.

Bianca left with Juniper to protect her, and I continued on to finally reach Mistralton City. I went to the Pokemon Center to heal my team, and soon I would explore the city and get my next Badge.

Current Team:

Mason (Zebstrika, Electric, Lv. 32)
Madelyn (Unfezant, Normal/Flying, Lv. 32)
Arthur (Simisage, Grass, Lv. 32)
Cole (Pignite, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 32)
Zach (Liepard, Dark, Lv. 32)
Nora (Palpitoad, Water/Ground, Lv. 32)

Pokemon Black - Heading to Chargestone Cave

I started west toward Route 6, and I was stopped by Bianca before I could reach the road. Bianca was amazed that I had already beat the Driftveil Gym, but then told herself she couldn't get distracted. Bianca wanted to battle with me, and it seemed I had little choice in the matter.

Bianca sent out Herdier, while I sent out Nora against it. Herdier's Intimidate cut Nora's attack, but it wouldn't help against Muddy Water, which did great damage, and Nora avoided a counterattack. Another Muddy Water knocked out Herdier, and Nora grew to Level 30.

Servine was sent out next, and I sent Cole out against it. Cole avoided Servine's Slam, and struck back with Flame Charge to knock it out in a single blow. Panpour was sent out next, and I had Mason go out to fight it. Mason used Spark, and it did massive damage to take Panpour down.

Musharna was sent out last, and I sent Zach out against it. Zach hit it with Pursuit for great damage, then Musharna used Defense Curl to increase it's defense. Zach struck with Pursuit again for good damage, then Musharna hit Zach with Hypnosis to put him to sleep. I switched out to Madelyn, and Musharna used Lucky Chant to protect against critical hits, but Madeln struck with Air Cutter for good damage before she too was put to sleep with Hypnosis.

Bianca used a Hyper Potion to heal Musharna, and Madelyn remained asleep. Musharna hit Madelyn with Psybeam for great damage, then Madelyn woke up to use Air Cutter for good damage before she was hit with Psybeam for great damage, barely clinging on. I decided to switch back to Zach, and he remained asleep but immune to Psychic-Type attacks, and Musharna could only increase it's defense.

Zach woke up and attacked with Pursuit, then he used Torment to stop it from constantly using Defense Curl. I had Zach use Hone Claws to increase his attack and accuracy, then he kept up attacking with Pursuit until Binaca used ANOTHER Hyper Potion to heal it once more. This battle was taking far too long between the high defense of Musharna with Defense Curl combined with Bianca healing it twice now.

Finally after a long battle, Musharna was defeated by Zach and the battle was won. Bianca admired my strength, and thought I was tuned into the feelings of my Pokemon. Bianca was kind enough to give me HM02 (Fly) which I could teach to Madelyn to move around easily. Bianca told me her father gave it to her after he tried taking her home, though she figured it was just so she could come home anytime he wants.

Bianca left after she remembered something else she had to give to Cheren, and I went back to the Pokemon Center to heal my team before I continued onto Route 6.  I got through some tall grass, and caught Deerling (Normal/Grass, Male, Lv. 22), Karrablast (Bug, Female, Lv. 22), and a Foongus (Grass/Poison, Female, Lv. 25) before I got into a battle with a Scientist.

After the short battle, I taught Madelyn Fly in place of Air Cutter. I moved on and found myself in a battle with a Pokemon Ranger, and after the battle I received a Cherri Berry for my efforts. I got into another battle on a bridge, and through the battle Madelyn grew to Level 30. I continued on and got into yet another battle, this time with another Scientist.

After the battle I found the Season Research Lab, which seemed like a very odd thing to study. I talked to the scientists inside, who told me that they research changes in nature that occur due to the seasons, and another told me that some Pokemon actually change their appearance with the seasons. I was told that specifically the Pokemon Deerling was a prime example of this.

They wanted me to show them Deerling from different seasons, but as I was already a good way through the route I didn't want to double-back to the Pokemon Center, and go between just to get my team put back together. I continued west and got into another battle with another Scientist, and then I got into a battle with a Parasol Lady.

