I flew back home after I caught Lugia on the Whirl Islands, and I knew it was time to head east to the Pokemon League. I surfed a bit to the east, and when I touched upon land again, a man came up and told me that I had taken my first step into Kanto. I checked my Pokegear to see if he was right, and it did confirm that I was crossing into Kanto. It also showed new paths I hadn't seen previously, including Victory Road, the Indigo Plateu, and a path to Mt. Silver as well.
I went inside Tohjo Falls and found myself in a cave with large waterfalls pouring into the underground ponds below. I realized that these would stop all but the strongest Trainers from advancing further, even if I had found myself here when I got Surf.
I noticed a path behind the falls, and I found some natural steps up to the rocky platform where I found a Moon Stone. I noticed a cave hidden behind the left falls, and I went inside. I found a broken radio inside, and some breakable rocks. I wondered if perhaps someone had been hiding out here?
With a small mystery behind me, I left the cave and found myself instantly in a battle with an Ace Trainer. I was surprised when she sent out Bulbasaur against Seth, and I switched over to Samuel who got hit by Growl to lower his attack. Samuel used Flame Wheel to knock out Bulbasaur, then Ivysaur was sent out next. I kept Samuel in the fight, and another Flame Wheel did massive damage, but Ivysaur clung on and countered with Leech Seed, and regained some health by draining Samuel! Samuel used Rock Smash next for minor damage, then Ivysaur used Petal Dance for minor damage.
Samuel finished Ivysaur off with Flame Wheel, then Venusaur was sent out last. Samuel used Flame Wheel for massive damage, but Venusaur endured and used Sleep Powder to put Samuel to sleep, before the lingering Leech Seed regained some of Venusaur's health. I sent Claire out, and she was immune to Venusaur's Double-Edge. Claire used Shadow Ball to knock out Venusaur and win the battle!
Samuel grew to Level 41 from all the experience, and then I got a call from Ralph who wanted a rematch on Route 32. I knew I'd have to remember that, because I doubted my team was quite strong enough to take on the Elite Four yet. I went into the nearby house, which held a kind, elderly woman who gave me TM37 (Sandstorm) as a reward for having such loyal Pokemon.
I went further east, surfing further into Kanto before I got back on land. I fought a wild Tentacruel, and upon victory Seth grew to Level 41. When I reached land, I found myself caught up in another battle. I sent out Seth, who found himself up against Magneton, a powerful Electric-Type Pokemon. Seth charged up, and Magneton missed it's attack before Seth struck it with Solar Beam for massive damage! Thunderbolt hit Seth for minor damage, but he countered with Razor Leaf to knock it out.
Exeggcute was sent out, and I sent Claire out after it. Claire used Shadow Ball to great effect, and knocked out Exeggcute immediately. I kept Claire in the fight when Quagsire was sent out, and another Shadow Ball did massive damage before it countered with Water Gun. Claire missed with Hypnosis, and got hit by Water Gun for minor damage. Claire missed with Hypnosis again, and then Quagsire used Yawn to make Claire drowsy. I decided to quit messing around, and another Shadow Ball knocked it out to win the battle!
I used Awakening on Samuel, and a Super Potion to heal him, then I switched Blake to the head of the team before I continued on. I went across a bridge, and found myself in another battle halfway through it. I sent out Blake, and the Ace Trainer sent out Mareep. I quickly switched to Claire, and she got hit by Cotton Spore to lower her speed. Claire used Shadow Ball for massive damage, and knocked out Mareep before it could do anything else. The battle was won, and I continued further on.
I went across a cliff face and down some stairs, then found myself truly within Kanto. I found a Destiny Knot, then as I went further I found myself in yet another battle, this time with a Psychic. He sent out Starmie, and I sent out Blake. Blake used Ice Fang for good damage, then it countered with Confuse Ray to confuse Blake. I switched over to Edward, and he got hit by Swift for minor damage. Edward used Discharge for massive damage, knocking out Starmie before Girafarig was sent out.
I kept Edward in the fight, and another Discharge did massive damage, then Girafarig countered with Psybeam for good damage. Edward used Thunder Punch to knock it out, and then Exeggcute was sent out last. Edward used Discharge for massive damage, then it countered with Poison Powder. Edward was poisoned, and took some damage, but then used Strength to knock out Exeggcute and win the battle.
