Naming my Pokemon

So, I plan on naming each Pokemon in my team, for one thing because they deserve proper names, but also because while in the anime and games they may call the Pokemon by their species, it's just damned weird to call a Scottish Terrier "Scottish Terrier."

Granted, I'm not going to be naming EVERY SINGLE Pokemon I capture, at least not for a while, but my main group should be named. In Sapphire, I've got a team of 6 regulars, and 2 extras that I use for certain occasions, one unfortunately being an HM Slave. So that's 8 different names I need to come up with just in this game, and at least 6 in each subsequent game I get through.

I admit I don't want to come up with names like "Billy" or "Janet" or normal shit like that, probably a little cliche' to say that I want the names to line up with their elements if I can. Problem is I'm having a hard time thinking of good names with such a requirement. I suppose I could just try normal English names, but for some reason it just doesn't sound quite right to name a Pokemon like that.

Don't wanna be too simple with them, an example being I have a male Blaziken I kinda want to name "Blaze" but then obviously that's part of it's species name, so it seems too simplistic. Perhaps "Red" would suffice.

So, gonna have to work on names for my regulars, try and find some name generators or a thesaurus to find words for different types of weather or elements.

Addendum: After much thought, I have named my main team of six.

Blaziken is now Crimson.
Graveler (having been previously named) is Brick.
Roselia is now Spike.
Gardevoir is now Abel.
Hariyama is now Ryu.
Pelipper is now Aeris.

A bunch of good names, I think. Just gotta figure out a name for my Gyarados and my Magenton.