Mason grew to Level 30, and I switched Zach to the head of the team before I continued onward to battle with a Pokemon Ranger. Nora grew to Level 31, and got a Cheri Berry from him before I started north. I found a house, where I received a Shiny Stone from a girl in there, and the girl's mother let us rest there.

Finally I reached Chargestone Cave, and saw the entrance was blocked by a yellow web. Clay came up behind, telling me it was caused by Pokemon called Galvantula, and he took it upon himself to clear the path. Clay handed over TM78 (Bulldoze), and told me that while he didn't know how strong I was, if I felt confident and believed in myself then I should just keep doing what I think I should.

Clay left, and I stared at the entrance to Chargestone Cave. I decided it would be better to continue through later, as I had quite a journey already just to get there. Soon enough I would find myself in the next city, finding new challenges to face.

Pokemon Black - The Driftveil Gym

I got my team all to Level 29 through training, and I was ready to take on the Driftveil Gym. When I got there, I found Cheren watching the Gym Leader, Clay, holding onto Zinzolin and a couple Plasma Grunts as Ghetsis and a small army of Plasma Grunts confronting him.

Ghetsis introduced himself to Clay, telling the Gym Leader that he came to pick up his associates that Clay was holding. Clay told him that they were trying to steal Pokemon from Trainers, and Ghetsis claimed they only freed Pokemon from wicked people. Clay called him out on his bullshit, but then Ghetsis told him that Team Plasma had an interest in Driftveil City, and that they had many more members than the small army already there.

Clay wasn't sure if Ghetsis was lying about that, so he decided to hand the Plasma Grunts and the Sage over without a fight. Ghetsis complimented Clay on his decision, who took Zinzolin and the Plasma Grunts with him. I felt frustrated that Clay, a Gym Leader, just let them go after all that, especially with Cheren and myself there ready to battle them all.

Clay apologized for letting them go after we tracked them down, then suggested that we cheer ourselves up with a Pokemon battle. Clay went inside, and Cheren was glad to have avoided a fight in the middle of the city. Cheren believed that Ghetsis wasn't just an ordinary person, and I had to agree. I thought that perhaps Ghetsis was just using Team Plasma for his own ends, and I wondered if I would have to help N to take Team Plasma back from Ghestis and the other Sages.

My team consisted of:

Arthur (Simisage, Grass, Lv. 29)
Cole (Pignite, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 29)
Nora (Palpitoad, Water/Ground, Lv. 29)
Madelyn (Tranquill, Normal/Flying, Lv. 29)
Mason (Zebstrika, Electric, Lv. 29)
Zach (Liepard, Dark, Lv. 29)

Cheren left to do training, but I was ready to battle. I found out that the Driftveil Gym used elevators to get around, and that Clay was a Ground-Type Gym Leader. I went down on the first elevator, and then got into my first battle. After the battle, I went down one elevator, then moved about and went up another to get into another battle. Cole grew to Level 30 during the battle, and I moved around on some walkways to get into another battle.

Arthur grew to Level 30, and I went down an elevator before I found myself across two different elevators. I took the one on the right up, and got into another battle. Madelyn was knocked out in a battle, but I had a Revive ready to get her back up to fighting strength. I found that the elevator was a dead-end, so I went down it, and went up the other, and moved along a walkway to get into another battle.

I went far, far, far down below into the mine on the last elevator, through giant steel doors and down to a mining operation down below. I saw crystals being sent up, and I found Clay standing in front of a giant crystal.

Clay was interested in seeing my skills, wondering what it could be that made a Gym Leader like Elesa take a shine to me. I was happy to show him by beating his team harder than he thought possible.

I sent out Nora against his Krokorok, and she started by missing with Muddy Water before it used Swagger to raise Nora's attack and leave her confused. Nora was confused, and hurt herself in her confusion, then she got hit by Bulldoze for great damage. Krokorok used Torment next, then it avoided another Muddy Water attack. Next up Nora was hit by Crunch, a critical hit that knocked her out after she did absolutely nothing.