I quickly cured Edward of his poison, then continued on. I found myself caught up in another battle, but it was finished quickly, but afterward I had to cure Lucas of poison caused by a Nidorina's ability. I exchanged phone numbers with the Ace Trainer, and then I went further down the path. I looked at my various remedies like Iron and Calcium, and wondered if maybe I should go ahead and try boosting the stats of my Pokemon before we got too much further into things.
I decided against boosting their stats, but I DID give a few of them items to hold. I gave Samuel the Muscle Band to increase his attack power even further, I gave Claire the Soothe Bell to make her friendlier after the trade to Sinnoh, and I gave Edward an Amulet Coin to hold for better cash going further on.
I came to Route 26, and fought against a Fisherman who went down easily against Edward. Edward grew to Level 41, and then after a great payday we went north. I fought against another Psychic, and Claire took down his Espeon easily, then she grew to Level 41. I soon came across a house where the owner was kind enough to let my team and I rest. I thanked her for her help, and then got into another battle just west of her house.
Blake took down her Pikachu with a single Ice Fang, then I sent out Seth against her Blastoise. Seth charged up, then got hit by Surf for great damage, before he hit Blastoise with Solar Beam for massive damage, which knocked it out and won the battle.
From this point, the path lead north, and I went north until I got into another battle. The Ace Trainer, Gavin, sent out Victreebel, Kingler, and Flareon, and all went down easily. Blake grew to Level 41, and I exchanged numbers with Gavin before I continued further north. I was quickly thrown into another battle, and won quite the payday before I went further north.
I was in sight of the entrance to Victory Road when another Ace Trainer named Jamie wanted to fight. After a short battle, I was victorious, and I exchanged phone numbers with her. I had finally made it to Victory Road, and I wondered what challenges lay ahead of me.
I went inside the Reception Gate, and a guard there checked on my 8 Gym Badges before I continued on to Victory Road. I think I'll leave to grab more healing items before I continue further.

Pokemon SoulSilver - Whirl Islands
I went to the nearby Poke' Mart to get several kinds of berries and a Muscle Band from the Deliveryman, then I bought some Pokeballs and taught Edward Flash in place of Light Screen. I then went to Cianwood City and started east to the Whirl Islands.
I went exploring the eastern cave, and found myself soon at the western cave. I found I had made a wrong turn and went through caves linking the two. I left the western cave, and surfed back to the eastern cave, and went through the north path instead. I found myself in a new part of the cavern I was in, and I went through a ways before I made my way further down.
I came across an old man, a monk who recognized the Silver Wing I held which floated above me and glowed. He allowed me to pass, and it returned to me before I continued on. I found a Rare Candy, and got a view of a beautiful waterfall far below, before I went down the side of the island to enter the cave of the waterfall.
I met up with the Kimono Girls, who told me they were there to greet Lugia. They told me that it would emerge from the waterfall basin once their dancing matched the sounds of the Tidal Bell. The Tidal Bell floated up and glowed, and the Kimono Girls moved around the stone it hovered above and started to dance. I watched as the nearby bells at the sides of the waterfall sounded in time with the Tidal Bell, and the dancing matched the tone.
Lugia emerged from the waterfall, and we all stood in awe of it's power. Zuki told me that I was part of the reason it emerged after so long, because of my pure heart. She told me it had been waiting for someone like me all this time. I quickly saved to make sure nothing could go wrong, then I went over to confront Lugia.
I sent out Seth to fight against Lugia, and Lugia used Rain Dance before it got hit by Razor Leaf for minor damage. I switched over to Claire, and Lugia used Extrasensory on Claire for massive damage that knocked her out instantly. I had to switch out to Edward, and he got hit by Aeroblast for great damage before he countered with Thunder Punch for great damage, and caused paralysis!
Edward used Discharge next for great damage, and Lugia missed with Hydro Pump after. Edward used Flash next, and Lugia was stopped by paralysis. Edward used Flash again, then Lugia used Rain Dance again to increase it's Water-Type attacks. Edward used Flash once more to lower Lugia's accuracy further, and it was stopped by paralysis again. I knew a few more hits by Flash would stop it from doing anything at all.
