Becoming a Pokemon Master

What IS it to be a Pokemon Master? What exactly is required to earn such a title?

The games and show never actually explain what a Pokemon Master is, or how to become one. I suppose it's kinda funny that I should ponder this question after starting this blog, claiming this is my journey to becoming one such trainer. Does it involve beating lots of Pokemon Leagues? Does it involve catching lots of different Pokemon? Does it involve becoming unbeatable in Pokemon battles and tournaments? Does it involve winning every level of Pokemon Contests?

Ash Ketchum has been at this for a LONG time, through several Leagues and dealing with MANY Legendary Pokemon. He's won many battles, caught his fair share of Pokemon, and has gone through every Pokemon Leagues as a challenger, win or lose. However, even after all this he's STILL considered just a Pokemon Trainer.

I'm not sure if at the end of this I'd be considered a Pokemon Master, but when I come out of this with every Pokemon I can catch, every single Legendary available, and the Champion of several Pokemon Leagues, I think I'll be pretty damn close to it. I don't know how many hundreds of different Pokemon I'll have in my collection by the time I port them all over to Y, but I'm sure I'll have one of the largest collections around.

I'm continuing my journey through Sapphire, working hard to get through the League and to start grabbing those Legendaries.
