Pokemon SoulSilver - The Seafoam Gym

I went east on Route 20, heading to the Seafoam Islands. I fought several Trainers, both Swimmers and regular Trainers on dunes. By the time I got to the Seafoam Gym, Edward had grown to Level 60.

I went into the cave on the Seafoam Islands, and then found two paths, the left going down into an icy cave, with the other being a ladder going up. I took the ladder, and found myself in a cave with many rocks in a flame-shaped pattern, with several Trainers waiting to fight. I knew that the Gym Leader, Blaine, was somewhere in there ready to fight.

The Trainers were Scientists and Super Nerds, and I could see I needed to work my way through the rocks and Trainers to reach Blaine. The first Scientist went down easily enough with Blake against his Arcanine, then he moved back to allow me through.

I fought the second Trainer, a Super Nerd, and he sent out a Torkoal who was knocked out by Blake, then he moved aside and I kept moving up. The next Trainer was a Scientist who sent out Magmar, and Blake took it out to clear a path. Blake received a burn from the battle, and I used a Burn Heal before I moved on.

The next Trainer after that was a Super Nerd who sent out a Numel, and it was knocked out by Waterfall before I continued moving through the cave. I fought another Super Nerd and beat him, then he moved aside to let me fight Blaine.

I went to the center of the cave and met up with Blaine. He told me about how his Gym on Cinnabar Island was burned down by the eruption, but that he wouldn't give up. Blaine found this cave and turned it into a Gym, and now I was his latest challenger.

Blaine sent out Magcargo and I sent out Blake. Blake managed the first shot with Quick Claw, and his Surf attack landed to knock out Magcargo instantly. Blake grew to Level 60, then Magmar was sent out. Blake used Surf on Magmar and it went down as quick as the previous opponent.

Rapidash was the last Pokemon Blake sent out, and I kept Blake in the fight. Rapidash sprang up, and avoided Blake's Surf, then it used Bounce to do good damage against Blake before he countered with Surf for massive damage, and just like the previous two Pokemon it went down in a single blow!

Blake grew to Level 60, and the battle was won. Blaine handed over the Volcano Badge, and he gave me TM50 (Overheat) as well. Blaine wanted a rematch, whenever he rebuilt the Cinnabar Gym. I left the Gym and went back out onto Route 20, then flew to Cinnabar Island to heal my team.

I talked to Blue, and showed him my 7th Gym Badge, and he told me to meet him at the Viridian Gym when I was ready. Before that though, I want to check out the icy caverns in the Seafoam Islands...