With a few more hits by Flash, Lugia was unable to land a blow, and with paralysis stopping it repeatedly I knew I needed to start trying to catch it. I tossed a Heavy Ball, but it did nothing. I tossed a Dusk Ball, and it did nothing either. Lugia managed to hit Edward with Aeroblast, and he was knocked out. I sent out Blake next, then tried a Net Ball which did nothing. I started to wonder what I could do...
I switched over to Seth to attack Lugia with Razor Leaf, then it countered with Hydro Pump for great damage. Another Razor Leaf missed, then Lugia used Rain Dance again. Seth used Razor Leaf again to bring Lugia to the red, then it failed with Rain Dance. I tossed a Net Ball and found it did nothing.
I started focusing just on tossing Pokeballs, and a Dusk Ball got a couple shakes before Lugia broke out. A couple more Dusk Balls, and I finally caught Lugia!
I went back and talked to Zuki, and noticed that she and the rest had been watching our battle. She was amazed that I not only drew out Lugia, but that I had also caught it. She said I was so wonderful, and that they had nothing more to say. She wished me well on my journey, and I slowly worked my way out of the cave.
I flew back to Cianwood City, and healed my team at the Pokemon Center. My team did well, and I decided that they deserved a short break. I would continue my journey to Victory Road and the Pokemon League soon enough!

Pokemon SoulSilver - Ecruteak Dance Theater
I decided to go ahead and train my Pokemon before the visit to the Ecruteak Dance Theater. I knew that I still had challenges ahead, and that my team needed to be even stronger to get through them. I trained my whole team to Level 40. During training, Claire learned Dream Eater in place of Confuse Ray, Lucas learned Wing Attack in place of Gust, and Seth learned Razor Leaf in place of Vine Whip.
After I had finished training (for now) I decided it was time for Claire and Seth to evolve. I sent Claire off to Sinnoh, where she evolved into a Gengar, then I had her come back with a Leaf Stone, and I used it to evolve Seth into Victreebel!
I decided to do a couple other tasks while I was training, the first being a return to Moomoo Farm to give their Miltank several Oran Berries I had managed to get from the Pokewalker, and when it got better I received a Seal Case and several seals as thanks from the daughters, while their mother gave me TM83 (Natural Gift), which uses a held berry to do an attack.
I also went to the National Park to compete in the Bug-Catching Contest again. After a while of searching, I found a Scyther (Grass/Flying, Female, Lv. 13) and after dealing quite some damage to her and tossing a few Sports Balls, I finally managed to catch her! I had been wanting a Scyther for some time, and I was glad to finally have one. I went around, just biding my time until the end of the contest, and I came across another Scyther (Grass/Flying, Male, Lv. 14) and I figured I would use up my Sports Balls to end the contest quickly, but when I tossed the first Sports Ball at it without doing any damage, he was caught! I switched him for the female, and I won the contest with 354 points for my capture! I received a Sun Stone for my victory.
With my Pokemon all stronger than before, I flew to Ecruteak City and went to the Ecruteak Dance Theater. When I got there, I bumped into Aiden. He was complaining of losing to the Kimono Girls, confused by his defeat. He noticed me after, and told me he never thought defeating five Kimono Girls would be so hard. He assumed I was here for the same reason, and told me not to get cocky just because I defeated Team Rocket.
After Aiden left, I went inside, and was greeted by the Kimono Girl known as Zuki, whom I met in Violet City. She told me that to bring back Lugia, they needed someone with the right bond with Pokemon. It turned out that Mr. Pokemon gave the Mystery Egg to Professor Elm on their orders, and thus to me because I showed true potential. Zuki told me that being pure alone would not be sufficient to face the power of Lugia.
Zuki asked if I was ready to be tested, and when I said yes, she sent out Umbreon while I sent out Samuel. Samuel hit it with Close Combat and the Dark-Type Eevolution was knocked out instantly. I saw that I had 4 more Kimono Girls to fight, and knew I'd have a tough time continuing on.