I sent Arthur out next, and he hit Krokorok with Seed Bomb for massive damage, and it was knocked out instantly. I sent Cole out against Excadrill, and it used Hone Claws to increase it's attack and accuracy, then Cole hit it with Rock Smash for great damage. Excadrill used Bulldoze to knock Cole out, and then I had to switch to Arthur again. Arthur used Seed Bomb for massive damage, and Excadrill was knocked out!

Arthur grew to Level 31, and Paplitoad was sent out last. Arthur was extremely powerful against a Water/Ground-Type Pokemon like Palpitoad, and so his Seed Bomb was an instant KO. I had won the battle, and thus my fifth Gym Badge!

Clay wasn't happy with his loss, but complimented me on my "imposing" battle style. Clay knew there were people I had who could dig up my potential, and then he handed over the Quake Badge. With the Quake Badge, Pokemon up to Level 60 would obey me. Clay was going to hand me a TM, but remembered something he needed. He asked me to wait in front of a cave on Route 6, and it didn't seem I had much choice.

I left the mine to reach the Pokemon Center and heal my team. I found myself disappointed in Nora's performance, how she couldn't land a SINGLE hit to win what should have been an easy battle, especially with a powerful move like Muddy Water. I was also frustrated about what little damage Cole managed against the Excadrill when he used Fighting-Type moves against the Ground/Steel Pokemon.

Current Team:

Nora (Palpitoad, Water/Ground, Lv. 29)
Madelyn (Tanquill, Normal/Flying, Lv. 29)
Arthur (Simisage, Grass, Lv. 31)
Cole (Pignite, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 30)
Zach (Liepard, Dark, Lv. 29)
Mason (Zebstrika, Electric, Lv. 29)

Pokemon Black - Driftveil City

When I left the Pokemon Center in Driftveil City, it was raining. I found it odd, but figured it was just a new part of the game. I started to explore the city, which was called a "City of Billowing Sails" on the sign. I talked to a few people, including one kid who talked about the Pokemon of lightning, and the Pokemon of wind, and I wondered if this rain was caused by one of these two.

I found the Driftveil Market, where goods such as Moomoo-Milk could be bought, and some bitter natural remedies that would upset my Pokemon. I talked to other people around town, and received a Shell Bell from an old man. I found an odd wooden building on a hill next to the Driftveil Gym, with lots of people, but I'm not sure what it was for.

I found myself talking to a Biker named Charles, who showed me a new type of battle called a Rotation Battle. In a Rotation Battle, you send out three Pokemon at a time to battle, but you have one Pokemon in the lead position, the other two at the sides, and each turn you could change their positions to attack.

Charles and I battled, and he sent out Krokorok, Basculin, and Zebstrika, while I sent out Nora, Arthur, and Cole. I had Nora use Bubblebeam on Zebstrika for great damage when it was rotated around, and it used Flame Charge in return. I had Nora use Bubble Beam again and it barely clung on to strike back with Flame Charge again. Krokorok was rotated in next, and Bubble Beam knocked it out.

Basculin was rotated around next, and we both rotated around, and Zebstrika hit Arthur with Flame Charge for good damage before he used Seed Bomb to knock it out. Cole grew to Level 28, and he learned Take Down in place of Smog. Nora also grew to Level 28, and she learned Muddy Water in place of Bubble Beam. Basculin was the last one, and Arthur used Seed Bomb for massive damage to knock it out and win the battle.

It was certainly an interesting battle, and a good way to train my team. Charles told me that if I was interested in having more Rotation Battles then I should go to Opelucid City. I went back to the Pokemon Center to heal my team, then I went south to check the Cold Storage for Team Plasma. While I wandered around, I found a PP Up and a Rocky Helmet.

I found a lot of Trainers in the Cold Storage, battling and catching Pokemon that hung around there. I got into a couple battles, and Arthur grew to Level 28, then before I could get into one of the buildings I was stopped by Cheren. He thought that maybe Team Plasma was in there, and knew we had to check even if he didn't like cold places.

I went inside with Cheren, and he pondered what Alder had said about the purpose of Trainers. Cheren decided he wouldn't understand just by thinking about it, and I left him to ponder while I looked for Team Plasma. There was ice to slide on in the Cold Storage building, and I slid around a bit before getting into a battle. After the battle, Mason grew to Level 28, and I continued on.

