Pokemon Pearl - Oreburgh Gym

After doing some training, growing my Pokemon up, especially Alexander, I found Roark, the Gym Leader, in the mines, and found a couple items while I was there. He went back to the Gym, and I healed up my Pokemon before going in.

My team consisted of:

Annabelle (Turtwig, Grass, Lv. 13)
Marcus (Starly, Normal/Flying, Lv. 12)
Kricketot (Bug, Lv.9)
Maximus (Shinx, Electric, Lv. 11)
Abra (Psychic, Lv. 5)
Alexander (Machop, Fighting, Lv. 12)

 Roark sent out Geodude first, and I responded with Annabelle. I had her use her new attack, Razor Leaf, and the Quick Claw she was holding pushed her to attack first. Just one single attack knocked it out, and Annabelle grew to Level 14.

Next up Roark sent out Onyx, and I sent out Alexander to fight it. Knowing how big and heavy Onyx is, I decided to attack with Low Kick (which does more damage the heavier the opponent is) and brought it down to the red. Roark used a potion to heal Onyx, and I had Alexander Karate Chop it back down to red. Onyx used Screech, and then Alexander used Rock Smash to knock it out and grew to Level 13.

Finally Roark sent out Cranidos, an ancient Dinosaur Pokemon, and I sent Annabelle out against it. Cranidos used Pursuit for some good damage, then Annabelle used Razor Leaf for massive damage. Cranidos followed up with Leer, and then got hit with Absorb for the knock out and the Coal Badge.

It's funny, Roark was a bit of an asshole at the end, saying he couldn't believe he lost to a Trainer who didn't have one badge; HE'S the guy you go to for your first fucking badge! I just took the $900 he gave me and left. Gonna have to head back to Jubilife City to get the Poketch App from the CEO.