Next up was Naoko, the one I helped in Ilex Forest, and she sent out Espeon, and I sent out Samuel. Samuel used Flame Wheel for massive damage, then it countered with Psychic for an instant knock-out. I sent out Claire next, and her Shadow Ball attack finished off Espeon and won that battle.
The third one was Miki, who I saved from a Rocket Grunt who had been harassing her right there at the theater. She sent out Flareon, and I sent out Seth. I switched over to Blake, who avoided a hit by Fire Blast. Blake's Quick Claw activated, and allowed him to strike Flareon down with Waterfall in a single blow!
The fourth Kimono Girl was Sayo, who I saved from the Ice Path. Sayo sent out Jolteon while I sent out Seth. Jolteon used Double Team to increase it's evasiveness, then Seth hit it with Sludge Bomb for massive damage AND made it poisoned! Jolteon used Thunder Wave to paralyze Seth, then it avoided his Razor Leaf attack, but took damage from poison. Jolteon used Thunderbolt next for good damage, then Seth was stopped by paralysis while Jolteon took more damage from poison. Jolteon used Last Resort for good damage, then Seth missed with Cut, and Jolteon clung on with more poison damage. Jolteon used Last Resort again for great damage, and Seth missed with Cut again, but Jolteon finally succumbed to poison.
Kuni was the last Kimono Girl, and she met me in the Goldenrod Tunnel. Kuni sent out Vaporeon, and I sent out an injured Seth. I immediately had Edward switch out, and Vaporeon used Aurora Beam for good damage. Edward hit Vaporeon with Thunder Punch for massive damage, a critical hit that knocked it out and won the battle!
Kuni told me that I was indeed worthy, and gave me the Tidal Bell. Suddenly the earth shook, and a little girl ran up onto the stage. She said she had just seen a large shadow in the Whirl Islands' waters. Zuki told me that she and the others would be at the Whirl Islands, and that they would see me there.

Pokemon SoulSilver - New Bark Town
I went south from Blackthorn City to head home to New Bark Town. I fought a Hiker along Route 45, and Seth grew to Level 36. I continued further south, grabbed a Max Potion, and found myself against an Ace Trainer. Seth took down her Marill easily, then her Wartortle was knocked out by Edward, and he grew to Level 37. Edward learned Discharge in place of Shock Wave, then he knocked out another Wartortle before the battle was over.
I found a Full Heal, a Nugget, and a Revive as I continued south, then I fought against another Hiker. His Diglet and Dugtrio both went down easily against Lucas, then I found myself on Route 46 and in a Double Battle against a pair of Picnickers. The battle ended quickly in victory, and Lucas grew to Level 36, then he evolved into Pidgeot!
I went further south, then east, and soon found myself back home at New Bark Town. I visited Mom, relaxed a bit, then I went to Professor Elm's lab. Lyra was there waiting for me, happy to see that I had gotten all 8 Gym Badges. She led me to Professor Elm, who was waiting for me. He told me his research was going great thanks to me, and handed over a Master Ball in thanks. He told me that it's only given to Pokemon Researchers, but he thought I could do a lot more with it than he could.
Elm told me that the Kimono Girls were looking for me, and Lyra told me that people were talking about me. She heard I had helped the Kimono Girls, and many other people, and she told me she was proud to be my friend. Lyra left, and Elm let me know that the Kimono Girls were waiting at the Ecruteak Dance Theater.
I decided to relax for a little while at home before heading over to Ecruteak City.

Pokemon SoulSilver - Dragon's Den
After I healed my team, I headed through the water behind the Blackthorn Gym to the Dragon's Den, a cave that only chosen Trainers were allowed to explore to train. I went into the cave, and then climbed down the ladder to go deeper into the cave.
I quickly came across my first Trainer, who thought I was trespassing. I sent out Claire against his Dragonair. Claire used Shadow Ball for massive damage, then Dragonair missed with Iron Tail. Claire hit it with Shadow Ball again and knocked it out to win the battle. I found a Revive and a Calcium nearby, then I continued further into the cave.