I slid around, went up some stairs, and got into another battle. After the battle, I slid around on some ice blocks, and got onto some containers. I went up some stairs to get higher up on more containers, and got into another battle. I went down some stairs after the battle, and found an Ice Heal before I got into another battle against another Worker.

After the battle I slid across more ice, and found myself in yet another battle. Zach grew to Level 28, and I continued on after I grabbed a nearby Hyper Potion. I found an open container, and I assumed someone must be in there. Inside we found a bunch of Team Plasma Grunts surrounding one of their Seven Sages. Cheren told them that if he was cold, that we could show them the way out.

Zinzolin, the Sage in the middle of their group, told them they needed to defend the Pokemon they caught, and to drive us away. Cheren and I fought through the Plasma Grunts, and through the battles Madelyn and Cole both grew to Level 29, and after I had defeated several of them Clay came up from behind with some Workers to help us out.

Clay was surprised to find them hiding out in the Cold Storage, and he ordered the Workers to grab those Plasma Grunts. Cheren and I moved aside while the Workers dragged away the Grunts, and Zinzolin as well. Clay was pleased with us, and told us he would hold up his promise to allow us to challenge him. Clay left, and Cheren told me how Team Plasma's idea of separating people and Pokemon was like not having Pokemon in the world at all. He wasn't wrong, and it wasn't a world I wanted.

Cheren left, and I followed after him after I snagged a Never Melt Ice from the storage container. I did a bit of training, and got Nora to Level 28, and I also caught a Vanillite (Ice, Male, Lv. 21) before I went back to the Pokemon Center.

I decided that I would call it a day, and work to train my team to Level 29 before I would take on the challenge of the Driftveil Gym. Soon I will have my 5th Badge, and I will continue on to become Champion of the Unova region. Clay, you better be ready!

Current Team:

Arthur (Simisage, Grass, Lv. 28)
Cole (Pignite, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 29)
Nora (Palpitoad, Water/Ground, Lv. 29)
Madelyn (Tranquill, Normal/Flying, Lv. 29)
Mason (Zebstrika, Electric, Lv. 28)
Zach (Liepard, Dark, Lv. 28)

Pokemon Black - Heading to Driftveil City

I did training in Nimbasa City, and through it Madelyn, Mason, and Zach all grew to Level 26, Nora grew to Level 27, and Zach learned Hone Claws in place of Sand-Attack while Mason learned Spark in place of Quick Attack.

As I trained in Nimbasa City, the weather changed, and it was now Spring. After I was finished training, I went west to Route 5, and was stopped by Cheren. My friend once again wanted to see which of us was stronger, and so I was pulled into another battle with him.

I sent out Madelyn against Cheren's Liepard, and Liepard started with Fake Out to make Madelyn flinch. It attacked again with Pursuit for good damage, then Madelyn countered with Air Cutter for good damage. Madelyn attacked next with Quick Attack for massive damage, and then it used Torment. Pursuit struck again for good damage, then Madelyn knocked out Liepard with one more Air Cutter, and she grew to Level 27.

Next, Cheren sent out Dewott while I sent Mason out against it. Mason hit it with Spark for massive damage, and Dewott used a Sitrus Berry to heal before it struck back with Razor Shell for great damage. Mason hit Dewott with Spark again, and it barely clung on to counter with Razor Shell to knock Mason out. Arthur was sent out to knock it out with Seed Bomb, and he grew to Level 27.

I sent Nora out against Pansear, and she used Bubble Beam to knock it out in a single blow. Tranquill was sent out last, and I decided to have Zach try hsi luck against it. Zach used Pursuit for massive damage, then Tranquill countered with Air Cutter for good damage. Zach used another Pursuit, and Tranquill barely clung on to use Roost to heal up. Zach kept up the attacks, but Tranquill kept using Roost to heal up. Finally I had Zach use Hone Claws to up his attack, then Torment to stop the use of Roost, but soon Zach was knocked out.

I sent Cole out against Tranquill, and it used Detect to protect itself, but soon Cole was able to take it out with Flame Charge. Finally Cole was beaten, and two of my Pokemon were knocked out and in need of healing.

