My team consisted of:
Blaziken, named Crimson (Fire/Fighting, Lv. 51)
Absol, named Shade (Dark, Lv. 51)
Hariyama, named Ryu (Fighting, Lv. 51)
Gardevoir, named Abel (Psychic, Lv. 51)
Magneton, named Bolt (Steel/Electric, Lv. 51)
Pelipper, named Aeris (Water/Flying, Lv. 51)
So, first up was Sidney, the Dark-type specialist. I started out with Shade, to take the attack decrease caused by the Mightyena's Intimidate. I then switched out to Ryu and used Vital Throw to take it down. After that, he threw out Shiftry, to which I responded with Crimson, and one good Blaze Kick took it out. Next up was Absol, which I switched out for Ryu again, and another Vital Throw took it down. Then there was Cacturne, which was met and brought down by Crimson with a powerful Blaze Kick. Finally he pulled out Sharpedo, which I had Bolt take on and bring down with a Thunderbolt.

Moving up to Phoebe, the Ghost-type specialist, Shade was my best bet against her. She pulled out Dusclops, and I had Shade give a couple Bites to do heavy damage. She had Dusclops use Curse to do status damage to Shade, but by doing so knocked it out in the process. Shade managed to knock out her first Banette with Bite, and I had to heal him up to continue through the second Banette. I went ahead and switched out for Aeris when Sableye was brought out, knowing that it has no weaknesses, and her Water Pulse and Ice Beam did the trick. With the last Dusclops, I went ahead and brought out Shade again, a couple Bites did damage, but he was knocked out, and I pulled out Crimson to finish it off with a Blaze Kick.

After reviving and healing my team, I moved on to number three, Glacia the Ice-type specialist. Crimson brought down Glalie with a good Blaze Kick, then when Sealeo was brought out I switched to Bolt, and it's Thunderbolt attack took out both Sealeos with ease. Then Walrein was brought out and I kept up with Bolt, striking down Walrein in just a couple attacks. When another Glalie was brought out I pulled Crimson out again to finish it off with Blaze Kick.

The fourth of the Elite Four, Dragon-type specialist Drake, was a bit of a challenge. I had Abel come out first, thinking that his high special defense would prove useful against the powerful Dragon-type attacks. Shelgon was brought out, and Abel's Psychic attack did quite a bit of damage, but Drake used a Full Restore to get it back up to full health. I used Psychic again, then Confusion, and brought it down. Next was Altaria, and while Abel had received some damage he was good to fight it with Psychic and Confusion. I pulled out Aeris to fight against both his Flygons, using Wing Attack and Water Pulse to capitalize on Ground's weakness to Flying and Water attacks. Finally Drake brought out Salamence, and I brought out Bolt to go and strike it down with Thunderbolt.

With the Elite Four defeated, I had to fight against Steven, the Champion, and frankly I don't understand why I had to fight him at all if I had the Elite Four beaten already.
Steven turned out to be the most difficult because he had several Pokemon I didn't know how to counter. I brought out Bolt to fight against his Skarmory, and brought it down fairly easily. Next he brought out Aggron, and I sent out Ryu to take it on with Vital Throw and Rock Smash. After I brought it down he sent out Metagross, which I had some difficulty fighting because I wasn't quite sure what it was weak against. I finally got it down by using Shade to fight it with Bite, and after that things got really difficult.
Steven went ahead and brought out Claydol, and I couldn't figure out how to counter it. I had a couple Pokemon come out to fight it and get put down, before I had Abel come out and use Hypnosis on it to put it to sleep. While it was asleep, I managed to revive and heal a few of my Pokemon, and then brought out Aeris to finally strike it down with Ice Beam.
Steven sent out Armaldo to fight, and I had to use Aeris with Water Pulse to bring it down. Finally it came down to his Cradily, and I brought out Ryu to fight it. Vital throw brought it down to low health, but then it went and confused Ryu and bought itself an extra turn when he hurt himself. It got another hit on Ryu, but then Ryu snapped out of confusion and gave the final blow, knocking out Cradily and defeating Steven to make me the newest Champion of Hoenn Region.
Now that I'm finally done with the Elite Four, I can focus now on getting the Legendary Pokemon of Hoenn. Tomorrow the fun really begins, first the Legendary Pokemon and then onward to Pokemon Pearl!