I surfed down to a shrine at the center of the underground lake, but I couldn't get in on my side. I went around and found another Trainer, who also thought I didn't belong there. She sent out Horsea, and I sent Claire after it. Claire used Shadow Ball for massive damage, and it was knocked out instantly. Seadra was sent out next, and Shadow Ball hit it for massive damage and another instant knock out. Claire grew to Level 36, and then one last Horsea was sent out to be knocked out by Shadow Ball.
I went around and got into a Double Battle with a couple little girls, and Seth and Claire took care of them quickly. I grabbed the nearby Max Elixir and then used Whirlpool to get across a whilrpool before I continued on. I quickly found myself on the right side of the Shrine, and I went to talk to the Dragon Master standing proud inside.
He told me it was good to see me, that I didn't need to explain why I came. He knew that Clair sent me there, and told me that she was a handful. He apologized, and told me he had to test me, with a few questions. They were questions about Pokemon, and my relationship with them. After the questions, he knew how deeply I care for Pokemon. He told me that my conviction was important, and not to lose that belief.
Right after that, Clair came in and asked how it went. She assumed that I failed, but when I told her I passed, she refused to believe me. Apparently she couldn't pass his test. The Dragon Master came up to her, defending my skill and spirit. He forced her to admit defeat, and to hand over the Rising Badge, or he would inform Lance about this incident.
With much reluctance, Clair handed over the Rising Badge, which would let me use Waterfall outside of battle. I would also be able to command ALL Pokemon, regardless of level. The Dragon Master told Clair to reflect upon what I have that she lacked, and then she ran off.
The Dragon Master told me of Lugia, that I could find it at the Whirl Islands, at the deep end of the waterfall basin. He told me that I needed a Silver Wing to reach the waterfall basin, but I already had it. Before I'd try to get Lugia, I needed to win the Johto League Championship.
I found a Dragon Fang along the one side, then went back around the other way to make it out of the Dragon's Den. I was stopped by Clair, who apologized for all this, and handed over TM59 (Dragon Pulse), then told me I needed to head back to New Bark Town and Surf along Route 27 to reach the Pokemon League.
When I left the Dragon's Den, I got a call from Professor Elm. He told me he got a hold of something neat, and told me to swing back to his Lab to pick it up. I healed my team at the Pokemon Center, then got ready to head back home. I wonder how Mom has been doing?
Current Team:
Seth (Weepinbell, Grass/Poison, Lv. 35)
Lucas (Pidgeotto, Normal/Flying, Lv. 35)
Claire (Haunter, Ghost/Poison, Lv. 36)
Edward (Electabuzz, Electric, Lv. 36)
Samuel (Infernape, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 36)
Blake (Feraligatr, Water, Lv. 37)

Pokemon SoulSilver - Blackthorn City and the Blackthorn Gym
After I got my team healed at the Pokemon Center, I went and caught a couple more Pokemon from Route 44, and nearby Route 45, Lickitung (Normal, Female, Lv. 24) and Teddiursa (Normal, Female, Lv. 20), before I went back to the city and to the Poke' Mart to grab Shuca Berries, Occa Berries, Kebia Berries, and a Choice Scarf that Mom had bought with my cash. I also grabbed some Ultra Balls while I was at it.
I found the Move Tutor and Move Deleter in a house next to the Poke' Mart, and I also found an elderly couple who could train very powerful moves, but I decided against it. I didn't have Heart Scales to go to the Move Tutor either. I talked to more people in the city and found out that the Dragon Tamers throughout the region all came from Blackthorn City.
With surprisingly little else to do in the "city" I decided to go to the Blackthorn Gym and get my 8th Gym Badge. When I started my way through with Blake close behind, the man near the entrance stopped me and told me that the Gym had unstable footing, and told me to keep Blake in his Pokeball.