Cheren wondered why he couldn't beat me, then Elesa came up from the road, thinking it was nice that we were helping one-another get better by competing, but really it was just Cheren being a pain in my ass. We followed Elise down the road, until she was stopped by a man with fiery hair. He appeared to be enjoying the festival going on there at Route 5, and Cheren wondered who he was.

Elesa told us that the man was Alder, the Champion of the Unova region. Cheren wondered why the Champion would be goofing off there, and Alder told Chren that he was quite a judgemental young man. Alder introduced himself formally to Chren, and told him that he wasn't goofing off, but on a voyage. Alder told us he knew every corner of Unova, and thought Chren's desire to travel with the goal of being Champion was commendable.

Alder asked Cheren what he planned to do after becoming Champion, to which Cheren wondered what else there could be aside from striving to become stronger. Alder pondered this, and wondered if it was enough of a goal by itself, though he clarified that he wasn't trying to say that Cheren's way of thinking was wrong. Alder told us that through his travels, he'd helped many people to learn to love Pokemon, and he thought that was important too.

Alder requested that we have a battle with a couple children nearby, and Chren was kind enough to heal my Pokemon after the injuries he put them through. So we started a Double Battle with a pair of Preschoolers. I sent out Madelyn, and Cheren sent out Liepard, against the Preschoolers' Herdiers. Their Intimidate abilities cut the attack of both Pokemon on our team.

Liepard used Pursuit for good damage, then Madelyn hit both with Air Cutter for good damage, before Liepard took massive damage and was knocked out by both Herdier. Chren sent out Dewott next, and Madelyn used Air Cutter once more against both Herdier, and they used Sitrus Berries to heal up, but the one was knocked out by Dewott's Razor Shell, and the other missed it's attack.

Madelyn used Quick Attack next, and Herdier was struck with Razor Shell to be knocked out. The battle was over, and Alder told the pair of Preschoolers that they had a good battle. Alder said that their Pokemon looked like they were having fun, then Alder told Chren that for every person like him who pursues strength, there are others who are happy just being with Pokemon. Alder said that there were many different answers out there as to what a Champion should be, and hoped that Cheren would give it some thought.

I went to heal my Pokemon in Nimbasa City, while the Cheren and Elesa went ahead, then I battled with Trainers along the road.Through the battles, Madelyn grew to Level 28, Zach and Mason both grew to Level 27, and Mason evolved into Zebstrika.

I caught up with Elesa and Cheren, and she contacted someone to lower the Driftveil Bridge. Cheren and I watched as this massive red drawbridge lowered to allow us through. Elesa left after that, but not before she warned us that the Gym Leader of the next town may take some getting used to. Cheren told me that he was a Trainer, telling me he proves that he's right by getting stronger and winning battles, even against the Champion.

Cheren left, and I followed behind. I went onto the bridge, and found myself in a battle with a wild Ducklett (Water/Flying, Male, Lv. 22) and caught it, then I continued across the bridge. I snagged a couple Clever Wings on the bridge, and soon I reached Driftveil City.

I found Cheren talking to the Gym Leader of Driftveil Gym, Clay, and he told us not to expect a welcome. Clay told us the reason we shouldn't feel welcomed was because the Team Plasma Grunts they caught had escaped when the drawbridge was lowered. Cheren wasn't impressed, telling him that we were grateful for the bridge being lowered (WHY we would need to ask someone to lower the bridge to a major city is beyond me) but he wondered how it was our fault that they escaped.

Clay told us we could say whatever, but at the end of the day we showed up, and then Team Plasma escaped. Clay demanded that we start looking for Team Plasma too. Clay told us that if we found Team Plasma, he would let us challenge the Gym. Cheren thought that was fair, when Clay left, but I just found myself irritated that some asshole not only has power to let people in and out of a city but also demands that we find some criminals for him when it was the fault of his apparently pathetic police force.

At least Cheren and I could both get stronger as we fight Team Plasma and anyone else we meet, as he pointed out himself. I just wished that the job wasn't pushed on us for the right to challenge the Driftveil Gym Leader, even if Cheren and I WOULD look for Team Plasma anyway.