My team consisted of:
Blake (Feraligatr, Water, Lv. 35)
Seth (Weepinbell, Grass/Poison, Lv. 35)
Lucas (Pidgeotto, Normal/Flying, Lv. 35)
Claire (Haunter, Ghost/Poison, Lv. 35)
Samuel (Infernape, Fire/Fighting, Lv. 36)
Edward (Electabuzz, Electric, Lv. 35)
I found myself having to work controls on a platform atop the lava to move it over and spin it around so I could continue further through the Gym. I found myself against the first Trainer, and he sent out a Dratini while I sent Blake out against it. Blake used Ice Fang for massive damage, and knocked it out instantly. Another Dratini was sent out, and I kept Blake in the fight. Blake used Ice Fang again, and Dratini was knocked out instantly. Seadra was sent out last, and Blake used Ice Fang for minor damage, before Seadra used Agility to increase it's speed. I switched over to Edward, who got hit by Bubble Beam for good damage, then Brine for great damage, before Edward countered with Thunder Punch to knock it out and win the battle.
I healed Edward, then continued on to fight another Trainer. Her Dratini went down to Ice Fang, and her Dragonair went down to a couple Ice Fangs too. Blake grew to Level 36, and I healed him before I was on another mobile platform. I made my way across and fought another Trainer, and Horsea was sent out. I switched to Edward, and Thunder Punch knocked it out, then Seadra was sent out and Edward hit it with Thunder Punch for massive damage. It knocked out Edward with Bubble Beam doing critical damage, and I switched to Seth, who got hit by Bubble Beam for minor damage before he used Vine Whip to knock it out and win the battle.
I revived Edward and continued on, and I fought another Trainer who went down easily against my team. Edward grew to Level 36, and I healed my team up before I continued further onto the next Trainer. He sent out Dragonair, and it took Seth out before Blake knocked it out. I left the Blackthorn Gym to heal my team, and I taught Lucas Roost in place of Twister after I found it to be useless against the Dragon-Type Pokemon.
With Blake at the ready, I made it across with the last platform and faced the Blackthorn Gym Leader, Clair. She told me she was the world's greatest Dragon-Type Master, and that she could hold her own against even the Elite Four. I told her I wasn't afraid, that I wanted to fight, and she agreed to battle me.
I sent out Blake, and Clair sent out Gyarados. Gyarados' Intimidate cut Blake's attack, and I switched over to Edward, before he got hit by Dragon Rage for great damage. Edward used Thunder Punch for massive damage, and knocked out Gyarados in a single blow. Dragonair was sent out next, and I sent out Blake against it. Blake used Ice Fang for massive damage, and it was frozen solid! Blake used Ice Fang again and knocked it out, and then another Dragonair was sent out.
Blake used Ice Fang again for massive damage, then he got hit by Thunder Wave to be paralyzed. Dragonair used Dragon Pulse next for great damage, and Blake was stopped by paralysis. During the next turn Blake's Quick Claw let him move first, but Paralysis stopped him again, and then Dragon Pulse did great damage again. Dragonair used Dragon Pulse once more, and Blake countered with Ice Fang to knock it out and grow to Level 37.
Finally Clair sent out Kingdra, and I sent out Edward to fight it. Kingdra used Dragon Pulse for massive damage, and Edward clung on to strike with Thunder Punch for good damage. I gave Edward a Hyper Potion to heal up, then Kingdra used Hydro Pump for massive damage, putting him in the red again. Kingdra used Dragon Pulse again and knocked Edward out, then I sent out Seth.
Kingdra used Dragon Pulse for massive damage, and Seth charged up, then Kingdra used Hydro Pump to knock Seth out. I sent out Claire, and Kingdra used Dragon Pulse for massive damage to knock her out before she could do anything. I felt the pressure, only two Pokemon left and one badly injured, and none could do much. I sent Lucas out, and Kingdra used Hydro Pump for massive damage, knocking Lucas out instantly.
I sent out Samuel next, and he used Close Combat for massive damage, then Kingdra ate a Sitrus Berry to heal itself before it knocked out Samuel with Hydro Pump. All I had left was Blake, and I gave him a Hyper Potion to heal, before he got hit by Dragon Pulse for great damage. Kingdra used Dragon Pulse again for great damage, then Blake used Ice Fang for minor damage. I gave Blake a Max Potion, and Kingdra used Hydro Pump for good damage. Kingdra missed with Hyper Beam next, and Blake's paralysis stopped him from attacking.
I gave Blake a Parlyz Heal, and Kingdra used Dragon Pulse for great damage. I gave Blake my last Max Potion, and Kingdra used Dragon Pulse for great damage. Quick Claw worked to let Blake use Waterfall for minor damage, then Kingdra used Dragon Pulse once more for great damage. I used my Max Revive to revive and heal Edward, before Blake was knocked out by Dragon Pulse.
Kingdra used Hyper Beam for massive damage, then Edward countered with Thunder Punch for good damage. Kingdra had to recharge, and Edward used Thunder Punch again to knock it out, and win the battle! Clair was speechless upon defeat, she couldn't believe she lost against me, though she was a challenging opponent with only a couple Pokemon to fight against her.
After the battle, Clair refused to concede, and told me I still wasn't ready for the Pokemon League. I knew I had a very difficult time throughout this league of such odd Gym-Types, but for the final Gym Leader to refuse me my Gym Badge? She said I should take the Dragon-master challenge, in the Dragon's Den behind the Gym. She told me if I went to the shrine inside and prove that I've lost my lazy ideals, then she would give me my Gym Badge.
I felt angry, after my whole team was knocked out by her strength (and by their lack of Type-advantages), that she refused to give me the Gym Badge I had earned fairly. I wished I could just continue onto the Pokemon League, but I needed that damn Gym Badge. I knew my Pokemon needed further training, but I wondered how much more they would need. I found myself again wishing, as I went back to the Pokemon Center, that the Johto League had normal Gyms.
Every other League has a general layout, with Rock, then Water, then Grass, etc, but then this Johto League has the secondary types to fight against, an odd assortment that started with Flying-Type Pokemon, the first League I've faced so far to have that as a Gym Type-theme. I was just glad to be nearly done with this Johto League, and to win the Championship so I could move on to the next League.
Current Team:
Blake (Feraligatr, Water, Lv. 37)
Seth (Weepinbell, Grass/Poison, Lv. 35)

Pokemon SoulSilver - Heading to Blackthorn City
I grabbed some Heavy Balls from Kurt, gave him more Apricorns to make more Pokeballs, then Flew over to Mahogany Town to head east toward Blackthorn City. I fought a few Trainers along Route 44, and through the battles Lucas, Blake, and Seth all grew to Level 35.
Soon enough I found myself traveling the Ice Path. I brought Samuel out, ready to fight all the Ice-Type Pokemon I knew I would be facing on my way to Blackthorn City. I traveled a ways through the Ice Path, fought against a wild Pokemon, and Samuel grew to Level 36, then he learned Close Combat in place of Mach Punch. After the battle, Samuel evolved into Infernape!
I found and caught a Swinub (Ice/Ground, Female, Lv. 23) and continued on my way through the path. I came across a man who told me he dropped an item onto some ice, but he couldn't retrieve it himself. I found my way across the ice, and found HM07 (Waterfall) before I made my way back to the man to return it. The man was kind enough to let me keep it since I worked to get it.
I went down a ladder to the next floor, and I caught a Delibird (Ice/Flying, Female, Lv. 22) as I was making my way through the path. I found several large holes, and several large boulders I figured I would need to use to fill the holes. I quickly realized that I hadn't taught any of my Pokemon how to use Strength, and I taught Edward to use Strength in place of Headbutt. While I was at it, I taught Blake to use Waterfall in place of Crunch.
I tried moving a boulder and found myself falling down one of the holes onto the ice below. I slid around for a while, trying to grab the items nearby, but I soon gave up and went back up the ladder in the corner. I managed to move the boulders around down the holes, where they landed on the ice below. With the last boulder in place, I dropped down to grab some items, including a Max Potion, Carbos, and a Full Heal.
I went down the ladder at the center, found a Star Piece and Never Melt Ice, and then I went up the other ladder. I found TM72 (Avalanche) and I found Iron and Protein as I made my way up another couple ladders and through another path. I soon came across a Kimono Girl, who was stuck on the ice near the exit, and she recognized me. She told me that her sandals were frozen on the ice, and she was stuck. I moved around and gave her a shove to the exit. She thanked me and left, and I went around to grab an item, a PP Up, before I managed my way out.
I found myself at Blackthorn City, and I went to heal my team. I would explore this city soon enough, and get my final Gym Badge!
